U can buy faster frequency RAM. No need to get the same frequency ram. This is the only criteria which we can choose for better performance. Rest can't be chosen. Like if you have 8 GB in first slot, you have to get 8 gb for second slot.

@@anujmuzik Ok. They will never say these things. See what happens. If you install higher frequency RAM, Because of the 7th Gen processor the clock speed may be limited at 2133MHz. As far as I know starting form 8th or 9th Gen few things got changed. Older processors were not supporting much stuff.

Just get SSD first. Ram will not help. Laptop is slow because of HDD. RAM is only useful for multitasking.

Yes. you can do it only issue is better you go with 4GB 2400 MHz only. 4+8 GB will effectively not be 12GB due to load balance. So just 4gb 2133 mhz+4gb 2400mhz. is fine

Yes. Logically it will only use bigger RAM which is 8GB. The load balance mechanism get disturbed. U will see in computer 12GB but it will act like 8GB. So just 4+4 is ideal. Also ur laptop is only 7th gen. Total 8gb will be sufficient.

It depends on your motherboard whether it supports dual channel or not.
If not, dual channel ram will be useless because it will not appear after installing it

No don't do that. Logically the memory will act like 16gb due to load balance. It will not act like 24gb. U can upgrade to 8+8 or 16+16.

Can I upgrade from 2gb to 8gb in hp notebook 2000 with pentium processor? (64bit)?

Yaa u can upgrade up to 4gb. Don't get 8gb. Not required.

My laptop is DELL VOSTRO 3401.....which has 2 slots which supports upto 2666 mhz and I want to upgrade my ram....One 4gb ram is installed and other slot is empty.....I want to upgrade my laptop to 8 Gb Ram .....So my query is that should I buy one 4Gb ram for the other slot or buy one 8gb ram and replace with the previous ram stick....I confused because will the laptop work smoothly if the rams are of different brands.....but of same frequency
You should buy 4 gb only for 2nd slot. That will be fine

Nahi. Aisa nahi hota.. 😊 Just that new ram jada frequency ki lena sahi rahega.. Haa agar budget allows, you can replace old one later

Go for 4gb only. 8gb ram wud not be much useful.
So total ram u will have 8gb which is sufficient.
