Hey Charlie, the problem with the corner of the wall comes down to a rendering soft block. The problem usually occurs due to many higher end pc’s having multiple cores and multiple threads. The textures on the wall are then divided amongst the cores, causing an issue where the physical “wall” and the programming for it collide against one another. This puts the player into a soft lock position wherein the wall is impassable. I’ve heard from a couple of sources that a clean restart on the actual game files themselves have helped some people, but it isn’t a proven theory. I’ve had this problem happen to me in a banjoo kazooie speedrun and I know how it can feel. Good luck, and I hope this doesn’t deter you :)
Charlie, there is another speed run strat outside the window, watch Finath former WR on PC speedrun. He drags the camera back and jumps and lands on top of the building instead of going through the wall. Could work for you.
Also, Mattmatt has an any% run where he turns and clips through the wall crawling and also has an input reader on the screen to show what’s happening. I’d check that out too.

Any Outlast speedrun is better than any of my playthroughs. Their time to complete the game is always faster than I can find the entrance into the asylum

I dont see the harm in using a virtual machine, if it just doesnt work on certain computers im fairly certain its regarding something like 32 bit vs 64 bit systems
@@fobo3361 They could regulate a save that you load after you do the window glitch? I dont know if you can input saves with precise locations into the game i assume you can tho, then when you get on the roof just load the save and continue the run.

I was actually thinking about Outlast while watching your speedrun videos. Outlast is ideally my favorite horror game and one of my favorite all-time games because of all of the nostalgic memories I've had within the game. So great to see you speedrun this game!
I beat this while tripping in one night, idk how but dear fuck I felt that shit every drop of blood from the stretchers on the way 😅 the battery pick up honestly still remains my favorite sound. It meant life in the moment.
