Yay! My introduction to fragrance was my Dad's Aramis when he got ready to go out. The smell takes me instantly back. In the eighties he took to Tuscany. I keep both around in his memory. The younger me was delighted by Havana. It smelled exotic and exciting. I've got a couple of unopened bottles in my stash. They can tuck one into my coffin when I go.
Fabulous line Greg got a few vintage and modern of these little belters and the nostalgia vibe is terrific . Great video for all us mature blokes and old school jack the lads 👍🙏✌️
New West was so genuinely new and exciting when it arrived. For me in my early twenties it was energising and smelled (somehow) of the lifestyle I wanted to lead. It's sometimes easy to forget the effect that clever perfumery (and marketing) can have. It was so good to have new fragrances that didn't smell like the stuff my dad wore. New West evoked my dreams of a better, cleaner life.
I absolutely loved Aramis 900 in the late 70s and early 80s used to buy the soap & face cream of Aramis original also back in the day , where did you pull this outta bag big man ? Aramis one of my all time favourite houses. Great vid as always Gregg 👊
I like a lot Aramis as a house overall. I own only 3: Devin - great outdoorsy scent; Tuscany Per Uomo - the benchmark for designer barbershops; Tobacco Reserve - the most realistic fruity cigar smell in the designer world - sadly discontinued too soon (2018 release). A blast from the past.... Am 57 now and absolutely loved these fragrances.. Old formulatings was alot better years ago.. Aramis 900 use to come in a brown ridged bottle and would last all day.. Still the same smell now but doesn't have the same performance.. Same with tuscany... New West and Havana are good performers thou... Still unsure about devin.. A bit skanky on my skin.... 😊

I had a lovely fresh aramis called ‘Life’ Andre Agassi was the face of it. Very cucumber’y. But the originals the one I still love . Fancy devin though. Great video.
A cracking video about a brilliant collection! Tuscany has been on my list for a while - I’m yet try to it but I may just take a punt and buy it (my local M&S sell it). I seem to recall trying JHL once but it didn’t really make much of an impression on me; I believe Debenhams used to stock it, along with the rest of the Gentleman’s Collection. New West sounds really intriguing - I love fragrances that straddle the blue-green line, so I think NW might be up my street. Anyway, another great video - keep going, Greg!

I have a bottle of Tobacco Reserve from a few years ago, although it is a bit too sweet for me. I don't think it has the same type of character as most of the fragrances in this group of older fragrances from Aramis. Thank you for a really interesting clip today. :0)
Calligraphy Rose and Tobacco Reserve would be in my top 5 as well. Really wish Lauder would release something new under the brand, but methinks their perfume days are over. It's up to us to keep their memory alive I guess. 🪦💐

New West is a pale shadow of theway it smelled when it first came out. It pre, dated the flood of aquatic fragrances with it's cactus note. The girls loved it in the eighties.
Aramis Tobacco (2018) and Aramis Calligraphy (2012) are the only wearable perfumes for me. All these older perfumes they have too much 70s/80s vibes.... this will scare younger ladies away. With all that oakmoss-leather in the bottle my chest hair started to grow insanely.... so I stopped wearing it. :-)
I thought that only the OG is still in production, and that, though discontinued, there are loads of new old stock of Devin and New West at discounters.

I remember Tuscany Per Uomo from 90s. That juice was straight up thermonuclear in projection and sillage.

Aramis was very popular back in the day. Mainly because it was cheap and smelt great. Many men used it as a signature scent. Great video.

Aramis was always his signature scent, but our family noticed how the scent or formula changed over the years to the point of no longer smelling good.
