So my lights turn on and off (not at specific times) but they don’t follow the set timer (on/off pins) even though I’ve set the “time” (of day) correctly. Short of buying a new timer piece, I don’t know what to do with this thing which is all over the place.
Hi Mary, it is hard to say without seeing it. However, from what you described it is possible the mechanical clock is broken. This would unfortunately require a replacement piece or simply replacing the entire unit.
@@nicholselectricrochesterny4818 i think you’re correct…the piece to turn on and off the unit gets hung up (like the ON is too hard a hill to climb) and won’t turn flip the ON switch … it gets stuck. I am going to give it one more night to work correctly and if it doesn’t I’ll buy a new mechanism.
I have a Tork 1109a. It worked fine after install, now it locks up at the off tripper. I have to pry it out in order to reset the off tripper. Still no fix.
@@johnnyerwin1809 honestly I have not. I've look online and many people has brought it up as well but none with explanations as to why it happens. I'm assuming it's an issue from the factory.
Just had one installed but it would not shut off. Come to find out the off setting arrow jams up and the leg on the back that’s supposed to hit the off switch misses completely
i have one of these mechanical dinosaurs and fails every year motor replacement among other issues . is there an alternative digital device to these mechanical timers?
If there was not sufficient power running to the unit, or, sometimes the mechanical motor inside will simply just die over time and will no longer turn. If that is the case, a new unit would be the easiest way to resolve the problem.
Anyone know why the “on” wouldn’t have enough force to trigger it to turn on? Turns off fine, but I need to manually give it some “help” to have it turn on in the morning for my pool. Any thoughts are appreciated
Any suggestions on how to deal with the wheel clock being loose? Mine is just spinning freely and won’t stay in place
I have this same problem! Did you ever get a fix?
Life saver 🙌 thank you
I installed a new one and wiring properly,
My concern is if the the timer’s small motor made a noise when it is on?

I'm replacing 2 for the same reason right now. Its seems like a common occurrence. These are only a couple months old.
@@PuzzledVeritas Did you find out why this happens? I don't want to throw money away time after time.

Same with me

I hate these god damn things I set the time correctly put it at the time I want it to come on and off again and yet again it failed.
what would be the most common reason for one of these timers not to work

Rusted mechanical parts can be a cause too.

It appears that these are unreliable. Mine will not turn off just like many of the commenters. Will not buy again.
