    I hate it when other khmers dont acknowledge us mon as khmer but we all came from the khmer bloodline.

      @@어쩌라고-b5v I'm Cambodian-American and I understood 0% of it. In my opinion it sounds like Khmer because of the consonant clusters.

    I was trying so hard to understand as a Cambodian. The language sounds so similar to Khmer but I couldn’t understand anything 😭

      I think you’re mistaken… it’s Thai and Vietnamese that does. We came from the same region in southern china and was pushed down by the mongols and later by the han chinese. It’s even in the name, Đại Việt while Đại has 2 meanings refering to the Dai people who later became Thai.

      @@muayboran6111 No, Mon and Vietnamese language has same root: ancient Mon-Khmer. Along with the Khmu, they are the original people of Indochina. Ancient Vietnamese is called the Muong people they call themselves Mon. Dai means Great and has nothing to do with Thai.

      @@muayboran6111 That’s false… « Mon-Khmer » and « Vietic » are two branches of the larger Austroasiatic language family- including several of the larger tribal and ethnic languages/groupings in India too. They are not related to Thai.

      @độc lạ B-D Muong and Khmer are native to Indochina, migrated since at least 6000 years bp. Tai-Kadais and Austronesians migrated from China much later. How about the Katu, the Bru, you think they are Negritos?

      @@어쩌라고-b5v There are many Mon people living in south-eastern part of Myanmar. You can also find them in Thailand as well.

    I’m Cambodian who living in Cambodia , I’m trying to listen she speak but to be honest 0% I understand her 🥲 but the way she speak like Khmer language

      Lanna and Laos is from Tai-Kadai language family while Mon is from Austroasiatic. It's not the same. But Lanna and Shan are quite similar.

      Mon - Khmer and Vietnamese are austroasiatic. Lanna and Isaan and Thai are from tai-kradai not the same group tai-kradai were speak in south-china but austroasiatic speaks in mainland southeast asia

      @@어쩌라고-b5v Lanna got a lot of influences from Mon/Burma culture due to its geography and its letters are derived from Mon letters too, different from Thai/Laos letters which are derived from Khmer.
