- Most FIFA fans associate English football with either the big names and money of the Premier League or the gritty hard work of a League Two RTG, but the Championship has so much to offer that often goes under the radar. From massive historic teams and dramatic finishes to talented players and exciting storylines, the Championship has it all. If you’re a fan of a Championship side, let everybody know in the comments why your team is special and the most fun. Today we’ll be answering three questions, why is the Championship better than the Prem for career mode saves, what are the best storylines to try to recreate with Championship teams and finally, how can you have a fun save playing in England's second tier.

I just wish the Championship and Football League 1 & 2 had an official broadcast package in the game. But getting the Serbian and Greek leagues in Fifa is a bigger priority for me.
We need more Asian leagues in the game like Indonesia, Malaysia and the best of them all, the Philippines.
@@NanobanaKinako Kind of agree that the Indonesian league should be in the game as well as the Japanese. But the league from the Philippines? Would be very cool but i think its one of the worst ones from Asia. Iranese league is also very good for Asian standards.
@@xBatboys4they should go with South American teams first we need the leagues from chile Colombia Brazil and second division in Argentina
@@fiightergoat When we had Chili and Colombia in the game it was not an success. Im pretty sure that is why they deleted it. But all new leagues are welcome and should be an improvement to the game. But i disagree for me Serbian and Greek league personally would be much better.
@@xBatboys4 yea I mean everybody wants a particular league in the game, at this point they should just try to add as much as possible but we know that’s not gonna happen
I love championship career modes. Anyone seems to be able to pop up with a title when you least expect it. Theres just so much more competition but without that lack of quality. The top teams like Burnley watford and Norwich can still have some exciting young talents and many clubs have decent budgets too. The added challenge just really makes it more exhilarating and just makes me more attached to my players which I love. The championship is something else.
Reading still hold the record for the most points in an English Football League season, having collected 106 in the 05/06 Championship season, to reach the top flight for the first time ever. Historically we always languished in the third and fourth tiers, but we had a bit of a rise in the 90s under Sir John Madejski's ownership, where we built a new stadium, reached new heights. spent three seasons in the Premier League from 2006 to 2008, and also the 12/13 season, even being a point off European football in 06/07.
Now the club is one of the most long serving clubs in the league, having not been in a different league since 2013. We've had an absolute roller coaster, from having false dawns to point deductions. We lost the playoff final in 2017, to Huddersfield on penalties, having led in the shootout 3-1, just days after being bought out. We went into the 17/18 season with a decent squad, but got stuck in a relegation battle. We kept overspending on players and sacking managers, and ended up with a transfer embargo that will end in summer 2023. We were in a relegation battle last season, and had Derby not been given a point deduction, we would've been relegated. We're having a decent season under Paul Ince currently, being just a few points outside the playoffs, having been favourites for relegation in July.
We've got a mix of ageing players, young talents, dead wood, and out of contract big money players, which is why I think Reading is a great idea for a Championship career mode, because it has a mixed squad, and decent amount of recent history in the last 25 years, that has kinda been ruined by overspending and points deductions.
There's not much you can do in January in your first season, if you want to abide by the embargo rules, because it only allows 25 senior players. The first season should just be to get an idea of you want to keep for the next season, although a player who isn't in Ince's plans right now are Ovie Ejaria, who could be frozen out of the squad. Your second season would be a rebuild of the team, where you'd want to challenge for top 6, but probably not spending more than a couple million, if any money at all throughout the season. Unless you get promoted in season 1, it's potentially unrealistic to keep both star men, Yakou Meite and Lucas Joao for season 2. You should probably stick to signing players around 70+ overall on free transfers at the start of season 2, and a few on loan. Reading typically end up signing 4 or 5 players every season on loan, to max out the amount of loanees allowed in an EFL squad. Once you're in the Premier League, signings get a bit more difficult, but maybe stick to top Championship players, and loanees from top Prem sides, and a few from abroad maybe.
Can't wait to do this career mode myself when I get FIFA 23. The Championship really is the best league in the world to watch, although I really wish we'd get out of it lol.
More passion in this comment then my Christian family on New Years
@@0penly1nsane it's because they're traditionally a lower league club they just got blessed with a brilliant owner in the 90s and 00s
Well as a burnley fan I'd love to see reading in the prem with us next year! Good luck!
