Kayla I know you may not want to do formula but try giving a formula atleast one feed at night. This definitely helped ours babies to sleep longer that stretch atleast 3-4 hours initially when they drank formula. It slowly got better, and more longer pacifier and sleep sack’s helped. Also space out the feed, as if not your baby is just using feed to pacify. also I know some add little rice cereal to bottle (haven’t tried that). Also try giving baby stretching exercises maybe once ir twice it really helps with gas. Also give yourself grace, I feel like it took 4-6 months for my baby to sleep longer at night. Also I tried not to pick baby up right away after sleep, unless my baby was crying. Also try having a mobile on crone so when he wakes he can look up and see things so it can be little distractions from crying. Yes, I agree on the cat, it’s still a living being that needs to be looked after too. You both have your hands full with new baby here, it’s ok to wait and give yourself and Joe grace before you add another responsibility.
Such a mom moment to be spelling out the words we don’t want them to hear. But then again- by the end of the year, smarty pants Riley will be understanding it all 😂
The heating pad in the bassinet is CLUTCH!! I completely forgot with my second born in 2020 we did that and it was truly a game changer because often times they fall asleep on us all warm and then they can totally feel the cold bassinet. Try it for sure!
Hi! I’m a mom of 2. In case you are on your own with the kids try to increase time spent outdoors. Sleeping in the fresh air is good for colic. In the park my bigger kid could play almost anything he wanted, be as loud as he wanted, meanwhile the little one had great naps. Plus we could decrease screen time to zero. It was a win for me as well because I got to socialize more and we managed to leave the house multiple times a day.
We started out breastfeeding but my body said no at 5 weeks. And wed had reflux issues, so then we decided to see if we could find a formula that would cut down on that. It took 6 tries. The formula night.are search is when we found out he didnt just have a dairy allergy, he also had a soy allergy. It wasnt the lactose in milk, it was the protein. We ended up with a specialty formula that already broke down the molecular bonds for both the sugar and protein, and had no soy in it. It helped a lot. He still had reflux and sleep issues that were from other health issues we hadnt diagnosed yet. But that specialty formula really did make a substantial difference with the reflux and the severe gas problems. It might be worth trying a specialty formula for a week or 2 just to see if it settles him more. You can keep pumping and kerp your milk supply going while you try it. I definitely support moms who want to breast feed. But if you get to the point where youve tried everything else, it could be worth testing out. I fully expected to be a breast feeding mama. I felt so let down and tricked by the world when my milk dried up out of nowhere one night. But in the long run, the formula battle (trying different formulas to find the right one), which had me feeling like even MORE of a failure as a mom, helped us start disgnosing issues we might have gone another year or longer without diagnosing. Personally i dont think I'll try breastfeeding for number 2 when its time. The entire experience was very traumatic and it triggered an aggressive response in a skin condition i have (due to the estrogen dropping as low as it does while breastfeeding) and i now feel like, i never judged other women for using formula. The only person i ever judged for using formula was myself. And both i and my baby did better with formula. Every child is different, and im not fully decided yet, but im leaning towards just going with formula to start with. Even if kid number 2 has no allergy issues with my breast milk, do i want to deal with let down nausea every feed again? Do i want to agitate my skin condition for over a year again? Its very painful. I take a lot of meds daily that are not breastfeeding friendly. These meds are both for my skin and for chronic nerve pain. A part of me thinks, even if its just 6 weeks, to help kickstart my babies gut health and immune response, which cant be duplicated with formula yet, maybe that 6 weeks is worth it. But it took me over a year for my medical conditions to stabilize after just 5 weeks of breastfeeding last time. Theres no garuantee that wont happen again, or be worse. And my first is a very healthy 4 y old now. Formula hasnt hurt him at all. I'd never question another mother's choice to do formula the second time around if she were in my shoes. But i understand that it is actually a hard decision to even consider. And its even harder if you're always sleep deprived because your baby isnt sleeping. I was right there. I discovered your channel back then while trying to find something to watch during those 20-30 minute naps. And this stage can be so brutal. Im confident youll figure out what your child needs. I hope it happens more quickly than it did for us 😅! Just wanted to share some different ways my own perspective changed over the course of this journey.
When I went dairy and soy free for my bub it took a FULL 2 weeks to see any difference at all. They say a lot of kids who are dairy intolerant are the same with soy because the proteins are so similar. Good luck!
Girl you can still use those recipes ! I use cashews instead or dairy soak them for an hour 1cup of cashews in boiling water enough to cover them then, run it through the blender until it's smooth then add it to your sauces.
Mine was a very similar baby...very fussy, never slept by himself. I tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked... he's 6 months old now and sleeps 3 out of 4 naps in his crib, but for the first 3 months, I was nap trapped. Sometimes there's nothing you can do about the fussiness and him not wanting to sleep independently, you just have to accept it and someday it'll get better ❤️
For concept, I tried dairy-free, heating pad, chiropractor, osteopath, drowsy but awake, fuss it out, putting my clothes in the crib, less awake time, more awake time...eventually I just gave up and played Zelda while he was napping on me 🤣
