I always refer back to your instructional videos when I have questions.
I've found them to the point and with REAL content. I've been using the join method you have shown us here with no problems at all.
Always look for new stuff from you...it's rare and I know you've got a lot more than tatting in your life. Real needle tatting patterns are rare...wish you could come out with a book of some of your favorites.

I love your video and I agree with the way you join your chain. I have a pattern that calls for joining a final chain at a picot on the very first chain and I am having so much trouble with it. I have been searching for a solution and wondered if you have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

I am having trouble with my pattern. I am trying to create my own pattern. For a moonflower. Which I want to use for earrings, but it's not working. I wanted it to resemble an actual moonflower which has a pentagon shape. I am getting frustrated... Please help.

Katie do you personally read the comments?

Hi Katy!! Your videos have been of great help!! I have a doubt, if the rings are facing to the outside and the chains to the inside, do you make the join the same way? I have been trying to join two rings and, I can't make heads or tails. I would really appreciate if you could help me on this!!
    Thank you in advance!!
    Greetings from Argentina!! 🤗

As soon as you folded it over and pulled up through the front, I was like..can't you just put the needle through the front? Seems like a over complicated way to do a simple thing. Then bam! Validated :)

If you don't mind me asking, what got you started on Tatting?

    • @RustiKate

I have just always love to make things with my hands, create, and making gifts. I already crocheted and knitted, and so on, so when I heard about Tatting when I was 14, I taught myself. Have loved it ever since. :)

RustiKate , omgosh me too I taught myself to do all that and I paint, draw, floral, interior design, anything crafty I'm on it. I'm an old soul, I love antiques and vintage. I found your video and was so excited to know that someone else loves tatting

Awesome! Me too, all the way to the old soul and vintage part. :)

Can you tell us the difference between tying off after a ring or a chain and not tying a knot at the end. Why can't one just keep tatting? Why the knot and why not :)

    • @RustiKate
      @RustiKate  7 лет назад

I will put that on my to-do video list, thanks for the suggestion. :)

I noticed your videos have a "squeezed" or "stretched" shape to them. Try adjusting the aspect ratio on your camera to properly frame your videos to a more squarish shape. Just a thought ;-)

Thanks, so much! My camera hasn't changed. I think maybe RUclips has changed its format/aspect ratio so there is a bit of a conflict now. Super appreciate your input! I will mess around with my aspect ratio next time and see if I can get it to work with RUclips correctly again. :)
