Hi, Abigail. I am an older language learner, who is studying Spanish (primarily), Italian, and Arabic. I just happened to see your link for this post pop up on another channel I view, and it intrigued me. As a result of your post, I have developed my own language learning bullet journal. While it is adapted to my own personal style, it follows your quite a closely, and I look forward to seeing how well it helps me stay focused on my own goals. I already feel a great deal more focused. Thank you for sharing your approach. -Greg P.S. Enjoy your Germany trip!
Thanks for this. I've seen a lot about bullet journaling, but none of it looked like something I could get my head around enough to use effectively, as someone who's chronically disorganized. Your system makes a lot of sense to me and seems very doable.
it feels so good to see a bullet journal that isn't perfect, i often feel a bit bad because my spreads doesn't look as good as those of the other people lol :)) good luck with your language learning :D (i'm french btw, please tell me if i made any mistake, i'm learning!)
Oh God! I found this channel today! I am so late :'( I thought (always until last few month) I am only person who loves learning language, who doesn't discontent just one or two language! I am so happy 😍 And ur journal will help me 😁 Thank you
Oh my god, this definitely helped me figure out what I want to do for the bullet journal I'm planning to start! I've recently run across them on RUclips and decided tonight that I will be using one for language learning. So I searched on here and this was the first one in my search and I'm so glad I found it. I'm definitely going to try out that language tracker idea. I'll eventually do my own video on what I'm doing with my bullet journal after a month or so I think and figure out what I like. I need to go do some more search. Haha
That's a pretty neat idea for learning languages! I tried writing a bullet journal on my PC or phone, but I find it a lot easier just using a notebook.
This is so amazing!! I plan out everything but for some reason never (in detail) my language learning. You just inspired me! Thank you! Hopefully now I can stay more in track with each language and what I want to accomplish with them.
I used to be the same and never plan my languages, but I've found that setting clear goals and then tracking them has helped me accomplish so much more! I hope it works for you!! -Abigail
Great job! I believe this is going viral a bit :)! Good for you guys! I'm currently in the process of learning Mandarin, might try something like this.
Dude, I really like this spread. I've been wanting to add some kind of language-learning spread to my bullet journal, but didn't really have any ideas. This looks really nice.
I love your colored stripes method! I have a habit tracker for various things and use highlighters, but this is idea is way better for a tracker focused on language learning IMO (I was thinking about it, I do track some language-related tasks, but not the learning in itself and using highlighters like I do now would be messy.)
I used to use a habit tracker, but I found that I had a hard time actually filling it in each day. Now I just add certain habits like working out and replying to Polyglot Progress comments into my daily to-do lists and track my languages separately in that tracker since I find that a bit easier! -Abigail
I just subscribed to your channel, because I'm also learning quite a few languages! I had to put my language lessons on hold due to life issues, lol. But I will be starting up my language learning again in December.
Added to my public playlist, "Tips by others on learning foreign languages." I use the notepad app of my cell phone to organize this stuff. Usually I write lists of study materials I want to use to study a particular language, then mark the ones I want to use first. Or I list languages I want to learn and why, to help me decide which one to start (or restart) studying this month. But occasionally I'll use the app to log the studying that I did on each day, which I use to motivate myself to make a new study routine into a habit. When I notice that a page is no longer of use to me, I delete or archive it, or I let it slowly fall lower in the list as I add new pages.
Thank you! That sounds like a really nice system! I've found that digital planning really just doesn't work for me, though I definitely agree that planning out language things and keeping logs can help to make language learning into a habit! -Abigail
I love your bujo so much. As for Insta bujos: they may be the reason why some people, including me, never made their own bujo. They all look like they were created by art majors.
I kind of only clicked on this video because I get uncomfortable of getting stared at by thumbnails, but I really love this video and your bullet journal (and you seem like a really nice person)💕
I love the tracker. I'm going to add that to my book Edit: Did it for my French, I have a log for each month in 2018. Tweaked it a bit but this will help a lot. Thank you!
this is great!!! I have a 3 year calendar that I may start doing my language tracking in. I loved that...I just posted a video practicing several of my languages haha it's fun...I've followed your other channel for sometime but recently started following this one too ❤️
You need to learn Portuguese! Yesterday I just finished the Duolingo course, so I'm not very good yet (I need to practice), but Portuguese is one of my favorite languages
Haru ' In all honesty, the only part of Portuguese I find especially difficult is the pronunciation, mainly because of my background in Spanish and French. Portuguese also made Italian easier in a weird way