You're possibly the most tinpot team in the championship absolute waste of space hopefully you're in league 2 in a couple of years time
I ain’t reading allat
Sunderland is legit the best career mode save in my opinion, rebuilding them and bringing them back to the premier league where they belong and further
I prefer to start in the Championship instead of the Prem. I recently started a Huddlesfield CM (in FIFA 22 heh) and I've been really enjoying it! The only first team signings I've made are: Josh Sargent (maybe a bit unrealistic) and Ryan Ledson (during January's transfer window). Then I shipped away 2 or 3 players I knew I won't be using at all and then loaned the youngsters and signed a couple of trusty backups: Doyle (Sunderland); Watt (Bardford); Locadia (ex-Brighton, in the 2.Bundesliga) and Esquivel (a LB from Union in Argentina - i'm argentinian so I play to sign a few players from there). I think the squad and signings are realistic for the level, the highest transfer in was Ryan Ledson for a 1.3M + Jonathan Hogg. Then a 3/3 youth scout in two missions so far: England (3 months) and Wales (3 months): so far I got a PTBS RW and an EP RB. I play in Professional and World Class when I face the top 10 teams in the Championship. Honestly, so far so good! I'm really enjoying it and my past experience with CM was leaving the last 5 saves I've started not 2 months into the save. Now past the Jan transfer window i'm top of the table with 5 points off Middlesbrough. I fancy my chances to get to the PL, if you guys want to give me some suggestion on transfers for a newly promoted team, i'm up for it! Great video as always man, keep it up!!
The championship is really good. I did some nice saves with: Stoke, Sheffield, and Swansea. The mix of youngsters and experienced players is great, with real stadiums and history together.
Bristol City has some of the best talents in the league
No they fucking don’t 😂😭
No real stadium😢
@@benhardcastle2305 7 players that easily get over 80 overall.. i’d say that’s decent talent for a second tier
@@tuomaslilja1027 stadium is really really accurate though. the stands are the exact same
We’ve always had good youngsters, we just sell them for 10 million or so and can never keep hold of them
Bro your output is insane at the moment!
Thanks for your videos ♥️
I'm a Cardiff City fan! I'm Welsh and from just outside Cardiff so supporting them is a must! I find the team very interesting as it's history is quite cool, highly recommend checking it out!
Awesome! Will sub!
Hi I love your channel, I'm from Brazil, do you have a video or could you make a video with the official rules of the first division of England to the third division?
I did a Hull city CM and the highlight of my experience was finding Pulisic in the free transfers. We became OP after that
My team is Hull and here’s why they’re fun to use:
• Two high potential loanees from Chelsea (CAM Harvey Vale and GK Nathan Baxter)
• We also have some promising talent (CB Jacob Greaves, ST Sayyadmanesh and LW Sinik)
• We have our stadium (MKM Stadium formerly known as the KCOM Stadium)
• There’ll be a few interesting stories to do (finding the new Robertson or trying to recreate our 2014 FA Cup run)
We’re doing bad irl (21st at the time of this comment) and I think it’ll be a good challenge for people 😊
I'm a city fan we are doing alright but we need a brand new st
@@jacktem3396 who’s available though? I’d say Oscar’s doing well, and Tetteh’s a decent second striker. Only problem is Sayyadmanesh’s injuries
Been doing a Swansea save. Loved the Champ seasons I was in. If you like doing a realistic CM then its the best way to go. Limit the FA signings and sell when the offer is good enough. It's wonderful but once the eventual promotion comes, then it loses the joy because everyone is too good after a few years of ratings growth.
same bro I did a save with norwich city and the champ season was so fun that I was playing it all the time and got promoted in 3 days and I tried to not sign too many players knowing that norwich's irl signings are always shit but even though I survived the 3rd season got boring and I quit it
No matter how hard you try in FIFA, you ALWAYS end up in the Champions League with a team like Coventry, with a fortune in the bank.
Playing a Sunderland career mode really enjoying it. Just been promoted to the prem and beat villa 2-1 on the opening day. Cannot wait to play the toon army at either of the 2 real grounds. I’m not a fan of the black cats in normal life but on the PS5 with fifa23 I have thoroughly enjoyed taking them back up to the prem and now look forward to see how it goes. I would love to take them into Europe.
Haway the lads
Luke O'nien is the GOAT, he's low rated and getting old (for fifa) but god damn he is useful. Even when he's around 80+ players, he still getting that ball back, pressing, coming in attack, offering pass option. Idk why but he's probably the best lowrated player I've ever played with. I may be biased but he somehow do it all. Sunderland's Kante
Haway the lads, I love that team
Stoke city
Coldest stadium in England. Harry Souttar from Australia.
Spent 10 years in the Prem now we’re on a manager merry go round in desperate need to for a solid long term boss. Liam Delap on loan. :)
Did a Stoke rebuild with Toney and Maxi Gomez in attack, Joe Gelhardt as CAM. Absolutely powerful!
