The answer is no lol they are going the apple route with small incremental changes each year. Stay with the phone you have especially if it's after 2018. If it's older than 2018 or severely damaged somehow then yeah upgrade. Otherwise save your money.

I plan to upgrade from the S23 Ultra. A two-year upgrade cycle feels like the right sweet spot for me. @livolas Not quite the same. Already on the S24 Ultra over the S23 Ultra: - Display: Significantly brighter (2600 nits vs 1750 nits) - Flat screen (vs. curved on the S23 Ultra; a huge plus for me) - Screen properties: Anti-reflective Gorilla Armor (continued in the S25 Ultra with the 2nd gen Armor) - Build: Titanium frame (vs. aluminum on the S23 Ultra) - Processor: Improved performance yet more efficient (better battery life) - Cameras: Minor improvements to camera hardware and image processing
@aexetanius brightness doesnt matter. - Never felt the need for a brighter screen than what i have on s21u. - Flat screen doesnt really matter, it is not innovation. - Titanium changes nothing, just a bit lighter. - Processor always changes. It's not like you need that extra 10-20% performance.
@@livolas Curved screens are problematic with screen protectors. They were a novelty that added nothing to functionality while complicating usability and durability. As for the processor, did you miss the efficiency part? Battery life on the S23 Ultra is decent (for a power user), so improvements are welcome. Battery life will further improve on the S25 Ultra.
@aexetanius a phone cover goes over the screen, so it doesnt matter if it is curved, it can never be damaged. I dropped my s21u many times and nothing happened to the screen. Yeah, efficiency is always welcome, but most of the time you dont need it to reach the end of the day. It's not like it is worth buying a whole new phone for 1 more hour of battery life.
Hi Salian, Happy New Year to you and your team 💐 Tell me, I have S21U. Almost 4 yrs old device. But still working fine. Only issue with Battery, getting discharged to 30% by evening once charged up in the morning with normal usage. Battery life shown as Normal. So do you suggest me to upgrade to S25U?
Hey hi, Thanks wish you the same.. you can try a factory reset which may improve the battery life, if it’s still the same then battery would have deteriorated so yes you can go ahead and upgrade it…
Have you done a video on this labs feature? Setting->connectivity->wifi->intelligent Wi-Fi-> tap on it 4 times it gives you new connectivity labs features
The S23 Ultra is the best looking and will look the least outdated design wise out of them all. Performance wise it has got all of the powerful and efficiency benefits of the newer phones (compared to the S22U lacks quite a lot in battery and a little in performance).
I have s 24 ultra and i still using my old s 22 ultra still last me one day at minimum usage . Use your phone at maximum display resolution and I will guarantee you the battery will drain like mad on all samsung devices 😊
Yes there has been major complaints with the s24 Ultra screen and the anti-reflective coating!! It has been failing at a high rate after normal use and makes the device useless for resale because of the way it looks! The only way to resolve this issue is to replace the display on the s24 Ultra which cost $300 if you have someone else do it or 150 to 200 if you buy the display and do-it-yourself.. the anti-reflective coating being on top of the display is an absolute mistake as it will eventually break down.
Im on an S21 FE right now. Honestly no issues, but the Red Magic 10 Pro that just released has me itching for a flagship phone, so with the S25U about to release, I'm considering buying the S24U. Just like cars, its never worth buying the newest model year. Save several hundred dollars by buying the S24U, especially if you buy refurbished. I also love the S24U look, not a fan of the change for the S25U. Looking forward to it's launch though, hopefully the S24U drops even a little bit more.
Great review! I'm now stuck between waiting for the Z fold 7 in Jul/Aug or getting the S25 ultra this month. I'm currently holding a Z Flip 5, and the bottom half of my screen is starting to flicker occasionally. Any advice would greatly be appreciated!
The obvious answer is no. I upgrade every year and rarely see a difference. The reason I upgrade is the trade in deal I got from Samsung. I received $800 towards the S24U. I got the Samsung case and earbuds. If Samsung offers something similar, I will be happy to trade in for the S25U.
Is it worth pre reserve s25 ultra? Can you help explain the benefits of pre reserving if it is worth or not... the vouchers said they can't be used for the next galaxy purchase but something from the store for a limited period?
Hi, I usually watch all your videos, so for me, I have a S22 Ultra, and am waiting for the S25 Ultra> only thing waiting for is the new processor. I thought the 22 was my last phone, but, I'm still kicking, so S25 is for me next month. sad but true. But I'm happy. Can't wait. Also, I been hearing complaints about the film on the S24 Ultrq screen peeling (the no reflection stuff) A bit concerned. One more thing, the battery. Everyone, including Samsung says it's a 5000ma battery. It's not. It's a 4855ma battery. I tested it with two different testers. Both said the same. 4855ma.. Samsung is just lying, and everybody just accepts this lie. Anyway, keep up your good works!
