The fight with true monk is so satisfying and when I finally beat genichiro, like it was crazy. Lightning reversals are so dope like the combat system is just perfect. My only gripe is the fights take too long in most cases.
Sword on sword, Sekiro is unbeatable (you can arguably put Devil May Cry, Ninja Gaiden, and Bayonetta up there, but they're trying to do different things so not an exact comparison). Where Souls shines is that it's a combat sandbox. You have a billion different ways to engage with the game.
for me, who used to do parry in all souls games including pvp. Instead, I saw a large window like the length of the animation frame from R1 increased. this is because buckler has the bonus for increasing the frame of the opponent's attack, it seems that the animation length increases when she swings the weapon than usual. then falls into the very long buckler parrying active window. this is why at least in pvp the active frame bonus from buckler or parrying dagger needs to be nerfed.
Thank you so much for putting out such an amazing and being a big inspiration for me. After beating Malenia with a mimic base game, I was determined to solo her NG and I really mastered the fight using a similar build setup. Though hitless may be a bit too much for me, I had a lot of fun and satisfaction killing her with parries and ripostes. You’re awesome, dude!
It took you 3 days after release to do this. I don't even know what to say man, you really are the best fromsoft player I've seen. I subbed to you when you first started making Sekiro content a few years ago and I'm glad you keep on going with other bosses.
I got all her moves down besides the flurry which is basically impossible to dodge, and then after watching this I realized I could just use a shield, thank you
Amazing job, man, first time sincerely seeing such skills. Took her down yesterday after four hours with the ice hammer and the ringleader spirit hector. It felt really satisfying, since you can't actually cheat her like some boss.
Honestly i don't even think it's parryable even, the best strategy for me is also the one that Ongbal use here. Just become a Poise Boy and Defend, works everytime, kinda limit on how you approach the fight but honestly it's better than fighting her as a Magic Boy and have this anxiety of getting hit and dead. Though being Magic Build is the best if you really afraid of fighting her directly but if you don't fancy that hey just saying man.
@@Azazantei it's possible to dodge it all, but you need to anticipate it and make space, if you dodge the entirety of the first set of slashes by running away, you can kind of control where she goes and completely dodge the 2nd and 3rd sets of slashes, took me like 30 mins to get the hang of it but it's a good alternative I wasn't too sure existed until I tried it. I refused to use a shield.
If you're directly under her when she jumps, it's basically unsurvivable without a shield. Otherwise, the instant you see that jump (trust me, you'll learn what it looks like very quickly), sprint away at full speed. The first flurry has the most hits and lasts too long to roll through. Even if you roll the first few slashes, you still get walloped by the rest. And then you can't dodge the subsequent ones either. Second flurry has slightly shorter dash, so keep running away. Noticeable pause between second and third flurries. Stop running here and roll into her as she dashes for the third, then continue backing away. Timed right, everything subsequent will miss you entirely. Once she stops, you can roll through the final slash (which comes out well after she's landed) and hit with r1 before she starts up another move. I would recommend learning how to dodge her slashes so she can't heal off your blocks. Also, in phase 2 the attack inflicts scarlet rot even on block, making blocking even worse if you have the option. That said, I HIGHLY recommend having a 58+ guard boost shield on standby. She'll almost always use the move at around 75% health, so you should be able to manage initial distance and not need the shield for that one. There seems to be no pattern for when she'll use it afterwards, though. You will get caught being too close when she starts it. The shield will at least let you live.
Ongbal out here parrying bosses like it's nothing. Meanwhile, I'm struggling to land parries on the most basic enemies. (Seriously, I cannot figure out parries in this game)
I love how everyone in souls community is trashing this boss because they cant beat her even with summon or the most broken gears, and here Ongbal just goes naked and snash her ass no damage
I felt proud finishing the game, having a hard time dying around 20 times through each boss and then there's Ongbal here killing them while taking no damage as if he fought against a lil kid LMAO I have so much respect for you man.
Wow this is actually amazing. I got her down on journey one, but journey 2 I am like 20 attempts deep right now just getting blasted. Your shield switch was so impressive. Well done.
Been watching your videos since day 1 man really inspired and motivated me i parried dsa pontiff just like u did I think I’m the second to do it with proof i hope u see this and i hope i get show u the clip one day
I'm just wondering, would have been more efficient to swap to a dagger for the critical hits then swap back to Ghizas wheel for the charged R2. Cuz don't daggers do more critical dmg? Regardless, super impressive, your a absolute god. Mad respect.
I can’t imagine why it took so long for a Dark Souls game to come with bosses (Margit/Morgott and Malenia) where you need to parry _multiple times_ to get a riposte. It’s not like these absolute masters of the blade are going to be _totally_ shaken by their strike being offset some by a shield, but if it keeps happening repeatedly, that’d probably do it.
The level of mastery on display in basically every video is absolutely unreal. This is imo the most bullshit boss in the entire game and you absolutely embarrassed her effortlessly.
I agree. For me and just speaking for me. This boss was the hardest boss I’ve ever faced in all the soulsborne/sekiro games. And there were some tough ones. I know there are gonna be many saying “Bro, she wasn’t that hard. I beat her on my second try. All you have to do is this and that.” And I’ll say “good for you.”Peace.

do you know if he play with controller or keyboard? parrying with keyboard is damn hard
for me, who used to do parry in all souls games including pvp.
@@busetgadapet He plays on an xbox controller I think.