Tony Pulis was the best manager
Sunderland. Great storyline, from the Netflix show showing that we have had, highlighting our downfall, we have clawed up by the skin of our teeth. We have a young team! We have a real stadium, real chants, it is great, and could be fun with your biggest rival. The team we love to hate. Newcastle United.
Just to add, we have 6 titles, and our 73 FA cup against dirty Leeds, in the 2nd division.
Exactly
Love Sunderland in game. Great group of young players to use. Real stadium etc.
@@fresh3926 if you have transfer policies into the way that you buy your players, similar to the real world Sunderland, then it can turn out absolutely amazing.
@@jaredpalmer7953 what are those policy?
I made a Swansea career, what I liked more was developing Wales youth players and manage Wales national team. Got to the semifinals in 2026 world cup
Yesterday I start a career mode with Preston North End, try to recrate a new Leicester and is really fun.
I played Chesterfield Career Mode in FIFA 14 and got promoted to League 1. We're also the first team to win all domestic cups. Since I'm a prankster gangster, I made Chesterfield a top notch team by signing Ronaldo, Busquet, Son, Schrock and Zlatan. Ofc when it comes to young talented players, I'd keep myself scouting only within England.
I had a watford cereer at FIFA 22 it is probably the most fun i had in a career mode ever and i am gonna do one this year too
Millwall are a great option, storyline: never been in the prem before, whilst lurking in the championship for years.
Who do u support
Do u support millwall
Just started a Birmingham manager career. Hard work but fun. And just like the championship in real life it’s unpredictable. I beat Sheffield United easily but lost and got outplayed by reading
I had a Swansea City save. I was about 5 seasons in. I won 2 Premier League Titles along with a UEFA Conference League Title and a UEFA Europa League. Could quite get to the Champions League and my save deleted. But it was the most fun I've ever had in a FIFA game!
lmao had a "become a legend" with a player of my name my nationality and position irl too it was so fun I played for like 5 seasons then accedentally deleted it
i have a save with west brom and my mission is to get them back into the prem. It's really cool and you should try out too with teams like norwich or burnley and try to get them back into the premier league!
Doing a Sunderland career mode, aim is to win a domestic cup AND finish above Newcastle in the same season, currently heading into the 4th season now. First season I finished 6th and managed to beat Norwich in the play off final on penalties, finished 14th in my first season in the premier and 11th in the second season in the prem. hoping to get my cup run going this season having a good youth academy and signed players like gelhardt, diallo and the Ox, brought Marcos alonso, Pickford and looking to get hendo all back to their old team. I’ve focussed on not spending over 20~30 million each season to keep it realistic but may push it to 30~40 to give myself a bit more of an option when signing players. Their young CB Ballard is my highest rated player at 84, 1 above Pickford and diallo. It’s been the most fun I’ve had in a career mode save, forcing myself to stay away from regen players and investing so heavily in the youth academy which I haven’t really done before. Being a Sunderland fan, I’m having a lot of dun seeing Sunderland back in the prem 😂
I have a Huddersfield save and am 5 seasons in. Finished 7th in the prem last season and won carabao cup
Guys, Middlesbrough is special because of obviously Carrick but if you watch boro youll fall in love with the players early on.
i did a burnley career and got promoted and middlesbrough went up to then i brought there best players lmao 🤣
@@someoneround3806 lol 😂😂
Don't want to sell anyone when I do a career mode with them
@@CuteBenji yeah but when they get to good and your tryna do it realistic, sometimes if an offer comes in from a bigger club u might have to
@@CuteBenji yeah me too i feel bad for them.

sheffeld united is my rtg and i won prem chapions leage
I think the championship is way more fun than the prem in-game and in real life because you have 6 new teams coming in every season and the top and bottom of the table is different every year too, whereas the prem has the same teams always at the top, I mean sure some premier league games are fun, but I think fighting for promotion rather than a title is more motivating and way more of a challenge especially if you're a team who has just been promoted and doesn't have a big budget like the other teams
The championship is more fun and harder than the prem by a mile
If you're considering this, Blackpool FC is the way to go. We're a team that was in the premier league in 2010, and after terrible ownership, we started the 2016-17 season in league 2. Over the past few years, we've climbed back up to the soaring heights of the championship. As I type this we're 23rd in the league, hoping to climb out after a pretty good January transfer window. Become a seasider today 🍊
I moved Heart’s into the Championship and I’m currently trying to conquer England with the Edinburgh club.
Sheffield United Career mode is class!
