Excellent analysis on Prue sort of going beyond being a mother figure, but actually taking on more of a father role. Also your theory of why Piper's powers progressed the least, because there was a part of her that did not want them to, was fascinating. It's also interesting that Holly Marie Comb's appearance changed the least over the course of the show. It may be for a similar reason, which was craving stability in what ever way she could get it even if it was something as small as her hair choices.

As a kid, I hated Prue so much because I thought she was too serious and arrogant. But as I got older, I understood her more and more and now she is actually my favorite Charmed character. She is confident, smart, doesn't apologize for being who she is. She didn't have an easy life, in fact she didn't really have a childhood. People often seem to forget that she had to grow up overnight after her mother died and had to act as a "parent" to Phoebe and Piper. This changes people so much. Of course she isn't as carefree as Phoebe is.
But it is true that the show sometimes portrayed Prue as the strongest sister although it was supposed to be equal. Didn't like that aspect.

    • @KaiDecadence
      @KaiDecadence 2 года назад +32

Even though Prue was my most favorite sister, I have to agree that it wasn't very cool that they made it out like she was the strongest sister because she was the one with actively offensive power. This is why it was great that they gave Piper the ability to make things combust (or "blow things up" llol) to help counteract that and it would've been awesome if Prue was around for season 4 so we could see the sisters being more equally balanced in their abilities when it came to combat. With Phoebe, they at least had her take up martial arts to learn how to defend herself and that was a good choice for her.

This show is one I watched since I was probably 8 or 9 years old, and when I watched it back then I had no bond to Prue at all. I was the coddled baby of the family so I identified strongly with Phoebe. Piper I loved the most when she had to deal with being a mediator. But rewatching the show as a grown woman, I absolutely fell head over heels for Prue. She’s by far the most complex character and I actually find the “mary sue” aspect of her to be amazing when she’s the one who dies. Her strength and the idea that she’s the most powerful makes sense BECAUSE the sisters adore her (she raised them along with their gran, so of course they’d have almost a maternal adoration of her), and it makes the loss so much greater because they have to reconcile with their own image of her. And maybe that one of the reasons she was the strongest was because Piper and Phoebe relied so heavily on her, that they never pushed themselves the way Prue (sometimes unknowingly) did with her patterns of behavior.

    • @lise9874
      @lise9874 2 года назад +8

Okay I need to add one more comment because I forgot this; I actually disagree with you about the Cole/Phoebe thing. For me, growing up, it was amazing to see a serious relationship NOT work out, and for the girl to realize it’s not going to work.
Furthermore I don’t agree that he truly loved her in the end. I think he did at one point but it became VERY clear that if he truly loved her he wouldn’t have put her through everything he did. He wouldn’t have allowed his demon half near her and when it happened he should’ve immediately removed himself completely and not given in like he did.
I think in the end what Cole loved about Phoebe was her love. He was in love with being loved. And you can argue to the moon and back whether that was the human part or the demon part, but they are they’re “sharing” the same body and at times the same mind, and in allegoric terms it’s like saying “I love him when he’s sober” bc it doesn’t change that he hurts her and puts her through so much that’s borderline and at times downright abusive. It doesn’t matter if it’s the demon who did it because human Cole allowed it to keep happening when he was himself.
So this show more than any other taught me how hard it can be to love someone so much and realize they’re not good for you; even if you love their good sides.

I agree that the first 4 seasons are the golden age of Charmed. The last 4 seasons have gems within them, but overall as a collective, it's definitely not as strong.
Edit: Prue is my favorite character and I love her, but Paige is my second favorite. Both of those ladies brought something very special to each era of Charmed that I feel can not be replicated. Piper and Pheobe are a wonderful foundation, but both Prue and Paige made the show imo.
I loved Piper and Leo, but the writers did them dirty. They could've been done and happy before Leo becomes an elder once they made that decision, their relationship went completely downhill and that's what made Piper so annoying about it because he kept turning into something else all the time (a whitelighter, an elder, an avatar, magic school teacher, a human) and she kept complaining about it. He needed to just stay a whitelighter and be done. She did trip a lot about him being a whitelighter because she hated he needed to go help his charges. Like sweetie, he has a JOB. But that was the writers decision.