Hey Kayla My little boy was the same with red eyebrows when he was tired. At that age what I did to settle them in the cot for naps was swaddle him,pop him in his cot on his side and pat his bottom gently with the white noise on until they fall asleep. Once asleep roll him back on his back. I did this for 2 weeks and then reduced patting as he got older and he’d settle on his own. All about getting them used to sleeping in there own bed and comfortable in there own space. It will come for Sean
They make a dairy free heavy cream! You can also use coconut milk. I’ve recently gone dairy free as well and am trying to find alternatives. Nutritional yeast can also give you that cheesy flavor
Hey! Yes the news are harsh, i never have anxiety and my levels are slowly growing. On a diff note, our church has couple times a year couple date night, so its wonderful!❤
On the subject of blenders, I have a ninja and my parents have a Vitamix and they loved it(loved bc it doesn’t work as good and has major struggle issues for smoothies lol). It’s finally dying after like 10 years, but I prefer my ninja!
With our daughter, I had to switch to a dairy-free and soy-free diet. It's only for the troopers! Just know that you're doing what's best for your child, and that makes you a supermom. :) I leaned heavily on red sauce recipes, tomato paste based recipes, or chicken broth based recipes like jambalaya or arroz con pollo. There are a lot of ways to "doll-up" rice recipes without using dairy or breaking the bank. Otherwise, one of my favorite "cheat" dishes or fancier prepped kits were from "Kevin's." You got this!
I agree, I did the same diet and it was so rough! I love curry and leaned heavily on coconut milk curries, which makes everything taste decadent. I also did a lot of olive oil, fake cheese, herb recipes and home made salad dressings to put on everything.
Hiya Kayla, when I was dairy free I used to look up vegan recipes and then just meat on top! I found that was the easiest way to do it and the vegan recipes were always really tasty!
Hey Buell family!!! Blessings to you and family. I see baby Sean and im aww i miss having a newborn..then i look at my 3 year toddlee kicking and screaming and im like yeaaa im good lol.. love you all ❤
You aren’t doing anything wrong and neither is Sean! Not all babies have good sleep at first and it’s normal. Sleep deprivation is hard but you will ride it out!
Hey Kayla, I think the baby is used to sleeping while in motion since you’re doing chores/taking care of kids and house while he naps on you. So when you put him in crib/bassinet he’s not able to fall asleep for longer since it’s not in motion lol. Btw you’re doing great raising these tiny humans!❤ I have two kids and gone through this but what helped me was just having one place where my girl would sleep for all her naps in daytime. And then at night it would be crib next to my bed. Hope he starts sleeping better soon!
Get an old fashioned hot water bladder. It's rubber and had a thick cover on it. Your baby can sleep with it even. I used this with my daughter in Switzerland. Winter in our apartment was miserable. The house was built in the 1300's and had no insulation and the windows were crap. The bladder, 2 long sleeve onesies, a footed PJ, a sleeping bag, and a blanket pinned under the mattress was the only way our daughter would sleep. Once our daughter was rolling it was spring time and warm for the Karen's out there.
My daughter did this and she had silent colic and it was nothing I could do but to keep her upright after feeds and get her tested for allergies. Turns out she was allergic to the mother milk protein in breast milk and no diet can fix that.
Normally does helps more my daughter she is 5 months I know it's big of a difference but what I always do since she was a newborn and I gave her every single night and that would help her sleep might get better and stretches get better when she was a newborn till 2 months and a half I will bathe her every other day on those days I would put baby oil on her skin and simply just changed her into a new outfit and that would help her sleep but now that she's older I tend to shower her every single night and that really helps her sleep better
I'm the old lazy mom.......Enfamil Gentlease or Nutramigen for me.......a bottle in the night😂. Maybe a tbs of rice cereal 🤷🏽♀️ - my 2nd baby is due in January, and we were so cautious with the 1st due to reflux but this time around I ain't stressing😅
My baby really benefited from seeing a chiropractor trained in pediatrics. Babies can get really twisted during the birthing process. I noticed less crying and better sleep almost instantly. Hope this is helpful. Having a colic baby is no joke, but you are doing great!
I cannot imagine having a baby that does not sleep both my kids slept through the night by 6/7 weeks! I currently have a 7 week old that just started sleeping 8-9 hours at night!
I don't think Sean is very comfortable in that carrier- maybe a wrap would be softer. Plus the straps and his position look like it's hard to breathe or move at all in it................
My daughter loves to sleep but when we fussy what we do is swaddle snugly arms down and rock and bum pat. Or the carrier and do rock and pat. The swaddle is the super important part or we regret it
Also just got nuring under control wity this kid ( 1 month) so making sure super full from bottle helped. Waking her up many times when nursing helps to make sure a full belly..
It’s true, friend, the only way to stay ok is holding onto The Lord. Because those monsters are ambitious out there . And it seems there is always a fight to fight since Adam and Eve . And we all have to fight it, in the ways we can by prayers and whatever we can . Waiting out is dangerous . Lord with us 🤍🕊️🙏🏻
Regarding Shawns sleep- I’ve heard it’s hard for some babies to sleep when they are so close to mommy because they smell mamas milk. Maybe that’s part of it??
I notice the stuff on your stairs. I’m a neat freak. I find just a bin to put the items that need taken up make it look a little cleaner. I just remember you saying that your hating clutter. Not trying to call anything out
You have said that your son naps better with Joe because he doesn’t smell you. Maybe that will work at night. If you put him in the nursery and he can’t smell you. 🤷🏻♀️
As a new mom, I am loving these very real DITL with a newborn videos. Thank you for normalizing newborn life and keeping me company during this time!

