Using a box mix is still baking in my book, when I use box cake mix I like to sub ingredients to improve the taste like oil to melted butter, water/milk to buttermilk/sour cream and add vanilla extract

Baking does not always have to be from scratch, my mom and I use boxed cake mixes all the time when we want a cake, or cookies from a package. It is still baking even if it premade batter.
I volunteer to make desserts for the local military veteran center’s suppers. Boxed or from scratch, baking is fun. I always say “I’m a Betty Crocker in the kitchen but if you get in my way then I turn into a Gordon Ramsay.”