This was the show my mom and I watched together and every time I go back and watch it now it brings back a lot of happy memories!
On one of the points made in the video, I think I would have been okay with Prue being the most powerful sister if they'd grown up with their powers and it was something where she'd had her powers the longest so she'd had the most time relative to her sisters to strengthen them. Maybe that is true to an extent -- I know they did have powers as young girls but then Grams bound them after their mom died -- but it's still a fact that they went most of their lives without their powers.
Also, I think the Chris storyline is one of my favorites as far as storylines that stretched over an entire season. He was a really complex character and as you got to know him more, understand who he really was and why he came back, I came to really like him. I liked how protective he was over Piper while also having the thing about him not wanting to get too close to her because he remembered how she was dead in his future. I liked how his dislike of Leo from day one was gradually explained and that he did get the chance to take out some of his frustrations from his childhood on Leo and work on the relationship. A lot of the early season things that annoyed me about Chris were explained when his motivations for coming back from the future were revealed, and even when I found myself becoming a bit annoyed/feeling like it was being dragged out at the very end I found myself forgiving it because of the way they ended it. Chris' death hit me really hard even though I knew he'd changed the future and that, with the course set now, he'd still be alive because there was now no reason for him to come back. I think it hit me that hard because I'd watched him work through his trauma and come to a place where he did have a good relationship with his father, got to actually know his mother and her love, and was probably the most at peace with himself and his life that he'd ever been.

Chris' love for his big brother really is the driving force behind all of his actions in season 6. Phoebe was my favorite for a long time but I think Prue is my favorite as a adult. I really like Paige though. She had such wonderful and realistic growth throughout the series.
The relationships that were best were the sisterly ones, the platonic ones, and the family ones. I wasn’t a big fan of the romance in the show. Probably because of how it took over like you said.

Also, I loved how the sisters had specialties based on their own natural (non-magical) skills and personalities:
Prue (as an organized person and initially an antiquities collector) was the master of the Book of Shadows and research. I think she would be the one to recall information from the Book and find stuff they needed.
Piper as the chef and natural cook was the master of potions.
Phoebe, the writer, was the best with creating new spells on the fly. It also helped give her a leg up because she initially didn’t have active powers and had to rely on spells more than her sisters.
Paige seemed to be the one scrying the most, which helped once she got her orbing down and would go help innocents and her charges. Otherwise she too began taking an interest in the Book. Plus she was the inherent whitelighter of the sisters and could eventually heal and orb everyone around. Her being half whitelighter worked with her background in social work and wanting to help people.

She died so early. Still upset that she died🥺😢. Piper took over for Prue really well, but one thing she didn't have that Prue had was great senses. There were alot of things she should've seen or could've prevented like being aware of Cole becoming evil again and or Phoebe turning evil. She should've been alert to these things,, especially when she's been at it longer than Paige who sensed it immediately.

I'm very very surprised to see a Charmed review, Serena! Glad you did one cuz it did bring a new perspective to the show that I hadn't seen before.
    - Furthermore, Prue was my favorite character hands down. I think it's because as an eldest sibling myself, I relate to her a lot. The whole aspect of helping lead the family, taking care of things when your parents aren't around, being a good example in general, doing good in school/ work, etc. Is very relatable.
I loved how she was this sort of no nonsense, idealistic, bossy, older sibling who slowly loosened up as the show went on. I loved how you talked about her hair btw lol 😆. I definitely noticed that as well & its relation to her character development.
In terms of powers she had a lot of potential and one of the strongest and most versatile powers of the witches in the show. If you think about it her telekinesis could have evolved into being able to make objects of people explode via telekinesis to imitate Piper (the episode where the sisters went to the future to save Phoebe from being executed she did). She could have use telekinesis to levitate like Phoebe, which luckily we got to see several times. Heck she even became an Empath before Phebe did...
--2nd point: I actually liked Billie in the show (when she was 1st introduced). I feel like no one is saying this but Billie got nerfed...like hard.
If you think about it she started off as a bad bish: the all black outfit, being able to fight and hold her own, incorporating telekinesis in her very acrobatic hand to hand combat (like Prue started to do), and had the potential to be a way more powerful witch, especially with the whole Projection power she had, which it literally Reality Warping.
After she got with the charmed ones, no more cool acrobatics, no more black suit, she was barely using her powers, and she started to make very dumb (amateur) choices, which contrasted heavily with her intelligence, tracking abilities, and general prowess when she first was introduced.
I'd say they dumbed her down to make the charmed ones appear more level headed, experienced, and "senior" to her. This in turn made me like her less. If she had kept up the whole girl boss thang going she would have been my most fav character in the show (even slightly more than Prue🤷🏽‍♀️). I know people hated her but I said what I said.
    - Side note about Piper's powers, her power isn't time manipulation; it's molecular immobilization. She stops people, objects, and certain forms of matter via "stopping" them on a molecular level. This later evolved to her being able to blow things up via speeding up the objects molecules, thus making them explode.
Big different from freezing time. Piper was often referred to as the charmed one who freezes time for ease of explanation and because Melinda Warren did not have the language to accurately describe her powers (if I remember correctly).

