I got my Wii for Christmas in 2008 and I still have it today in 2023 and it works perfect. I’ve been playing a bunch lately. I still have the Wii remote that came with it and the one that came with Wii play. I have softmodded it with homebrew, usb loader, and rii connect 24. I have done no crazy modding like changing the Wii menu theme and other insane hacking stuff. And the funny thing is, I play mine on a Panasonic plasma tv too but I did buy some Wii component cables to upgrade it to 480p and it looks amazing. I do still have the original cables.

Edit: also back in the Wii days the Wii was playing every Nintendo game GameCube backwards compatible with the controller ports and memory cards on the top and the NES,SNES,N64,arcade games and mega drive and other ones that I forgot so the Wii was playing most Nintendo games which was awesome back in The day and also I have so many memories with this including the music and games so yeah good video

pretty much everyone knows, The Wii had the virtual shop which had pretty much every game from past Nintendo systems and some from Sega systems and only the Launch edition Wii or V1 Wii's were backward play with Gamecube games and controllers and memory cards meanwhile the family edition Wii or V2 lost that ability.
I never did get an official Wii console, but I remember playing it in Germany where I spent my vacation with my family there. It's a pretty neat console and I feel like the Wii did the motion control gimmick the best. I mostly played Wii Sports, but it was fun. Even my family who actually hate gaming enjoyed playing the Wii to my surprise. It's very rare to see a console being made that everyone can enjoy playing. Now days, it's pretty difficult to buy old Nintendo consoles, because the old Nintendo games have very outrageous prices. My very first and only Nintendo console I currently own is the Nintendo Switch, but I mostly play games more on my PS2 & PS3 consoles, because I grew up with PlayStation & also I just enjoy playing older games in general. It's not like I don't play the Switch, I just personally enjoy playing games on older systems. There was even a moment where my tamily thought of getting a Wii at one point, but thay was years ago and it didn't happen.

That wii is gamecube backwards compatible. Those slots r for gamecube memory cards and if u flip up the other flap next to it u can put 4 og gamecube controllers

Tip on Wii bowling: When you throw the bowl on the side there's like a red button and it will make all of them fall

Do you think you’re ever gonna change your Wii screen to widescreen? I’d recommend it if you’re gonna keep playing.
I haven’t really considered it. I do like the old school look of non widescreen.
@@BenjaminsTech that’s fair enough, especially if you ever want to play GameCube games. Wii games look great in widescreen to me but my GameCube games look HORRIBLE stretched. You probably made the better original decision :)

The flaps on the top are for GameCube Games you can put in your controller and memory card and play GameCube games

Just bought Wii resort and it won’t connect to the internet 🤦🏽then I got it to the remote set up I pushed a and b and it still did nothing keeps going back to the remote setting I gave up🤷♀️

Were those USB ports used for anything?
I know you asked 3 weeks ago, but all I know is you could use the USB ports for a Nintendo Wifi connector and the Guitar Hero guitar. Also, it can charge Wii remotes. Standard USB 2.0.

No, you dont need any memory card to save Wii games. If youre talking about gamecube games, then you do need a memory card