silk heavy whipping cream is really good!

@kay you can used coco cream instead of cream for cooking its not mutch different as cream en its delicious ❤❤i hope i have helped you
Thanx for always sharing your faith. I love it. I love love love your videos and your family.

The world news are awfu! I recently began praying the rosary and the chaplet of the divine mercy daily and it has helped me tremendously
Yes heating pad. When we warmed up the bassinet everytime after diaper change, kiddo slept in it longer and longer

Bible study with Kayla ❤ love it
I wish she would do that. I definitely was paying attention when she was sharing her devotional.
On the subject of blenders, I have a ninja and my parents have a Vitamix and they loved it(loved bc it doesn’t work as good and has major struggle issues for smoothies lol). It’s finally dying after like 10 years, but I prefer my ninja!

Your skin is glowing!!!
Try 40aprons for recipes, everything I’ve tried has been amazing and flavorful (we do whole30 so no dairy)
I introduced a pacifier so I could get stuff done and sleep. So far it hasn’t interfered with nursing, he is 3 months. Good luck 😊
I can see Jackson so much now in Sean!
Primal Kitchen is also good because there is no canola oil in any of their dressings!!!!
Have you tried Mylicon gas relief? It worked wonders with our daughter when she wouldn’t settle.
You look so pretty I love ur nailpolish and the pajamas are sooooo pretty❤
Hey Buell family!!! Blessings to you and family. I see baby Sean and im aww i miss having a newborn..then i look at my 3 year toddlee kicking and screaming and im like yeaaa im good lol.. love you all ❤
I loooove my vitamin. Threw out my ninja one. Didn’t blend well and too noise
Where is your bassinet from please?
Happy weekend sweet friends!! ❤
You aren’t doing anything wrong and neither is Sean! Not all babies have good sleep at first and it’s normal. Sleep deprivation is hard but you will ride it out!
My husband is currently deployed overseas in Saudi Arabia and all the stuff happening in the general area has me so nervous for him

Country crock has heavy cream! Cheese was the hardest for me when I did it for my youngest

A pediatric chiropractor was life changing for my daughter! Birth gives them so many tight little muscles that it can really make a difference
You are amazing 😊mama ❤❤
My daughter did this and she had silent colic and it was nothing I could do but to keep her upright after feeds and get her tested for allergies. Turns out she was allergic to the mother milk protein in breast milk and no diet can fix that.
You need a vitamix. Ninja is not good. My mom had that one, but it wouldn't make good smoothies. So I bought the Vitamix. What a difference!!!!
Orgain protein powder from Costco is really good ! Not to mention you get the best bang for your buck at Costco 👌
If you do the ascension press kids homeschool course, can you do a review on it please? 😊

Yes Kayla, we all need to get closer to the Lord.
Huckleberry sleep app!!!! Helps find that sweet spot for sleeping 😁
The Vitamix 310 is a good model cheaper than the usual vitamix
It’s true, friend, the only way to stay ok is holding onto The Lord. Because those monsters are ambitious out there . And it seems there is always a fight to fight since Adam and Eve . I quit the news back in 2010
Regarding Shawns sleep- I’ve heard it’s hard for some babies to sleep when they are so close to mommy because they smell mamas milk. Maybe that’s part of it??
Have you ever thought of him having reflux issues? Good luck mama!
I hope you don’t get turned off my miyokos the mozzarellas and butter are a lot better
I notice the stuff on your stairs. I’m a neat freak. I find just a bin to put the items that need taken up make it look a little cleaner. I just remember you saying that your hating clutter. Not trying to call anything out
Try camomile tea for yourself every night and then breastfeed him for better sleep
The cream cream is by - Mykonos , pronounced mik-uh-nos 😂😂😂
Have you tried giving him a bottle off dairy free formula at night.See if he settles better and Joe can give him a feed
You have said that your son naps better with Joe because he doesn’t smell you. Maybe that will work at night. If you put him in the nursery and he can’t smell you. 🤷🏻♀️
We are in the end times. The Bible gives us signs. God could return anytime. Only God knows the time of His return. But He gives Christian signs .
I like your vlogs but you talk a way too much and show less stuff about kids and house. May be talk a little less and show mora
The channel is about her and the kids are a part of it not the main focus.