Charmed was one of my favourite shows growing up, and it's still very dear to me. I rewatched all of it in dvd (I remember saving to buy those way back then) at the beginning of the pandemic because it's still a comfort show for me. That said, the 8th season feels even more tacked on than what I remembered, personally I think the 7th season's ending was good enough as a show finale by itself.
The main issue I have with it, beside not being very inclusive, is that many storylines drags way too long (Cole and Phoebe, Paige's temp jobs, Piper and Leo's marriage issues, everything regarding the magic school).
Tbh I don't have a favourite sister, but the character I cannot stand to this day is Wyatt. He's however is called a male Mary Sue even before he's born, as an adult when he's evil is cartoonish and when he's good is the blandest goody good guy. The sisters are characters that are at least interesting and fun to watch, even if one may or may not like one of them, and are decently developed, while Wyatt is the goddamn Wesley Crusher of Charmed

Oh man, this show is probably one of my all time favorites. This was an awesome video and brought up so many of my charmed feelings and thoughts. I adore this show so much, ever since i was a little kid. Season 6 in particular just gets me, Chris was such a fun, well acted character and I loved his plotline with coming back to save Wyatt so much. It fit so well with the shows themes of family, and even if it might not have originally been the plan (I've heard conflicting stories about it) there are so many little similarities between him and the rest of the family that seem so obvious with hindsight, such as his appearance, his sass, his powers, the way he knew them all so well, his single minded focus, ect. Really excellent character development there.
I just wanted to comment on the whole Cole situation, cause I realized something while you were talking about it that helped me understand why I was always so conflicted with it. He actually did get that redemption arc you wanted him to because he started out as a demon but redeemed himself near then end of season 3 and into season 4, but then out of nowhere they just kind of scrapped it. By the time they had him wanting to be good again he'd already done way to much evil to Pheobe and her family for a second redemption to work, and his obsession led to him just doing more harm to her and pushing her further away and none of it needed to happen. It was like they redeemed him and then regretted it and backpedaled, but then didn't want to loose Julian so we got this weird plotline where the harder he tried to get her back the more he became the crazy, stalker, abusive ex and there was nowhere to go from there. It was very weird because they could have just avoided that by continuing with his original redemption arc. By the end it was so annoying I had grown to hate the character and was glad he died, which is a shame, but i think it was better for Pheobe's character by that point. She really sprouted after that.
Unfortunately that meant they'd put all this effort into Pheobe's romance with Cole and they didn't know what to do with her love life after that. It's like they really couldn't decide until right at then end when they flat out needed one and they through Coop in. Wich is a shame because I do actually think Coop and Pheobe work well together but they didn't have time to be fleshed out and developed enough. If they'd just committed to a romance for Pheobe earlier and developed it, even just at the beginning of the season like Paige and Henry, it would have worked much better. I think Coop and Pheobe could have been really cute if we'd just gotten to see more of them actually together and falling in love.
Woah, this got long lol. Sorry about that, I've loved this show since I was a little kid and none of my friends watch it so I've got no one to talk to about it lmao

I believe they would have reconciled if not that. But the show needed to write him off somehow.
And I hated what they did with him, especially because he fought tooth and nail not to succumb to the Source, but it was Phoebe herself who pushed him over the edge. ANd after her sisters saved her, it suddenly was all his fault.

i’m definitely in favor of a part 2 because i could also talk about this show forever 😂😂

Hey Serena, love your essays! I was wondering, have you ever considered watching/have watched Witches of West End? It was cancelled after 2 seasons, I think, but I'm sure it deserved more, since many issues remained unsolved. Its main pro was that it was really a fantasy show for older people/new adults: every character was 25 or above and there was no teenage misrepresentation, which made it nearly one show of a kind in that genre!