From the S2 onwards I basically upgraded every year, last 6 years every 2 years, now, with an S23 Ultra itll be 3 years....unless a great flip phone comes out. Improvements in each iteration are smaller and smaller as time goes on.
My S24 U is awesome, so my question is how much to upgrade on a trade-in to S25 U or wait and see what a S26 U will cost on trade-in next year. I agree not required for sure , but how much better is the S26 U going to be. It's a never ending loop .
Inshort 1sec of the video - No matter which S series post S20 you have upgrade to S23 Series be it S23 or S23 Ultra as per need. Low cost and better than whatever the Samsung fools currently planning or making Reg S24 Ultra the only Safe Snapdragon on the group wait till Feb Mar 2025 then price will drop heavily due to S24.5 would be launched by then
Since about Note 10 or Note 20, the screen has stayed just over the 6.75". The screen never really increases in size even though the bezels get smaller. Why are the manufacturers so afraid to market a 7" screen? No, I do not want or need to fold my screen. My pockets are big enough to handle an extra quarter inch of screen size! I have heard the argument about not wanting to compete with the smaller tablets, but tablets can be used as a phone using VoIP, especially if they have Cell service, either internal or by dongle. I have never gotten a straight answer why carriers don't support the tablets making direct voice calls, though somehow texting and browsing are no problem. There seems to be some kind of industry-wide collusion to force people to buy products with certain specifications for certain specific tasks. That is why I will keep my Note 9 again this year, because I will not have the industry tell me what to buy because what I want is not available. A long time ago, I had to wait twelve years till I was finally allowed to take my phone number with me when I switched to a new carrier. I am willing to wait another fifteen years till a 7" screen is offered, and my tablet can make native voice calls. Will my Note 9 continue to operate for twenty-two years? We will see if the S40 Ultra is right for me.
There's somewhere you said that samsung may be will be offering 7 years of software upgrade which is already on s24 series and "S23 series " i really want to confirm if s23 series also have 7 years of software upgrade.
Thank you for the clarification. While I own an S23 Ultra and appreciate its robust performance and subtly curved screen, the four-year software upgrade is still significant.
I have a pixel 6 and want to go a galaxy but these dont even seem that much better, could even be fine to go s24u lol. My phone keeps dropping connectivity and having issues and i plan on emulating and gaming on the s25u which is the main reason i want it woth that elite chip. I just wish it was more of a definitive upgrade so i felt pretty good with having a s25u for 4 years with no concerns. Like an improved battery or something
Modern phones nowadays tend to last for a few years and I think my S23 Ultra is still pretty good to go and I see no point in upgrading to S25 Ultra anytime soon.
Most say they get a full day's battery life even with heavy use. But why am I only getting 3.5-4 hours of screen-on time, even with heavy use and bad battery life with normal use, too?
IMHO, if you're a normal non-gamer person & you have an s20U and below, it's maybe time for an upgrade? If you have an s21U & up in great condition, change the batter & enjoy your phone until the updates expire cus you're not gonna notice that much of a difference on social media RUclips. and other normal things. We do on our phones if you're an enthusiast or a gamer have at it upgrade.
If you are planning to upgrade your phone, I recommend buying the S24 or S25 series. These phones are eligible for 7 years of Android updates, which means you can trade them in at a higher price just like iPhone. Only Google and Samsung changed update years.
S25 Ultra upgrades New M13+ panel with higher peak brightness of 3000Nits New 50MP sensor for the ultra wide camera Snapdragon 8 elite which brings efficiency and performance gains New design: Thinner bezels and rounded corners Seamless updates 16GB of Ram option to handle more AI tasks New AI features 2nd Generation isocell 200MP sensor, Apparently improvements to video. Launching with one ui 7 out of the box, Not a big deal since predecessors will get the update. It's fine for rhose upgrading from like s21 ultra, those who miss the rounded corners. Otherwise. Idk why we aren't getting excited for the s25 Slim, from rumours it seems great for people who miss slimmer phones
Can you make a video for the galaxy plus version? I live in the netherlands and have no snapdragon in my galaxy S24 plus. Is the battery better with snapdragon? I must charge the phone once a day with normale use.
Correction: S23 series is eligible for 4 years of OS and 5 years of security upgrades.
What about non-ultra users? I love compact phones. I am using S24 now. Should i upgrade it to S25 or not?

I have the S23 ultra as my main phone [for now] & might get an iphone as my second phone. I feel like the s23 ultra will still be my fave samsung fr
Great review! I'm now stuck between waiting for the Z fold 7 in Jul/Aug or getting the S25 ultra this month. I'm currently holding a Z Flip 5, and the bottom half of my screen is starting to flicker occasionally. Any advice would greatly be appreciated!
