If your talkin about the Street Fire Ignition, you should be okay with your 440hp 454 Chevelle. If this is mainly a street car, I would recommend the Street-Fire ignition. If you planning more for a street/strip with future upgrades, i would look into our 6AL-2 Programmable box, PN 6530 or PN 6421, the non-programmable box.

@kreigsmann A capacitive discharge ignition box like the 6a would do wonders for all around performance of your engine. Inside the ignition box, is basically a transformer that steps up the voltage big time. Note the comparison of stock and MSD ignitions. The multiple sparks per combustion cycle take place up to 3000 rpm, so all the more reason to add more firepower to the plugs. Installation of CDI will increase engine efficiency. You dont need an MSD distributor to take advantage of an MSD box

@kreigsmann What kind of vehicle do you have? Is it points or electronic ignition? We do offer Ready-to-Run Distributors which have a built-in ignition module so no MSD box is needed. Generally, going from points to an MSD will give you a very noticeable difference. Let us know what kind of vehicle you have and we can go from there. Thanks.

im tuning up my car from old worn out OE 7mm wires 20,000V coil and cheap distributor to MSD 8.5 wires blaster coil and ACDelco plugs and stock distrubutor.
is the difference going to be big not having a MSD box and distributor.
i dont care about rev limiters or choosing RPM range.
and is there a MSD distributor that will fit without having a box?

im not sure its a 4.3 CPI Chevrolet engine.
im not sure if it is points. im pretty sure it is electronic because it has plenty of wires going to the distributor. i do not know very much about ignition other than MSD does it best i just need to know more about it.
the reason i dont want to have the timing box is because i really never use RPM to my advantage the engine redlines at 5000 rpm i have no need for timing advancing and retarding. that and i dont really want to budget 500+$ for ignition.

I have a 2006 Impala ss and I am installing a cold air intake by K&N, a magnaflow catback, as well as a super chip power programmer. I plan on installing 8 GM LS2/7 Series Coils p/n 82478, with msd Spark Plug Wires p/n 32829, I would like to know how much this will help my build as well as what spark plugs would be best to use.

after 3000rpms the ignition cycle is so fast there is no time/point for multi spark.

I want to put a ignition box on my 3 cylinder 1.0 ltr geo metro engine. I already have the blaster coil with stock wires. I tried to put on your streetfire ignition box but it wouldn't work so I got a refund. I have found no clear instructions to install these on any Suzuki vehicle.

Suzuki guy with 3 cyl, they don't make anything for a 2 or 3 cyl engine. Some other guys do, you'll need to surf around.
