I just yesterday found this exact telescope at a second hand shop for 15 dollars. It has lots of lenses and accessories. This was a huge help, im excited to learn how to use it.
My second telescope in 1962 was a 60mm Tasco refractor on a GEM with slow motion cables in a beautiful wooden case. Great images. I just traded a larger Meade 6" optical tube achromatic for a beautiful 76 mm Tasco model 10 with clock drive, looks brand new from the early 60s in a beautiful wooden case. Been cloudy every night.
Nice video and wise words about not dissembling the lens elements if at all possible. I spotted an old Celestron Astromaster laying in someones front garden recently and asked if I could have it. Wet and mud had gotten in between the lens elements so they had to be taken apart and it took me ages to get them aligned again. Scope gives nice low power views of the moon but that's really its niche nothing more.
Yea this is a small basic telescope that I learned to pull apart. But tbh. It is probably akin to a toy

Sir, you put the main body the wrong way. The blunt silver end of the mount below the main body, points to the front, then you put the longer Flexible Control Cable (they're the long black handled screws shown at 11:34) on the other end pointing to you (the one with the notch) so you can adjust it You are using both in each side of the Hour axis scale (big silver dish-plate with numbers) makes no sense. The shorter is for the Hour Axis scale, and the longer adjusts the main body (the tube) further or closer to you. You can find better info by looking at the manual, search *Tasco 46-060675. Owners Manual* Otherwise, pretty NEAT job! you got a hell of an entry telescope. GReat video Sir!

Also I know very little about scopes. Learned everything in the last hour.
Hi there, I recently inherited this exact model and it was dismantled. I've put it together following your instructions, thank you. Can you pls tell me how to attach the eye piece with the mirror. I'm confused. Thanks!
hi Sandra, the component you mentioned is also known as the diagonal, do you have pictures? send me an email on enquiries@homerobotics.com.au and i can talk you through it
Thanks for uploading. I had the opportunity to view a rocket launch in 2018. Memorable experience. I shared a pretty cool montage of the journey to my page.
Thanks for the helpful vid. I found one of these, buried in my garage. I think it's a slightly older model (Tasco 302058). All lenses need cleaning. How do you remove the main lens hood? Many thanks!
@@HomeRoboticsAustralia Thank you so much! Yes, it came off with a bit of brute force! :D Now that my lenses are cleaned up, I just have to get used to the upside-down image. I wasn't expecting that! :-o
@@HomeRoboticsAustralia sweet thank you I wasnt sure I just got off buddy for free today and she needs some cleaning and I see it does t ha e any eye peice other the. What came m on so gotta find that next

Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately after the mid 90s when manufacturing went to China there was a massive drop in quality of the scopes

Thanks for your feedback. I suppose I just put it together for the sake of assembly rather than function. But you are right
Thanks mate

Dude that is awesome. Have u seen my latest rocket video?
We've misplaced our eyepiece for this model. Do you know what type of replacement we can get?
hey man. do you have a 1.25 inch or a .925inch slot ?
@@HomeRoboticsAustralia looks like a 1.25 inch.
@@hendonusgaming7312 no worries. this is a good set I recommend buying www.ebay.com.au/itm/283671735787
Hi, my dad helped me build the telescope but we can 't see anything in the lens. What to do?
it is best used for the moon and planets. u need to make sure your finder scope and main telelscope are aligned
@@HomeRoboticsAustralia ok thank you😄

Hey bud. See cap is removed by shear force. If it is an older metallic scope. It may be unscrewed

Excuse me, What's the model?
If you said it I didn't catch it.
Tasco Luminova
If you Said that... im sorry but how to zoom in and out ?
by changing higher focal length eyepiece to a lower focal length one
how efficient is the telescope?
it's not too bad. I prefer their reflectors
How do you take the dew cap or si shade off
it's actually friction fitted. so slowly rotate and pull at the same time. it will come off