With Cole, to me it made sense why things ended like that. Initially he was half demon and so his humanity is drawn to phoebe however, after his demon half was stripped and he then became possessed by the source the only outcome was either him submitting to evil or let the sisters get rid of the source. He chose not to and eventually became the source. From the beginning charmed established that should mortals get powers they will eventually become insane just like the doctor. When Cole took on multiple demonic powers he eventually became insane especially after phoebe resisting him due to not wanting to be evil. That became her greatest fear.

Piper was always my fav. I grew up in an unstable home and I could relate to her desire for everything to just be calm. On top of that she showed some body image issues yet was beautiful. She was also a bit bigger than the other girls and as someone on the bigger size who felt ugly it was good to see her.
Prue was too strong for me to relate to. She was too confident, to put together. And Phoebe was to fabulous, to outgoing, and to beautiful. I could relate to Paige but Piper was already my favourite and her growth was inspiring. I got a bit snarkier thanks to her and learnt I had value thanks to her. It probably sounds stupid but my mum was my main... bully, to watching Piper become a mum helped me see what motherly love was meant to be. Mums in other shows were too perfect at times whereas she failed, she got too protective sometimes, she struggled to balance her mum life, personal life, romantic life, and professional life, but she loved her kids and always tried. I get why others might not like her but she was what I needed at the time. And getting to meet Holly Combs at Supanova was amazing.

Piper was my favorite from start until the end. I love how she can be so strong, but still so affectionate and caring and also funny all at the same time. I loved Prue and Phoebe as well, especially Prue and the bond she shared with Piper, that was one of my favorite things on the show. On the other hand… I really disliked Paige, I hated the character so much, and her relationship with the sisters seemed so forced and unnatural, it changed my experience with the show forever. Until now when I rewatch it, I can only rewatch the first three seasons without feeling sorry that the sisterhood that I loved so much ended so early on.

I really loved Charmed. I got into it about I want to say about 10 years ago. To me the first 3 seasons were great. 4 was pretty good. But then everything started slowly going down hill. When looking at the first and last seasons, it feels like 2 different shows. I really enjoyed Piper and Leo at the beginning, but then they started getting on my nerves. I really loved the way the show focused on the sisters's relationships with each other and even when Paige came in, there were complicated feelings which I imagine is realistic. Not only did they lose their older sister, but to then find out that they have a younger sister they never knew about must be complicated. I enjoyed when they went back into the past because it allowed them to get closure that they never had, but when Wyatt and Chris came from the future, that's where I wasn't fond of the time travel aspect. I think it's just the idea that if you know your future, you can change it either for the better or for the worst. Getting rid of Darryl was a bad decision. I really loved his dynamic with the sisters and he provided a sense of normalness in a magical show. Prue was my favourite because I am the oldest sibling so I can relate on some level to her need to take care of her younger sisters especially when their mom died and then their grandma died and she just had to be the mom, dad, grandma. I love Piper as well. She was the glue that held her sisters together especially Prue and Phoebe. Phoebe is another character that I can relate to because everyone expects her to have her life figured out and she is still trying to find her place in the world and figure out what she wants to do. Paige was interesting because she always sort of felt like the outsider. She was sort of invading the family that had just lost their big sister who had done everything for them. She was kind of my least favourite character out of the 4, but she still had good moments that made me genuinely love her. All 4 sisters were great. Overall, this show is a lot of fun but went on for too long and lost some of it's magic along the way. ***Also I'm not fond of the reboot Charmed. I think I got almost halfway through Season 1 and it was basically just OG Charmed. Yes there is diversity with the actresses being women of colour and LGBTQ+ representation and that's great, but it just felt too similar to OG Charmed and I have a soft spot in my heart for the OG. I wish they would have taken different approaches to things to make it similar, yet different.***

I think reason why Piper was a bit whingeing or complaining, it because she never really want this power and responsibility.
Which I could understand, given something that. You never wanted or ask for to begin with. She being the middle child, always hold the peace.
Between of the oldest and youngest sisters, because it difficult to be the middle child. Because you are in middle. Of problems and obstacles.
Piper can be annoying and a bit whiny at time, but I can’t blame her why she does or what her is. After Prue die, she have to take the role of the older sister.
Something that she thought she have to take, because no longer in the middle child any more. Once Prue is gone, which is pretty much a big weight on her shoulder.
A big role that she have to take, as she has trouble making decisions. Which I could relate to her, being the middle child.

