Sadie’s love life would’ve been a total depressing disaster losing two loves in the same year if they went through with it.

Well if I had to be honest its probably a combination of all the reasons this comment section provided. There was a thing between them that went unspoken. They decided for their own reasons to not act on it and instead pursue a more family-esque relationship.
I love this relationship between Arthur and Sadie, so much that I think that Sadie should be the main character in RDR 3.
