Wins a win. Glad to have our “wake up” game in win. Happens every year to every team. Good ones find out how to win. This game shows the growth and maturity we lacked a year ago.
Great to win, but we’re not remarkably better than any of the teams left. This was closer to normal than a wake up game.

You kidding right? If he could stop all the bad passes we wouldn't have to hope he does good for a rare moment. Look at his stats his pass completion percentage has gotten worse each game and if that continues he will cause us not to win. Remember having a good drive isn't what being special playing consistent is.

I totally agree with You, I guess some people forgot the ball that bounced off the running backs or the wide receivers during the game. And they forgot that We where one day away from being stuck with another QB that is on Our roster. Amazing how 2 weeks ago DG marched right down the field on what some folks said was the #1 team and they have the stones to call themselves a Sooner Fan.......... please.
Last year's team lost 5 close games. This year's team has won both close game's. Great football teams find ways to win. I'm glad we had a wake-up call and still won the game! BOOMER!!!

I’ve listened to this about three times and at the end I think I heard Coach Venables say that they’d be away for a couple of weeks in November for a major surgery for Mrs. Venables. I hadn’t heard that the cancer had progressed so far with Mrs. V so I hope this surgery is a knockout blow to it and I pray that the surgeons are skilled and that she has a quick and thorough recovery. I hope Coach and his whole family finds comfort with each other and their friends and in their faith.

Drake Stoops is a baller! Guy is clutch when we need a play to keep a drive alive. Just didn't get our takeaways today. Every team has a hiccup hopefully this was ours. Love the aggressive defense.

UCF was the perfect storm. 3-3 didn’t tell the story with them. With our offense starting 2 new OL, RB, and missing Andrel was huge

This sketchy game just feels different than close games in the past… before we’d just fold and the other teams mistakes would give Ilya the win. But now it’s our own adjustments and performance that’s giving us a win.

If you really expected this team to win a natty, you’re not being realistic. We’re two more years away from being really good.
That said, the improvements and the upward trajectory of this team are undeniable.
I pretty much agree KillerBrees. We get Davon Mitchell at TE next season and need to be better on special teams especially kicking field goals. That will cost us game soon. We’re still stacking elite talent everywhere. In a couple of years we’ll be something special and more complete.
Mr. Killer with great coaching this season and adjustments that need to be made and if corrected this team is definitely a title contender this year. OU can get it done with this team
Agreed. OUr improvement is ahead of schedule but this game let's you know we're not quite there yet. We did absolutely everything we could to run the ball on the worst power 5 team defending the run and made them look like the '85 bears. Without a kicking game and run game we won't get it done this season unfortunately.
Exactly. We still have areas to work on before they are Natty ready. But it's a great head start. Our chances are still better than Texas.😊

When you don’t put points on the board or sustain drives longer then two minutes you really do a number on the defense

This is a different game if we dont miss 2 field goals and have the Kanak penalty. Thats a 10 point difference right there. Schmidt has to get it together.

Kanak is a good player but he is not very mature, I've seen it in his podcast, he needs to be more serious and think about his actions.

This was a really good UCF team. UCF was at full strength for the first time since BiG 12 play began. Oklahoma got the team UCF was supposed to be. I knew it was going to be a tough game for Oklahoma.
Nope, 13 of the players were sick with the flu. Players were on IVs before the game and during halftime. Ucf was far from healthy.
As both a ucf alum and a sooner fan the end result is just what i wanted .😂 a close victory by an undefeated ou team that has everything to lose, unlike the knights. I am glad they dont have to play in the future LOL . But seriously, I hope ou can learn from this. The defense has potential but it NEEDS to be consistent if they want to win a confrence championship and at least make the playoffs. This defense still looks better than other years in the big 12 , that is for sure. Congrats on a great effort by the knights but ou made Big mistakes on defense they must learn to win a championship. Hopefully, this was a wakeup call
The "taunting " penalty on Kanak was ridiculous! That was a simple case of BIG 12 referees looking for something, ANYTHING to give UCF a new setof downs just like the Commissioner told them to.

DG had a great game. The defense held strong when they needed to. There were dumb mistakes. This team is 7-0. These are all facts. Nice W team 129. BOOMER

Boomer, 7-0, and glad the guys pulled it out at the end. Dillon interception not really on him, that was a rare mistake on Drake. No one is ever perfect but Drake close to perfection. Proud of all those guys both defense and offense. Maybe this game will help them to improve. Sooner-Bo

You can tell they tried to place a ton of emphasis running the ball during the off week...Im just convinced at this point its a lost cause. Didn't think we'd miss Gray as much as we've missed him this season.
I hope our team doesn't get sick after all of those post game hugs with UCF. They have several players infected with some sort of upper respiratory virus.

The Def gave up 200yds on 4 plays. That can't happen if you're expecting to be a CFB Playoff contender...
Savion Byrd needs to start and play more. Look at the 4th qtr last 2 drives by OU and you can see the difference when he is in there. The O line is more physical and better at running.
I was thinking just the opposite. They need to find a different position for Byrd as he generally doesn't look like he knows what he's doing. Confused out of position acts like he does not know how to block at times or maybe I don't know what I'm talking about.
They had to move him to the right side because he was more familiar with the system since Cayden Green got the start. He did well considering the new job.

Now why TF would it be wishful thinking my own team loses more games? No, you’re on wishful thinking they win more than 10. We’ve struggled with everyone except Tulsa and Ark State. This is not a dominant team and our margin is small.
Odd Texas had a tough game against Houston, Should have been tied and gone into OT !!! Not uncommon to have an emotional let down after a very emotional game ! Interesting, we are a better rushing team when we have Tawee at RB and Byrd at Guard !! No question ! Sawchuk had some better runs late !!

They still had him. UCF didn’t have to deal with OU’s top two guards, Tawee Walker or Andrel Anthony. One guy adds a half second onto his 40 time and the other side is MISSING multiple starters. 🤔

The college game in a nutshell. A few very bad plays; 2 missed chip shot field goals and a personal foul on the goal line. Just cant happen against better team.

People want to praise DG for having a good drive and are quick to forget that his usual bad passing is the pattern of play thst puts us in a bad position. Lebby needs to not be so quick to give up on the running game a Sawchuck is who he needs to stick with because he seems to be on back with speed. Freeman they need to quit counting on him, he has had one play and that was first game last year. Some games Lebby seems like he only uses 4-5 plays and other games he does awesome but today wasn't one of those days. Defense is dam good but today they didn't seem motivated, they got to keep the intensity. Finally we need a different field goal kicker, he missed in Texas game and again today. His mental part maybe messing him up and that's hard to recover from. Today we got lucky.

He caught a pass on a 3rd and short like he usually does but is too small and slow to break a tackle for a yard or 2 to get the 1st down. Thats what big TE's are for.
