- Zotek sent me one of their Zoyi ZT219 multimeters for me to review. I've not reviewed a multimeter for a while and this one has a 20A current range plus microamp/microvolt ranges and a nice big display. Let's see if it is any good

This is my opinion the best multimeter for a low budget electronics enthusiasts and it has been so for many years. It's a rather old model, about 6 or 7 years. It is almost impossible to find a high count multimeter of another brand with this functionality at this price. It it also sold as the aneng AN870 or the richmeters RM219. I am happy you reviewed it. Of all low budget multimeters this one is really the most worthy of a review. The batteries last long, which makes it much more practical than that KAIWEETS thing you had.
I was petty impressed with it too
I did enjoy that. It's quite a nice meter, better than I was expecting. The display is magnificent and the update rate is very good. The low ranges are impressive. Too bad it lacks calibration. If I was shopping for a basic meter this one would be high on the list.
I must admit i was quite impressed with it for the price
1:49 nope, 10 nA, not 10 pA
I like that it uses AA and not a 9V block battery.
Good value for money.
Thanks 👍🏻🤝🏻🇳🇱
@@Plons0Nard I hate multimeters that take a 9 volt battery. They are expensive and they don't seem to last as long and and I just hate them!
Rich, the REL. button is clearly visible, it's used for zeroing the resisance of the test leads, supprised you missed it. Zotek make the ANENG multimeter.
I have recently ordered an Aneng AN870 meter. I've not received it yet but, from the pictures, it looks identical to this one. It is cheaper than this one as well.
@@thunderace7493 I should see if I can get my hands on an AN870 to compare 🙂
The diode bleeping is mandatory to me also and the most affordable multimeter which does it perfectly is the uni-t ut60s, or ut60eu/bt. I am using the s version, because it is with buttons and way easier to switch with one hand, but they all do the diod bleeping and their price is about the same as this zoyi :)
The ut60 series is very nice.I borrowed a 60bt once. Very good. Unfortunately the backlight doesn't stay on and I can't put up with that in the places I have to work.
@@guateque1718 yes, maybe the only downside is that the backlight not staying on until you turn it off, I think it stays about 30 seconds.. But I am not using it and it's ok for me :) But these meters are great, and the build quality is great I am using the ut60s on the bench about two years now and it's perfect
Richard, I just checked my Uni-T UT61D+ and in diode mode it beeps continuously on shorts and beeps once when it detects a diode junction. Cool feature. Never paid attention to it before. Thanks for the hint.
Yeah there are only a few multimeters that do that
That multimeter is the Aneng AN870. they are actually decent multimeters specially for the price. The Aneng an870 can be found for a couple of euros less. And the finish sentence on the video is Absolutely True and I quote: " ... You can never have enough Multimeters ... "
A lot of video cuts especially for capacitors. Another genuine Chinese multimeter. Nothing special. Are the probes made of silicon? Reading seems better though.
@@lambertax You are right it is not of course a Fluke, Keysight, Tektronix, Metrahit, or any other Top Brand. That it is not. But it does have precision and it is for the price a Very good deal. The probes are not silicone of course, cheap plastic. I think the probes are the exact same has any other Chinese cheapo multimeter.
One thing I notice on these multimeters is that they are slow even on the higher scales, having said that it is for me not a problem at all.
it is the other way around.
ZOYI is an original brand of Zotek, which is the OEM producing for all other re-badgers.
@@Mr.Leeroy Indeed it is. But the other brands sell for a couple of euros/dollars.
Your little Aneng 8008 still has it's screen protector on!
Hence the than perfect display.
It most certainly does not
zoyi/richmeters zt/rm-219/303 (303 is the same as 219 just slightly bigger, with 219 also appearing as an870) are the best value you can get.
diode blip is not as simple as firmware update unfortunately, these (dm1106en iirc) chips come factory programmed and customization manufacturer can do is limited to flashing configuration region that can enable/disable existing features.
I like blips in diode mode, just like Fluke does it.
Thanks for the review. I only have one multimeter and don't know how it compares to others. It usually does what I need it to do, so I haven't looked around at others. I wonder how fast others are though. I don't have an oscilloscope so I am trying to catch minimums or maximums on a signal and I don't think mine is fast enough.
Sorry I misspelled Detlef's name in a reply below and can't seem to correct it.
Judging by his little brother, you may have benefitted to left the screen protector on. 😊. The APO will still beep after 14 and 15 minutes but not shut down. I have two of these meters and it’s outstandingly accurate at all DC voltages at resistance from 5 ohms to 200 Mohm. Unbelievable value! 🎉
Thanks for the info
This must be made by Uni-Trend Technology Co. It has similar looks as their Uni-T DMM line. Good products btw.
It's a competitor. Not the same chipset.
I think and i use the KAIWEETS HT118A Digital Multimeter and i also have the KM602S which i have found to be really good meters and have been out few years, and have been reviewed on several vlogs for sometime now with good reports, and i know the HT118A is only £27.00 with the newer KM602s at £42.00 good value, just a suggestion rich, you could try using a little toothpaste and a cloth and give your meter a rub with that to try and remove the scuff marks and give it a polish, if it is dry use a little water to make a paste, also WD40 might help.
Ialso have the HT118A but I'm gonna swap to the ZT219 for geenral use as it has a more sensitve mV range which I liked. I must admit both are good value for money
Yeah, Aneng 870 with a different name. Probably all made at the Wing Wong Wah multimeter factory.
Heya, for every job there is a tool
You also want at least 2 multimeters just for sanity checking. If you have only one meter, how do you the measurements are correct? And of course, you might want to measure more than one thing at the same time.
apparently this meter is very accurate. i have an870.
I have the Aneng 870 which looks identical to this. Those probe tip covers are very tight but can be levered off with a screw driver. It is an excellent meter for the money
Does anyone know what the plastic slots are for on the back? The supplied probes do not fit in....
Hi Richard what's the best way to contact you. my gpu stopped working would you be interested in taking a look at it

The Zt219 and the Zt303 are the most impressive electronics meters for the price. They are essentially the same but the Zt303 lacks the rubber surround. Don't drop them, especially the Zt303.
The zt303 goes only to 10A
I WANT WIN
but when you do resistors and transistors you do have to look at the meter!!! so why is it different with diodes ??? and even when you test diodes you look at the meter for the value??? su why does it need to bleep ? it doesn't make sense Richard !!!
Its a time problem. Typically when repairing a unit, you are searching for faulty componenets. You want the most amount of information in the least amount of time. If you are quickly probing components on a pcb, using your eyes on the board, you can use your ears as well. I quick beep or sustained beep gives a good amount of information for very very little time.
@@MrMersh-ts7jl Yeah exactly this. My Fluke does it and I got so used to it I can't use anything else for thast type of fault finding. Oh of course then there is the Mr Bleep version that Det and me built that goes one step further with different blip tone for silicon and schottky junctions 😉
@@LearnElectronicsRepair I can understand other people not needing it, but when you're in the repair field and time literally equals money that beep can make money
No we did not see it clearly the micro amps your overlay was over the display !!!!
yeah I know. I should have looked