I went to the third division English league with Shrewsbury Town and I’m currently gonna bring them to the prem league. Buying and developing my youngers along the way. It’s fun 😅
Youngsters”
Uppa Salop
I've rebuilt middlesbrough twice once with a takeover and them I realised I didn't need it and it was way more fun without it
I started with nott county from league 2
Won leaque 2 league 1 and efl now in the priemer league
Undefeated in premer league until december
Can’t wait to see your content for FC24. You and fcg are the best fifa RUclipsrs and I refuse to buy 24 because screw ea but I will watch you’re football content always.
Always wanted to try a career mode with Hull City.
If you’re on 22 DONT DO IT! It’s not fun but if you’re in 23 I recommend it. I’m a Hull fan and I think it could be good for you to try
Just needs more stadiums and real faces and it’d be great
Wolves and West Brom aren’t in Birmingham, only Aston Villa and bcfc are. They’re all in the West Midlands though
If been a QPR fan in America since 2009. If seen them in the prem and they are now in the champions. Champions football is absolutely insane every team is on a level playing field. Heavily underrated.
oh no you picked QPR you are doomed
I love to do a pompy save I'm currently in Scotland created my own club to compete with old firm after defo doing pompy save then just before ea sports fc might do Argentina and just get south American players that's my fav league to play on pes 21 all teams play amazing football
Im a Middlesbrough fan and I'm just doing a boro career mode
I love to play with QPR becuse good players and its litle hard to secure 6+ place then something like Norwich
West Brom have money and are decent with a good history
Wolverhampton is not in birmingham both are in the West Midlands but are two separate cities.
Brereton Diaz is great for championship glory
I am doing a career mode with create a club UE Olot , a club based in catalonia who only sign local Spanish talent similar to bilbao .
This! Also have an Athletic save. Strictly adhering to Basque. An absuloute ton of fun. Beat Madrid 1 to 0 at the Bernebeu and I feel like it's a video game memory I'll carry with me for the rest of my life.
@@PumpkinBread2 very nice i also played as Malaga FC as Andres iniesta and finished 2nd in the league I beat Real Betis on the Spanish Cup and got promoted in second place behind Almeria . I play possession football and use the academy, signing Japanese and Spanish younger players, Joan Garcia is my new goalkeeper , I also sign Enzo Loidice and Marvin from real madrid.
if this had a tiny bit more licensing it would be perfect
I support ipswich a newly promoted side. Recently played championship. We are the most special because we had 100 goals and 100 points last season in season 1 and I feel like we can push for mid table this season #COMEONYOUBLUES ❤❤
I prefeer League 2 to be honest, i love going from all way down to the top
I’m biased cos I’m a blade but Sheffield United career is unreal got 3 of the best players in ndiaye, Anel and Berge plus others, really stadium and pending takeover could be a an option Aswell if you go up sign maguire, Walker back to where they grew up
Can’t wait to meet in another Yorkshire Derby mate! I’m a Hull fan 🐯
wolves and west brom aren’t in birmingham pal, they’re in wolverhampton and west brom it’s kind of in their name 👍
Watford Fc needs a manager who can keep his job and the focus of the save is to get them a trophy with worth E.G the Championship
Hull city as we have been relegated and rebuilt with youth for example klp and greaves. New owners aswell
Can you go from EFL to prem in fifa 22 ? I dont know how to change my league :/
Watford fan from Sardinia
Personally I don’t like the championship too much because most of the teams use 5 at the backs and it gets boring
I have done many career modes in the championship but it’s mainly been park the bus while playing
Simulating seasons would be fine though
Playing vs. 5 at the back is fun if you change attacking formation, mainly 2 strikers with 442 or 4312
That makes it fun in my opinion because it gives you more of a challenge if your using a smaller club
I’m not even from Europe and I like playing with shrewsbury and Mansfield
I always find myself to rooting for Watford, so I think I’ll give them a shot.
I prefer pick championship team and lead them to premier league, more enjoyable to play
Since when is wolverhampton in birmingham
Mentioning the great "HISTORY" of the clubs in The Championship without mentioning Sunderland is comedy level. Six times league champions and two times FA Cup winners.
Shout out to Todd Cantwell on the cover =)
Sheffield united my save beat Bristol City in the FA Cup.
Fernando Gago managing Huddersfield. Rebuild with Hispanic players
Sheffield United have great talent such as ndiaye and anel admedhodzic
Bogle is solid too in game.
Leeds for me we just got relagated
My career mode teams are Blackpool ando Watford

I support sunderland and I think they are really good in fifa because are squad is supper Yong and have an average squad age of 22.5 🎉
Best way in fifa to dominate the championship is play possession based football
Ye EFL championship CM have to be way more exciting than the prem. I’ve started one with MK dons and it’s fun building up players and their attributes
West Brom!
I like Norwich city With pukki,Cantwell, Rashia
they have one of the best championship squads on fifa but once you get to the prem it gets boring i think
