It’s time for a Saturday supercar showdown!
The Ferrari’s the most powerful car in this line-up, with a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 able to put down 720hp & 770Nm of torque! What's more, it's also the lightest competitor today, weighing in at just 1,385kg.
As for the Lamborghini, it’s definitely going to be up for the challenge, given it’s packing a 5.2-litre V10! However, the power output is slightly less than the 488 Pista, at 640hp & 600Nm.
And then we come to the Porsche 911 Turbo S. With a 3.8-litre flat-six it’ll put down 650hp & 800Nm. So when you’re just looking at the stats, you may think the Ferrari is the favourite… But let’s be honest, this isn’t our first 911 Turbo drag race, and it’s already swept so many competitors aside!
But will it be the same story here? Or will the lighter 488 Pista snatch the win? You’ll have to keep watching to find out!

We gotta respect the Turbo S as a non track focused car.
The only car here that is track focused is the Perr. The Pista is more like a 488/F8 where everything is honed, but it's not a real track day car.

It's a name. For it to be a real track car, it needs a few changes.
Just to illustrate how far from a race car it is, here is the factory alignment.
Front:
Camber -40 minutes
Toe -5 minutes
Rear:
Camber -1*20 minutes
Toe +10 minutes
So much for track work. Coincidentally, it shares the alignment with both the 488 and F8.
Here is what a Pista needs in order to become a track day car.
Proper 5 point harness with HANS support.
Braided PTFE brake lines.
Castrol SRF brake fluid or equivalent.
Pagid RSL1 brake pads.
PU bushings.
A proper alignment.
What the Pista is, is a road car made to feel more raw and tactile. A GT3RS is MUCH harder and stripped out. Yes it is more noisy than the regular 488 and F8, but it is still a very comfy car.

Multiple sites/reviewers claim 10.1s for the 488 Pista 1/4 mile, same as the 911 Turbo S, so something just seems off with this 10.6 like maybe tire condition or just the driver. I'd expect the Porsche to launch better due to AWD and their insane launch control, but the extra power + lower weight should definitely catch up later (as evidenced by the rolling races)

In the rolling race, it's worth noting that even though the actual response of the throttle as an isolated system will be sharper in the naturally aspirated Lamborghini, the turbocharged cars will have a much wider peak torque band.
Also, it's ridiculously impressive how well that Porsche performs. Especially at a price point £100,000 less than the other two cars here. Something more comparable might have been a 991 GT2 RS for being a stripped out, hardcore driver's car at the quarter of a million pound price point.

I knew the Poesche was going to win the standing race. That Flat 6 and the PDK gearbox is an unbeatable combo. I thought the Ferrari would have done better. Also not surprised the Prosche came in 2nd in the brake test. Their brakes are pretty good. The Lambo all around is just loud and pretty, and that's ok!

@@Basila191 In the brake test, the lightest car won but the Lamborghini is quite heavy for a lightweight car, they quoted it's dry weight as against the kerb weight of the other cars.

A drag race of the current 911 versus older gens would be interesting to see the progress
interesting enough, 911 turbos have been able to do a 11 second flat or below since the 997 turbo pdk in 2010
Also the spider version of Performante which weighs nearly the same as an Aventador
The Turbo S is on a league of its own. It has taken over 2 years for supercars even getting close to its level of performance, what a machine!
The Pista is a beautiful thing tho.
