Recently someone who mods the game has made a tool that lets you see shit like triggers and collision and other stuff to tweak the game, so a lot more exploits have been getting found.
I think most of such glitches are found studying the game engine and the game code/files rather than just playing the game and "try" and glitch the game
I agree this game is brilliant, for a while I went without wifi so I just played this all the time to the point where it wasn't even scary, I tried speed running a lot and did decent.
Speedrunning Outlast is one of the most fun and frustrating things to do. Especially on Insane mode. At least if you mess up, the game automatically starts you off at the beginning. Happy to see Jesus play a game that is actually fun to speedrun both legit and with glitches.
I've never ever been interested in the competitive gaming community nor speedrun community. But I got to say, Outlast may be the most easiest game to speedrun and exploit compared to any other game. All you gotta do is not get scared and just run past enemies (except for Chris Walker) because Miles is always faster.
Damn Charlie really speedrunning higher end games every day. I've gone from comically laughing with Mr.Krabs on Ketamine, to being genuinely impressed with his skill.
As someone who spent hours practicing speedrun skips to make the Ironman playthrough bearable I’ll say that the ironman speedrun/all chapters speedrun is so much more fun to play. Like the only major techs in any% that carries over to all chapters is b-hopping and wall-riding. There are so many MANY clips in the game that involve a combination of wall-riding, door clipping, vault clipping though walls, and this absurd tech that lets you get on top of doors, and oh yes, so so many softlocks. Way more fun to learn than just the any% here. The funny jump over the hedge to the end of the game thing is always fun.
You spamming gremlins with your shitty links and bad jokes are all over the place recently. I want to see comments that stroke my ego not this garbage.
I remember I did so many attempts of a No Batteries, Lockers, Beds run on Insane difficulty before. Took months of trying. Eventually I got the layout of pretty much the entire game, as well as learning the A.I functionality. As well as found out the best method of flashing Night Vision while preserving one battery for the entire game. How happy I was finally getting those last few achievements needed to garner my 100% completion of Outlast. I'm pretty sure my fastest run without glitches was around 40 to 50 minutes. With #1 out of the way. My goal was to then 100% Outlast 2. But I haven't even dared try it yet. Maybe sometime down the road when I'm willing to sink hours into it.
I am so beyond happy to see you playing this game. I used to speedrun glitchless% years ago. My fastest time was just under an hour, although I never recorded or submitted it.

outlast, damn I watched Markiplier played this year's ago when he started uploading it, this made me cry, i played this game on a cheap laptop and every phrase that mark said at every corner came out of my mouth because I watched the series 10 times
Imagine being the monster minding its own business then all of a sudden its gotta watch a random journalist step out of his car, teleport through walls, sprint on top of safety railing and dive bomb into the machine keeping you alive. Next thing ya know he's going to be using that end game bullet to multiply his velocity and in a single frame launch himself back through time to falcon punch the testicles off of the monsters father therefore aborting him before it can take its first breath. All of that packed into a sub-10-minute speed run. God Bless the tenacity of speed runners.
The fact that he was clicking to open the door regularly at 24:03 pains me. If you run into half open doors you will shove through them automatically, opening them manually slows it down.

Judging by the video, the cutscene only triggers when you jump far enough to the left so that you're in the area where it normally triggers.

Outlast 2 is much harder than outlast 1 with the insane no battery run. I wasnt that good at the game so it took me right around 2 months to complete
