Another fun fact. She forwent her fee for this performance in exchange for the filming rights. She then took this footage and did Homecoming Documentary for netflix with a multi-project deal she signed with them. So she flipped between 7-10 milli and turned that into $60 milli. ICON!

And even when she doesn’t buy the rights I think it’s been over a decade since she had anyone but parkwood hired cinematographers photograph her in major performances, it’s never event coordinators like Coachella and mtv’s people behind camera, these parkwood people are all super talented and it’s a huge part of why these experiences are so elevated they do really exceptional work ❤️

    you’re right, it WAS humble!!
the song she did acapella during Sorry is called Kitty Kat from her B’Day album
the chopped and screwed song is called Bow Down/I Been On which is officially unofficial from her self titled album
“you know sometimes shit goes down when there’s a billion dollars on a elevator” is from the ***Flawless (Remix) feat. Nicki Minaj
the song after Don’t Hurt Yourself is called “I Care” and that’s from her album 4 which is my personal favorite
the song title you were looking for after that is called “Yonce’” which is technically not it’s own song on her self titled album, it acts as an intro to Partition
and yes. i memorized the single ladies dance the week the video was released lmaooo
    My Lemonade Top 5:
    5. Formation

One thing about Beyonce performing she is very aware of space. Think about it. She's maxing maximal use of all the space but she also doesn't ever have the people in the background just standing. They're also moving throughout. No matter where you are in the crowd, you're getting a show.

what is also so powerful about this performance is that she displayed elements of african american culture. some aspects can be detected from the musicality (samples used, songs covered, lift ev'ry voice and sing, etc.) to the theme (hbcu homecoming). that was what made this performance so powerful was that it was a love letter to us. she goes into the meaning more in the documentary, but within the performance herself, it's another element of "if you know, you know."

And she also doesnt mind sampling/using beats from other hip hop songs, especially when she performs DIVA.

Sis performed, belled out those vocals and danced for 1h and ended the show with Love on top? Come on! This song is sooo hard to sing!

Also just so you know the entire performance is based off of the historically black college and university homecoming culture. It’s a time in the schools academic year where people come together including the sororities and fraternities and they promote their organizations and unity through pride. Music usually is the driving force behind a lot of the unity at our historically black colleges and universities. I myself graduated from an HBCU and I saw one of your other videos where you said you wanna know more so I just wanted to pass on a little bit of knowledge. I wanted you to know what you’re getting excited about it’s not just music with her

20:24 prior to that performance, bey and her team went through 8-month rehersal. 4 months on vocals and instruments and then another 4 months on choreography. sooo :----------)

Would you ever consider doing heavy metal? Some of my favorite bands are Poppy, Bad Omens, In This Moment, Ghostmane, and The Pretty Reckless.