True! I also think its difficult (As a brazilian who speaks english) for international people how in portuguese we have this feminine and masculine thing, idk if u understand what im talking about;
I'm impressed you're working on learning multiple languages at once. I'm trying to learn 1 (Norwegian) and can't imagine adding in another without getting myself confused.I'm already mixing in Norwegian with the tiny bit of Spanish I remember from high school. Is there a trick to learning multiple "second" languages at a time, or is it simply something where the brains of some people are wired to be able to do so, and the brains of others lack that wiring?
I'm sorry i know my english very bad i know I finished turkish bullet journal videos now started english bullet journal videos. i like your channel you very success
+MielikkiXV welcome! I only do it when I feel I have time to dedicate to more than one. During school I was focussing on 1 language, and even that was one I was mainly improving and not learning the basics in. Great video! I'll probably never do this, because I'm not creative and have no patience, but it still looked like a great idea. I've never even heard of a bullet journal. Is the tutoring session with Matt you tutoring Matt, Matt tutoring you, or you and Matt tutoring someone else? And what language, or other subject, is being tutored (if it isn't private)? I think that you guys are my favorite polyglot channel. Have either of you tried Assimil? I'm finding it so much better than Teach Yourself (but that's probably just a personal preference).
Neither of us have yet! I wanted to get the advanced German one in French, but the Enjoy German book by Teach Yourself ended up being much cheaper and much more accessible. I'd definitely love to try it out in the future though, and I'm pretty sure Matt feels the same! -Abigail
I'm trying to keep up with my french studies and learn more Korean in addition to piano practice. It's not easy as an English teacher in korea. I'm not supposed to speak Korean to my kids, so I don't often speak in my target language. I have read or watch a film in order to practice French since no one here speaks it really.
Saluton Abigail!
No not a film major. I was one. U can learn all the technical aspects in 3 months. Just create leave school now or change majors or double major. That's too many languages at once. How do you do that?
I'm at different levels in all of them. Zienab Elshafay I'm studying Korean and Japanese if your dedicated it's easy also sticking to one language you could loose inspiration but if you have a nother language to practice you can take a break from one language so you don't feel over bargained
I'm learning Japanese and Chinese and I don't have problems. You should take your time and try to practice (I mean speak). At home I speak in French-russian-german and even if my sentences are strange (because of the mix) it's a good way to repeat new words
+Polyglot Progress thank you for replying 😍 😘 that's encourage me to continue my journey I'm in a advanced level of English and I just started learning online French
Zienab Elshafay in Flanders we learn English, French and German at school. Some students also learn Latin and Ancient Greek. So I'm sure you can learn more languages at the same time :)
Bulgarian? Really? I must admit I am genuinely impressed. Most of the foreigners I know haven't even heard of it, let alone have any desire to study it. If you're still interested and need any help, let me know (I'm a native speaker)
my native language is portuguese, i'm in a satisfactory level of english (or i think so) i'm advanced in japanese begginer in korean and almost feeling like intermediate in german, strong based spanish but still far from fluency, thinking about start chinese and french
Wow, congratulations, I love being organized with the things I have and love to do and this video helped to add new things on my language calendar =) I'm new here, how many languages do you speak?
You probably get asked this a lot, but what is your highest proficiency in one of your languages? How do you decide when to stop and move on to learning another language?
Highest proficiency is definitely French! I'm somewhere in the C range, I haven't sat an exam though so I don't feel comfortable calling myself a C2 yet 😂 When it comes to deciding when to stop and move on to another language, I think it's best to do so when you've reached a fairly comfortable level with the first one. Personally, I usually like to take a break from languages after I complete a project. After I finished Complete Teach Yourself German I moved on to Bulgarian for Add1, and then after Add1 I took a break from that. I find that then I feel ready to move to something new and am also usually in the right place in my learning to do so. -Abigail
Do you really find Duolingo effective for language learning? I've done many courses in languages I already know and just noticed how many mistakes and very unnatural expressions there are in those courses which makes me doubt the other courses would be any better. Especially for courses like Japanese I would really encourage you to learn with a book and other sources instead as it's more effective. Another completely unrelated question: Why are you holding your pen like this when you're writing? I noticed that a lot of girls do this. Is it because of long nails? It's looks really weird and exhausting to me. Or is that way of holding your pen just more comfortable and you kinda figured that out for yourself?
STATIONARY, ORGANISATION AND LANGUAGES OH MY
also this was so relaxing
Planning is my passion
-Abigail
Polyglot Progress it's an addiction
This exactly!
I KNOW RIGHT IS THIS HEAVEN
Practice makes progress
Higor that statement is way more better than “Practice makes better”
"Good" practice makes progress.

