I have the same guitar and added the following upgrades: -Gotoh hardtail bridge, I had to drill a hole in the plate for the 6th string, since its body hole is further back. It's noticeably better quality than the stock one, but I doubt it affects the tone or sustain much. -Gotoh locking tuners, really nice upgrade -SD Black Winter bridge pick up, it should have been a trembucker size to fit perfectly, but oh well -Graphtech tusq nut, makes a HUGE difference, but it's tricky to file it down to the perfect height It plays and sounds amazing now, I keep it in Drop B. Only thing left to do is to replace the neck pickup as well and maybe the electronics. Also it's worth noting that the matte black paint is cheap and shines up really quickly in places where the guitar is frequently touched.

Super, mate🤘 I'm thinking also about Gotoh bridge🤔 Maybe later will change.
I own the walnut finish version of this guitar and its a little bit annoying that you can see the 3 different Parts the Guitar was made of. Black finish seems quite nice
Great guitar. Setup out of the box wasnt Great but that's what an allen wrench is for. sounds pretty good considering they're stock pickups. The neck feels good and comfy. Not too thick not too thin at least for me anyway. Very smooth and playable. The color has a sort of grey sparkly glitter top quite my taste but honestly for the price it's damn good. $229. I may just strip the paint sand it and make my own finish on it. Also mine had grounding issues which won't be any issue anyway since I'm installing an emg 81tw/89r set in the next couple days. The buzzing noise would dissappear once my hand touched the bridge or strings. I upgraded the tuners temporarily with tuners from an rg 6005feqm i had laying arojnd for parts. Replacing the stock nut with a tusq nut. I'll keep adding whatever mods I can to it just because why not lol. Next is bridge and may some locking tuners at the end cuz they're expensive. Also an emg afterburner gain boost mod might be a good idea too hmm.🤔
@@K_R_N. No way. Even the GRG42FM is better. And its about $400. Personally I would go for the Sire LarryCarlton, its a steal. Not to tal about the Schecter Demon and the C-6pro.
@@kruse8888 You mean the RGA42FM, it's literally the same guitar but with a slightly different body shape/color. Pickups and hardware are irrelevant, since we're talking about modding anyway. Idk about that Sire, it's probably good if you like strat looking guitars, I don't. I have a Schecter hellraiser that's about 5 times more expensive than my Gio, I prefer the Gio after all my mods.
@@K_R_N. The same guitar? Everything on the Fm42 is a step up from the 121. Body, fretboard tuners, Electronics, all better. The 121 is an entry level guitar and thats exactly what you’ll get.
@@kruse8888 It has the exact same bridge, stock non-locking tuners, cheap plastic nut, pots, switches, etc. It has shitty ibanez pickups like the Gio and they both have bolt-on maple necks. Both guitars also have really good fretwork and QC for the price (at least from my experience) As a modding platform, they are essentially the same. The differences are in the body shape and finish, which is subjective. Also the pickups in the rga are probably a bit better, which is irrelevant since we're talking about modding, and the pickups are always the first thing to be replaced in that case.

Hi. Nice job. Love the golden look against the black. Did you get the humbuckers or the trembuckers for your guitar?
Awesome demo, would be better with " before" sound
How did you remove the Gio Label ?
The head is removable so i guess he just painted it
how did you remove the gio name on the headstock?
Thanks for the video! Couls you please tell me what brand/model are the locking machine heads? Also. did you have to drill to install them?
Thanks!
Not at all, bro🤘
Actually, they're some Korean nonames😁 But quality is awesome & no need to drill anything.
Cool man
I'm really close to buying this guitar but I had some doubts about the finish. What are your thoughts?

@@Spiezid just ordered a black one yesterday. I didn't like that too
@@jankowalski6338 Have loads of fun with it. Its such a great Guitar. Perfect Tuning stability and the neck is really great.
@@Spiezid thanks. I have spare locking tuners so if they fit I am planning to change them but it looks like will have fun with it.

What pickups did you use?
How did you removed the gio?
Just painted it black with a marker, but later it corroded the "Gio" letters and I just removed them with a napkin😉
@ buddy its a sick modification loved it really
@@dailymetal3498 Agree, bro🤙 My personal "custom shop"😁
How you sealed the hole of tone? cool mod btw.
Adhesive tape, bro😁
@ lol
Is there a way to put a trem system on it?
Nah, mate, so so idea😉 Need to drill body, it's better buy another Ibanez with trem on it🤙
🤘💀🤘🔥🎸🎶‼
Worth the upgrades in your eyes man?
Have the same guitar am thinking some better pickups...
For sure, mate, worth🤙
Guitar sounds more evil than before🔥
What pickup you change to
Bridge - Seymour Duncan DIMEBUCKER
Neck - Seymour Duncan SH-2 Jazz Model

Au niveau des aigus je trouve les micros Ibanez plutôt léger. Pour le sustain aussi.
I would have spent those $500 on a better guitar to start with.
Any $500 guitar would be a lot worse than this one with the proper upgrades. It's a really good modding platform.
