i don't have downs syndrome but i am autistic and i honestly love the down synderome girl song and episode. even with the rude comments typical of any family guy episode ever about anyone, stewie and chris treat her like anyone else in their world, and i absolutely love that the biggest part of her character has NOTHING to do with disability. she's just a bitch, like any other bitch, and i love the way they portrayed that.
As someone also on the spectrum, it was nice to see them at least rest her like anyone else. It also helps that her actress is also a person with down syndrome.
NTs seem to think autistic people are either angels or demons, never in-between. And yet we're the ones who are supposed to have black-and-white thinking.
Anyone getting offended from Family Guy there's no helping you. Family Guy mocks anything, and everything and while some of their jokes are terrible it is how Family Guy is.
I agree. Most people just don't get it. Animated shows can push the envelope with their content because it allows us to look at our worst behavior through a childlike lens. I'm not quite sure if I'm explaining what I mean exactly right. Just my opinion
That's my take with South Park too... they make fun of everyone, and I just laugh. Like any time Family Guy made Irishman jokes I just laugh cuz it's funny
Season 3's 'When You Wish Upon a Weinstein' is a good episode. I mean, yes, Peter gets the wrong impression about what it means to be Jewish, by trying to convert Chris, but I thought the episode was still enjoyable.

I don’t know… “aged horribly” means that they wouldn’t apply or make sense today. I don’t know how that really applies here but maybe someone could explain.
Aged horribly also applies to stuff that was originally played for laugh straight (as in, it's not playing devils advocate to get the laugh, the joke is that the situation is actually funny) but the shared conscience moved on from that. One example is "terrorist attacking new york", which was a common trope up to the start of the new millenia in every media to the point of being handwaved as something that just happens, yet it has been a soft spot for america for over twenty years
Trust me, when it comes to issues involving minorities there are more misses than hits. There are a lot of stereotypes and family Guy that we're already played out when they aired. Very played out. Especially, when it involved the lgbtq+ community.
Aged horribly? Dude, we don't have to talk about South Park, American Dad and so many more shows that cover dark humor. Either people deal with it or not, nobody cares about it anyways cuz it's just a fugging show 🗿
South park as more of a "look at how impossibly bad is the concept when we push beyond any realistic limit" which, granted, doesn't always work with how america evolved in the meantime
The first episode always hits so close to home for me. Being insecure about that literally ruined my teenage years and it's probably going to ruin my adulthood too.
How DARE you not show him running back in for the balloons!!!!!! One of the funniest moments ever on Family Guy! Second only to Carter tripping and accidentally whipping him. Im not a big laugher at tv but those moments made me scream with laughter.
I think "And the Wiener Is.." and "He's Too Sexy For His Fat" aged fine. If anything, they aged better than modern Family Guy episodes. One is about overcoming feelings of jealousy and inadequacy over the things which are innate about you; it's just done from the most basic angle that men can be insecure about: the size of their manhood. The other is about the extremes of positive self image; while its good for your confidence, it might drive to your ego through the roof, trying to hunt for constant validation. 'Peter Griffin: Father, Husband.. Brother?' is an episode about taking accountability for your actions, instead of your ancestors before you, particularly when it comes down to race. The truth is Peter didn't live through black hardships, back when slavery in American history was prominent, Nathaniel 'Nate' Griffin did. In today's culture, people practically make up perceived offenses to justify the need to get money out of people and call it 'reparations', through manipulative white guilt; in this episode, the black community is portrayed in a more positive light. Honest folk looking out for each other. The point of the story is to look beyond the surface, the innate and unchangeable (like the color of one's skin), and value them on their merits. 'Family Gay' is basically Peter's personality being overwritten by a gay version of himself. He's operating off of stereotypes, obviously, but he's not being malicious. Even him leaving Lois for Scott wasn't done because of hatred, but it was because of their lack of compatibility, which this persona brought forth. I look at him in this episode similar to how tiny arms Peter was: he's operating off a large physical change in his body, which he cannot control.
12:10 um actually ☝ lol but actually the way Jewdeusm is passed down in families is by the mother and in some cases they won't be "considered" Jewish unless the mother converts to Jewdusem
