Arkham knight was ahead of it's time

It's kinda sad how both Rocksteady and Ubisoft both took so many steps backwards going from Arkham Knight to Suicide Squad and Black Flag to Skull and Bones.

Although that's true i believe the whole "live service" fiasco is also at fault.
It has been shown numerous times that implementing live service in a game consumes A LOT of resources. So instead of having a solid foundation of a game (with good animations, physics, features, details) they have a mediocre one because a lot of money and time went into multiplayer, battlepasses and monetization.

It’s crazy how almost 10 years later and Arkham knight is still one of the most stunning games ever.
It’s the reason I bought my Xbox back when it came out. It looked like something I’d never seen. Just incredible graphics and detail. Such a quality game.
I'm gonna replay Arkham Knight tonight just to punch up Harley Quinn some more.

@@victordiaz7713 the credits roll at different speeds with different fonts as so forth, but the coop live service approach requires a LOT more hands on deck than a single player game. Bottom line is that with all those extra hands, there should be a commensurate increase in gaming quality which these types of games never deliver.

Not only that, but Arkham Knight released on the last gen consoles and used UE3, while the Suicide Squad is current gen on UE4. It is insane to think that the last gen game looks better than the current gen game.
People chalking this up to graphics aren't seeing the forest for the trees. I'm sure on a technical level, Suicide Squad has better graphics. The reason Arkham Knight looks so much better is because the Arkham series cared about good art design. Graphics are fleeting. Art design is eternal. Games with a good sense of art design and aesthetic age much better and have more longevity than those that don't. For another example, it's why the Bioshock games are still beautiful to look at even though they have graphical capabilities 2 generations old.

You don't know what compromises RS had to make to get SS running at 60fps and on Series S at all
AK assets are so much more darker as opposed to SS. Darker assets are easier to embellish* as opposed to much bighter ones.

The amount of big studios that just declined or are non existent these days is depressing.
SSKTJL may not have as bright glowing lights as Arkham knight but it has a bigger map, lighting that is still bright in some areas of the map, it has a day and night cycle, quality of the game is 100x better, you can actually see the pores in the characters, and the animations are better.
I think it might be whos left at the studio for graphics

Some things that are better n Suicide Squad:
1) There's wind that moves hair;
2)Day and night cycle(in other games it was only night);
3)Wheater cycle(in Arkham Knight there was only rain, except the Nightwing DLC);
4) Facial expression are really expressive unlike the gales that came before.

No it's not multiplayer it's the freakin Dev team if you know anything about level making they basically compiled the freaking level without this visual lighting remember live service is the choices in games like keeping it online all the time and shoving microtransactions and other things to keep the money flowing through not the visuals in multiplayer is multiplayer it doesn't hurt adding a few extra spawn points in the levels for other people to join in not the visuals
The thing here is, it's not Arkham Knight that was ahead of it's time, it's just that this game lacks in quality in almost every single way
