    MItch was an ass that was for sure. His pride nonsense got tiresome. Jock and JR are only concerned for Lucy and when JR offered MItch a job as Ewing Oil, all Mitch had to do was say no instead of throwing a temper tantrum.

    I never liked Mitch and his overinflated ego, and it was huge. But I think it was JR's offer of a big house and a job at Ewing Oil that got under his skin causing him to blow a fuse. I laughed at the "living as one big happy family" like they do at Southfork comment since we know how untrue that is.

    Seeing these clips one more times certainly brings back plenty of fond memories of when I was much younger and how I would trade anything not even a Friday dinner at 9:00 pm.
    From 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm I was busy watching "DALLAS".

      I agree, not husband material at all whatsoever. Miss Ellie ought to be ashamed of herself. Jock, and JR were just trying to help because they were concerned about Lucy. All you had to do was say no, but instead you throw a temper tantrum like a damn four year old.

    I can see why a lot of people didn't like Mitch for Lucy. He was a bonafide jackass! I mean, all Jock and JR were trying to do in this instance is to help Lucy get started on a good note in life. I mean for god sake, if you didn't want the job from Ewing Oil, all you had to do was say no. But you, you knew a damn temper tantrum, and acted like a four year old. WOW! This time all JR, and Jock were trying to do is to help you, and Lucy. He was stupid not to take them up on their offer to buy them a house. I mean the Ewings had more than enough money to do that, LET THEM DO IT!

    • @derekmathews1818
      @derekmathews1818 7 лет назад +3

      Powerdriller, but there is a WAY to go about doing that! You don't throw a temper tantrum like a four year old. If you don't want the job, just say no thank you, and that's it. If you don't want Jock and JR to buy you a house, say no thank you. But what you don't do is throw a temper tantrum like a four year old when all Jock, and JR were trying to do is look out for her best interests. If that makes them terrible people, then they are terrible people I suppose.

    • @derekmathews1818
      @derekmathews1818 7 лет назад +3

      I know that Powerdriller, but that is still no way to act towards people who are just trying to look out for Lucy's best interest. His sister is a grown ass woman that decided to get involved with JR, the fact that she did was her fault. She can make her own decesions, and as for this superiority, when you have all that money, and power, it all comes with the terrority. If you didn't want the gift, just say no thank you, and keep it moving. But Mitch was a fool if he actually thought the Ewings, particularly JR and Jock were just going to sit back, and watch Lucy struggle while starting her life out with Mitch. I mean, she was really young at the time.

    • @joerules829
      @joerules829 7 лет назад +2

      Derek Mathews Actually, Jock was trying to help. JR was trying to impress Afton because he hadn't nailed her yet. He didn't give a flip about Lucy.

    It’s a shame that Dallas never really fully utilized Charlene Tilton. She was incredibly beautiful and had so much acting potential as well as natural acting ability. That look she gave JR at about the :44 mark was all hers. You really can’t teach subtleties like that which can be so effective in a scene.

      They should have had Lucy marry Cliff. That would have really shaken things up

    • @deontyler960
      @deontyler960 Год назад

      Even though I'm not a fan of Mitch this would have been OK with Lucy for a storyline. I think they should've created a supercouple love pairing with someone else with Lucy. The guy should've had a father who is a oil tycoon who has overcame his depression, drinking and losses that gained confidence to be successful.
      Eventually, the father would meet Lucy's father, Gary. Seeing old similarities of himself in Gary, he decided to help Gary to overcome his bad traits to live in Dallas to reclaim his life.
      As Gary doing well. J.R. feels threatened by this he secretly frames Bobby as sabotaging the fathers business and Gary's recovery. Lucy's love interest blames Bobby, Lucy disagrees knowing Bobby wouldn't resort to evil tactics. J.R. hires a woman to fix his drink taking pictures in bed like they slept together and Lucy walks in.
      Lucy is upset break things off, Lucy's boyfriend leaves Dallas thinking he lost Lucy, Gary leaves thinking he's a failure again. Cliff comes to console Lucy. Jock dies, Lucy grieves, Gary inherent a percentage of Ewing oil which he gives to Lucy. Cliff finds out about it and wants to marry Lucy as Lucy discovered J.R. plot to get rid of her boyfriend, his father and Lucy's dad .. then she surprises J.R. with her and Cliff got married and Cliff will be also working at Ewing Oil.

    • @deontyler960
      @deontyler960 Год назад

      Lucy grieving and hurt form a unholy alliance to try to remove J.R. from Ewing Oil especially when she learned the guy she loves us presumed dead while leaving Dallas. Later, Lucy finds out he is alive, but Cliff refuses a divorce. The guy returns to win Lucy over by going against Cliff Barnes.
