The one downside to this cast is that you don't realize that in the flashback scenes Meg is 17, Jo is 15, Beth is 14, and Amy is 12

Its been said many times but if I had a nickel for every movie adaptation of a popular/classic book where Florence Pugh is Timothee Chalamet's second pick girl, I'd have... two nickels.

@@NythicalReacts I'm 100% convinced that Denis Villeneuve cast Florence as Irulan on purpose due to Little Women. He'll get a lot of mileage out of Florence's ☹️ in Dune Messiah.

2:02 that scene was showing artists going towards the impressionist movement and leaving realism behind. Its supposed to show that Amy was taught old “proper” art such as realism but now that she’s in France and impressionism is becoming more popular she’s falling behind. Her art is amazing but doesn’t follow the political and social movements of the era, so its seen as overly traditonal and “of the past”. Its a subtle thing but very rewarding for people who know the history which adds to why Amy feels like a “failure” in her position.