I still have my s23 ultra. Doesn't disappoint. I want a z fold
I have S23 Ultra and I am upgrading to S25 Ultra!
from my knowledge s23 series is only getting 4+5 years of androidand security update rt,or 7 years like s24 series?please clarify bro
Yes I made a mistake
The obvious answer is no. I upgrade every year and rarely see a difference. The reason I upgrade is the trade in deal I got from Samsung. I received $800 towards the S24U. I got the Samsung case and earbuds. If Samsung offers something similar, I will be happy to trade in for the S25U.
after a long time I get a chance to see you
Is it worth pre reserve s25 ultra? Can you help explain the benefits of pre reserving if it is worth or not... the vouchers said they can't be used for the next galaxy purchase but something from the store for a limited period?
Well with all pros and cons informed..It is a personal decision to buy or not to.Noone else gets to give a verdict
Yeah it’s just my thoughts.. lot of viewers ask me about it so sharing it.. end of the day it’s your call
I've said this in many posts myself, yet all Samsung fan-ppl come out acting as if I am making it up. I have an s22U, so I should know.
I'm on the S23U and am looking forward to the S25U. I upgrade every two years.
From the S2 onwards I basically upgraded every year, last 6 years every 2 years, now, with an S23 Ultra itll be 3 years....unless a great flip phone comes out. Improvements in each iteration are smaller and smaller as time goes on.
I don't like auto updates. Even when disabled on current Samsungs I'm forced to update
As an s23 ultra user, the flat screen is my reason to upgrade, never liked the curved edges. Curved edges only made sense on the first note edge.
Would a 65-watt charger do anything bad to my battery?
💯💯💯Agree !!!
My S24 U is awesome, so my question is how much to upgrade on a trade-in to S25 U or wait and see what a S26 U will cost on trade-in next year. I agree not required for sure , but how much better is the S26 U going to be. It's a never ending loop .
S23 ultra was a gem in the series with perfect curve. The last best phone
Inshort 1sec of the video - No matter which S series post S20 you have upgrade to S23 Series be it S23 or S23 Ultra as per need. Low cost and better than whatever the Samsung fools currently planning or making
Reg S24 Ultra the only Safe Snapdragon on the group wait till Feb Mar 2025 then price will drop heavily due to S24.5 would be launched by then
Watching this video on my 6 yr old S7 EDGE ❤
No but if u have more than enough money yes!
We will see if the S40 Ultra is right for me.
will wait until camera reviews come out. i was disappointed with samsung camera software on my s24 ultra
Right call!
Same here with zooming issues when zooming in, it goes blur and dull,
I'm sticking with the S23 Ultra.
There's somewhere you said that samsung may be will be offering 7 years of software upgrade which is already on s24 series and "S23 series " i really want to confirm if s23 series also have 7 years of software upgrade.
Hey hi, I made a mistake there.. it’s 4 years for 23 series I believe
The cameras are gonna be a downgrade for you, but everything else is gonna be awesome.
S25 series upgrades :
1. Battery because of 8 Elite
2. More AI (Perhaps)
Who is the person who can't wait for 10 min for the install process?
It dont take 10 minutes. Sometimes, software updates are already installed 😂 we dont even know. After waking up boom. All done
Who is watching from a S24 ultra that you will surely keep???
If you are planning to upgrade your phone, I recommend buying the S24 or S25 series. These phones are eligible for 7 years of Android updates, which means you can trade them in at a higher price just like iPhone. Only Google and Samsung changed update years.
My S24 Ultra will stay with me until it stops getting updates.
S25 Ultra upgrades
New M13+ panel with higher peak brightness of 3000Nits
New 50MP sensor for the ultra wide camera
Snapdragon 8 elite which brings efficiency and performance gains
New design: Thinner bezels and rounded corners
Seamless updates
16GB of Ram option to handle more AI tasks
New AI features
2nd Generation isocell 200MP sensor,
Apparently improvements to video.
Launching with one ui 7 out of the box,
Not a big deal since predecessors will get the update.
It's fine for rhose upgrading from like s21 ultra, those who miss the rounded corners. Otherwise.
Idk why we aren't getting excited for the s25 Slim, from rumours it seems great for people who miss slimmer phones
Thanks for sharing, I think if the slim exists it may come with a battery performance drawback.
Can you make a video for the galaxy plus version?
I live in the netherlands and have no snapdragon in my galaxy S24 plus.
Is the battery better with snapdragon?
I must charge the phone once a day with normale use.
No phone Samsung has ever made has a one day battery if you're a heavy user. Please stop spreading Samsung propaganda.