I'm from Bulgaria and i was shook when you said you were learning Bulgarian :D
Ah! I love the language!!
-Abigail
Abigail, can you revisit this subject? I think this is great but would like to see how your journal has changed.
wow this is inspiring! thanks a lot 👍👍👍
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
-Abigail
Your video gives me a lot of inspiration, thank you so much ;)
Is it okay to learn multiple languages at the same time?
Sora no Hoshi it is completely ok and might be more beneficial to some people. some people get bored easily.
Hi! Thanks for the Idea 🥰
I really love it and I with to do plan , good Luke
1:50 How do you learn 4 languages in a year? 😱
Also, how do you learn multiple languages simultaneously without getting confused?
I'm sorry i know my english very bad i know I finished turkish bullet journal videos now started english bullet journal videos. i like your channel you very success
Hello i love this channel..i just found it now...how do you find to learn multiple languages at the same time?

Great idear what language did you start with?
awesome
Thank you!
Great video and layout! I was wondering what does the task French --> Spanish Tree mean?
I was doing the Spanish tree on duolingo but for French speakers, so it was French language to Spanish language!
-Abigail
Ah cool! Thanks for the reply~
How can you handle all those languages? Do you have any problems with studying so much in the same time?
Hello, I wish you would make a video about your bullet journal!! please please please
Great video! I'll probably never do this, because I'm not creative and have no patience, but it still looked like a great idea. I've never even heard of a bullet journal.

Polygot Progress learning 2 or so language at once, how's it?
I'm new to language learning I've been trying to learn Spanish but I want to start mandarin too can I do both?
I'm 20 I know age is a factor
House Phone Sure! I would try to get the basics down in Spanish and then start with Mandarin.
It's more about how much effort you put into it
House Phone Yes, I think you d have no problem at all. They are completely different from each other
House Phone Yes, I think you d have no problem at all. They are completely different from each other

You inspired me to know more than one language! Just a question, how many Duolingo lesson do you take daily for a language?
u learn 3 language at once isn't this confusing?!!
I'm at different levels in all of them. I'd never try to start 3 from scratch at once, but I don't have much trouble balancing languages of various levels, especially since my French is very advanced and most of my study is course work for my major or me maintaining my level.

You show me this Tip it reallly important for me.i will practice it daily.i want to learn free languages id English Chinese and korean. I like it.
Working on my 3rd: Russian
But the notebook is nothing like a bullet journal, rather than writing conversations.
Wow, congratulations, I love being organized with the things I have and love to do and this video helped to add new things on my language calendar =) I'm new here, how many languages do you speak?
I say 5, but I'm really comfortable in about 4 at this point and I'm studying more currently, so overall it's a bit complicated lol
-Abigail
Thats so cool! I learn french, italian, english and german :D
does it mean you must learn drawing before learning language
No! Not at all!
-Abigail
You probably get asked this a lot, but what is your highest proficiency in one of your languages? How do you decide when to stop and move on to learning another language?

I plan on utilizing this method for my own studies!
¡Gracias y buen suerte con tus muchos idiomas!
fiquei muito feliz em ver que você quer aprender a falar português, espero que consiga e venha ao Brasil algum dia !!!!
Love your voice 😍