I knew it was only a matter of time before you make a no hit boss fight. You are awesome
Rumor has it that this was Ongbal's first attempt at this boss
EZ clap amazing job ongbal, i had some real trouble with malenia, you made it look so easy
This is madness, congrats and thanks for this video!
Ongbal is already owning this game while we struggling. Great job as always legend
You are on completely another level when it comes to these games bro.
That’s how you know that someone comes from Sekiro.
4 days dude…Four days since the game’s release and Ongbal has already conquered it
"Bloodborne problems require Bloodborne solutions."
*Whips out Pizza Cutter of Doom*
Very impressive, you showed real skill and hard work. Respect
After being trapped in sekiro worlds, he spend thousands of year to train in there. Now he's free and OP.
Wow. This fight was beautiful and well executed.
You know a boss is hard af when ongball has more than 0.5 health
I got all her moves down besides the flurry which is basically impossible to dodge, and then after watching this I realized I could just use a shield, thank you
I'm getting spoiled but I'm still too happy seeing this
ye, we cannot really consider this a spoiler... at least be the time i will reach this boss, i will have forgotten this video a while ago...
Its optional lmao
Amazing job, man, first time sincerely seeing such skills. Took her down yesterday after four hours with the ice hammer and the ringleader spirit hector. It felt really satisfying, since you can't actually cheat her like some boss.
clean fight, i've been trying this boss for about 2h now and still get whooped by her
Probably the most skilled Souls player alive.
Damn, watching this feels like a 20 mins long fight but it makes it look so easy. Can't wait to get my ass kicked in the first 30 secs.
Came to see this after seeing radahn and you've already uploaded it
Ongbal is the true elden lord,
O Ongbal O Ongbal
Any other ideas for dealing with the flurry at 0:38? Any idea if it's parryable? Doesn't seem reliable to dodge it depending on positioning
@@Azazantei Do you need to upgrade the shield to block that attack?
Nope. It's just an unavoidable big "fuck you" if you're not positioned perfectly to run away from it.
Now THIS is my expectations for the person I’m summoning
dude you're a legend !!!! ,how many attempts did it take for you to beat her with no damage taken ?
This was the first attempt
Stop it funboy
I don't even remember 😵
id like to say the orchestration in the music is amazing
Please do a 100% no damage walkthrough
Malenia: I have never met defeat.
Ongbal: AND I HAVE NEVER GET HIT
This is insane....
Malenia "I have never known defeat"
Ongbal "Heh heh no damage youtube channel go brrr"
Incredible stuff, beautiful performance.
Ongbal out here parrying bosses like it's nothing. Meanwhile, I'm struggling to land parries on the most basic enemies.
(Seriously, I cannot figure out parries in this game)
Cómo no, tenía que ser un pro gamer coreano. Ya lo había profetizado el gran Powerbazinga
Every boss has a rhythm. Learn the rhythm and the boss is powerless.
Something Sekiro taught me.
now you do it lol
I see.... ONGBAL is starting the legend of the naked dude who goes around vanquishing bosses
Wow this is actually amazing. I got her down on journey one, but journey 2 I am like 20 attempts deep right now just getting blasted. Your shield switch was so impressive. Well done.
Been watching your videos since day 1 man really inspired and motivated me i parried dsa pontiff just like u did I think I’m the second to do it with proof i hope u see this and i hope i get show u the clip one day
And I have seen people say you can't defeat her without magic! Wow, this gameplay is pure fire!!!
Edit: typo
I would argue it's harder to beat her *with* magic. She actively dodges and I had to give up and just shank her to death.
@@theneef174
Just use moonveil katana
@@mattguxxxtt9629 That counts as shanking. Which I did.
After reading comment in his own Margit video, this man understood & took the challenge
And he completed it flawlessly...
I'm just wondering, would have been more efficient to swap to a dagger for the critical hits then swap back to Ghizas wheel for the charged R2. Cuz don't daggers do more critical dmg? Regardless, super impressive, your a absolute god. Mad respect.
Would be a damage loss overall because the wheel is stacking bleed when doing riposte damage.
@@ChainsawM oh I didn't know ripostes also stack debuffs. That's cool to know, thanks!
RESPECT!!! I played all soul games, am overpowered, have mimic but can´t beat this boss and he does THAT!
I didn't know Vergil was a boss in Elden ring. Nonetheless, this game is a masterpiece. Well done man!
*Boss does the flashiest move ever*
Ongbal : That's it?
You always encourage me to keep playing and reaching beyond my limits.
Amazing job 😎👍
The level of mastery on display in basically every video is absolutely unreal. This is imo the most bullshit boss in the entire game and you absolutely embarrassed her effortlessly.
I agree. For me and just speaking for me. This boss was the hardest boss I’ve ever faced in all the soulsborne/sekiro games. And there were some tough ones. I know there are gonna be many saying “Bro, she wasn’t that hard. I beat her on my second try. All you have to do is this and that.” And I’ll say “good for you.”Peace.
i refuse to believe that you are a human !!! you are the true final boss bro ^^ you made guts proud xD
Ayy you finally got this boss. Wonder what’s the completion rate for this boss , I think it’s less than 1% atm.
On playstation it's been at 0.1%. You can tell by looking at trophies.
Because A) it's a ridiculously difficult fight and B) it's optional and easily missable.
0:38 Very clean and shows expert hardcore gamer
Omg please make a tutorial on parry i beg you 🙏🙏🙏🙏
I did not spend 3 days and 153 attempts just to watch this guy stroll in and completely destroy this.
