Echidna is a great example of an “ultimate bad guy/mastermind” kind of character who is a lesser threat than their children, yet more of a threat than any of them combined. Due to her own monstrous ways, she only produced those beings as hinder or destroy civilization. Yet, she herself was not some unkillable being. Strong, yes, but not as strong as the gods. Typhon protected her, who was and still is a threat to the entire pantheon.
This is a villainous family. A home where the birth, raising, and releasing are only ever going to end in tragedy. Something you don’t see done seriously anymore in media. (And yes, Cerberus is often depicted as “three headed good boy,” but that’s not the Cerberus in the myths. He is the reason people don’t survive entering or leaving the domain of the dead, not some cuddle puppy.)
Well he is a guard dog and guard dogs are puppies with their master and a war machine against thieves.
No reason Cerberus can’t be both.

She's not exactly bad. That's just her nature being born of Gaia's wrath punishing the Olympian gods for imprisoning her children.

I’ll just say this comic art really does help me picture about what the creature would actually do.
When I learned about Echidna I was like ”wow this is an interesting creature to learn about”.
I love Typhon and Echidna; they are my favorite characters in Greek mythology and my favorite monsters. It's really surprising that Typhon is not the main villain in most Greek mythology movies. This was awesome! I love your videos.

In Marvel comics Echidna is the mother of Angerboda and grandmother to Hela, Fenris Wolf, and Midgard Serpent a nice tie-in with the Greek and Norse pantheons

I first learned about Echidna by watching Hercules The Legendary Journeys when she only has 3 children The Hydra, a she demon and the swaymptain bird. All brainwashed with evil by Hera to fight Hercules.
Do not forget Disney's TV series Hercule where she and Typnpn are voiced by Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford

The problem is that Echidna is not just a name for a single creature in Greek mythology. Almost all mythical creatures with the upper body of a woman and the lower body of a snake are called echidna.
For example, Heracles had a maid with an echidna in Scythia. She then bore him Skythes, Agathyrsos and Gelenos. The progenitors of the Scythian peoples.
The echidna slain by Argos is not the same as the echidna who had children with Typhon. Since this Argish Echidna has no official name, she is mistaken for Typhon's wife.
There's also Sybaris. An echidna that was wandering around Delphi and was slain by Eurybarus.
Echidna has some real beef with Heracles for killing her kids😂
One story said that she was the daughter of Chrysaor, who was the son of Medusa and that's why she inherited her snake tail but not her head full of snakes. Echidna, mother of all monsters. And plus, did this woman ever gave birth to a normal child man? Lol! And to know something else, Medusa is more honorable than the goddess she served.

It's actually pronounced "kerberus" and not "serberus".
Some say that Loki and Hermes are the same (not actually the same person but had the same part in the storyline) I disagree and now this that Loki who fathered Hel, Fenris , Jormungand , and mothered Sleipnir, has more similarities to this Amazing Mother Of Monsters in Greek mythology.

Fun fact: The greeks adopted a few of the Egyptian gods and monster into their myth. The Greeks assumed the Egyptian gods were the same as their own gods, but in different form.

Medusa was the daughter of Phorcys and Ceto two primordial sea gods. The Minotaur was the offspring of the Cretan Bull and Queen Pasiphae.
