i've seen ads on craigslist and indeed needing sub and teachers around the time school was starting . I live in CA. I do not know for the rest of the country. I have also seen rich area try to hire teachers or someone with teaching experience to teach their children at home. Depends on the county and state. Some teachers are even retiring early thus then the need for subs in some cases.

At this moment in my life, I don’t see myself becoming a full time teacher.
Can you get health/med benefits if work work enough days?
You can if you work a certain amount. Each school district is different. That being said the benefits aren’t that great and they are expensive.
