I made this for my family at Thanksgiving. Although there were several desserts offered, as usual, this cranberry yay disappeared in mere moments of appearing on the table! It was fabulous. Thank you for another winning recipe ATK! MERRY CHRISTMAS and all the best in the New Year!
I actually made this tart for Thanksgiving. It was beautiful and so delicious. I wasn't as artistic with the topping because it was just SO good I simply swirled it all over the top, barely remembering to let some of that bright pink peek out!

I’ve made this but I was too lazy to make the crust though I just used a pre made graham cracker crust. Lol

I made this recipe and here are my notes.
1. The tart can be hard to release from the rim of the tart pan. Using a non-stick tart pan might solve the problem.
2. I found the whip cream, while lovely, didn't add much. I added a thick coat of dark chocolate shavings (think of chocolate covered cranberries). A ganache might have been even better.
3. Other than that, the tart goes together as pictured and didn't fail to impress!

The tart in the thumbnail amuses me, looks like a blood agar with consistent growth around the edges! I bet it's delicious!!

Can this be made in a glass pie dish?
I recall butter going into a curd in order to chill the mixture. I don't understand her waiting until the berry/egg have reached 120F
It looks like maybe it helps retain the glossiness of the curd. Like in a sauce or gravy, adding the butter last gives it a nice sheen. Just my guess. Also keeps the butter firmer than it melting into complete liquid.

Raw eggs in Cranberry Tart?
Yes - raw eggs into piping hot cranberries (~180°F) fresh off the stove. They get cooked.

If bacteria in a petri dish looked delicious
The way that cranberry tart is finished makes it look like a petri dish growing cells. Not exactly an appetizing presentation.
Casreful sprouting those grains. One of the grains releases cyanide in the sprouting stage. @Rosered Homestead did a vid on this, recently. ruclips.net/video/K5ee22XO_Eg/видео.html
