Got recommended to me while i was listening to that song
Jin-roh wolf brigade was released in 1999. This anime was the inspiration for the Helghast according to the games developers
+Bravo Tango Cheesecake True, but this isn't the first movie to feature the protect gear. this manga and live action movies have been going on since the 70's, REALLY pre-dating Killzone. Sick and tired of these noobs thinking the Helghast were the first ones to think of glowing red eyes and gasmasks -_-

Pretty interesting how the Panzer Cops are dressed in the most menacing way possible and are basically killing machines when they don the amor and pick up the MG and yet they are the most innocent part of the entire movie.
Amidst the riots and violent protests which you'd think they would be placed frontlines instead of just normal cops with shields. I mean they practically demonstrated that the suits and plates can survive an almost point blank detonation and yet they only serve and execute discreet missions like eliminating the supply and delivery chain in the sewers.

I'd say the reason they aren't placed front and center is because they're intended specifically for killing terrorists, rather than mowing down protesters, even violent ones.
Another matter is how they're not liked anymore by the people they work under.
The government needs these riots to kill 'terrorists' if they used the Panzer Corps to end the riots they would loose that excuse.
It's easier to have policemen die and the tell a story about terrorism to keep the (rest of the) population docile.

The movie itself show that they had been use as Frontline against rioters, I think the execution show how they deal with it and why they are not used anymore.

Τhe Imperial Guard flashlights are probably better than Jin-Roh's slugthrowers, but the power armor is way beyond their means.
Those guys are not the imperial guard but more like the adeptus arbites who wear plate/carapace armor like these guys. If the MG42 is qualified for a "counts as heavy stubber" ..i don't know.. there is a lot of guard equipment that wouldn't look strange in WWII

To all the people making this about politics, the police force shown in the amv is used against people that are blowing up people and buildings. If you watch the movie it is literally the first thing told to the viewer.

The problem with that type of conflict is that once one side uses it, the other side will, but they will be even more brutal. It will just escalate. Gotta love humanity and our warlike tendencies. I mean, think about it, we have been around for a hundred thousand years or longer, who knows how many times we got close to interplanetary travel only to erase ourselves and start over.