First of all, I love your analysis of the sisters. I never really knew why I liked this show so much but hearing how much care and thought went into creating the characters and the world just made me love it more. My mother introduced me to this show as soon as I was old enough to watch it and it became this sort of comfort show that I watched with my older sister and my mother together.
My favorite sister used to be Phoebe in the first three seasons since I was for the first ten years of my life the youngest child and was also very lost and I also was a sucker for the ColexPhoebe drama. When I became the middle child and my younger sister came into the picture I found myself relating more to Piper, since she was too a middle child and always had to play mediator and was a people pleaser etc. And after the death of Prue, she was thrust into the role of the oldest sister and suddenly she had to take care of her sisters and the household and due to some private stuff (that would be a little TMI), I felt too like I was pushed into the role of the oldest sister and I could relate to her on so many levels. The whining you mentioned was actually something that I could relate to (even though I did too find it annoying sometimes because who wouldn't want to be a witch). But I related to it in a sense of "I too wish that we could just be a stable and normal family" and while I was less interested in her ongoing drama with Leo and the whole child storylines I did relate to her the most.
Looking back now I think I would probably choose Phoebe as my favorite character for the same reasons you mentioned. Regarding the Cole-redemption-thing, I understand that he was incredibly evil and that many people are over the "I can change him" trope but I loved their chemistry and the beginning of their relationship. They've been through so much and Cupid felt like an afterthought. Like oh right we have to get Phoebe a man and they just went with this guy instead of actually taking a little more time to develop the relationship between these two. I didn't hate it, but I do think that it would've needed a little more time to unfold its full potential. Also, the little naive part of me was hoping for a ColexPhoebe endgame until the very last episode xD

This is great!! I think I was just complaining on Twitter like 3 months ago that there's no retrospectives on Charmed that aren't really negative hater stuff. My favorite sisters are Piper and Paige.
I always got the feeling that Prue's astral projection stuff was the result of behind the scenes bickering by the actresses. Like "my character needs a new power because it's all your characters wedding" or something. Something felt off about it.
Cole/Phoebe was done so dirty!!!! I really agree with you on wishing they'd let Phoebe be Queen of Evil a little longer. Like... at least a season!!!!
I really felt like the new sister reveal was really set up. Like they spend like two seasons on the forbidden white lighter witch romance and the mom's depressed white lighter boyfriend that it felt really natural.
Seasons 1-4: Good, Season 5-on: Bad. The kid from the future thing really seems like they watched that season of Dragon Ball Z lmao. I wish they actually made that arc good.

I want to thank you for your thoughts and opinions about the girls. ❤️❤️ I don't have enough words to express how much I appreciate you talking with so much passion about the show. I felt your excitement for it and love and appreciation. And the case you made about it being a fairytale, I never looked at it that way and because I love fairytales and grew up imagining my fairytale, how I want my life to be, I see now why I was so compelled and so mesmerized by the show in that way. I didn't have anyone to express my thoughts growing up about the love I have for the show and now I feel better having the platform with you and everyone else commenting and expressing themselves about it. So yeah thank you again.

@@SerenaSkybourne Yeah, I understand. The more I think about it being a fairytale, the more it makes sense. When I was in university I studied the origin, structure and mechanics of what fairytales. It lines up so good. The way it starts the story for hte girls shows the transition from lives in the society, the everyday normal living ( the villige, the tribe the place where its in the norm of normality of reality) and going to the magical unknown outside world filled up with wonder and magic and danger. That's where the protagonist of faitlryrales begin their journey and growing up, and maturing and learning about their capabilities, powers. There is a goal - the fight between good and evil and there is the ending of the fairytale where you have the compete circles where they find themselves learn what they supposed to learn, slay the antagonist of their stories and live happily ever after (that's why I was so emotional about the ending because it was a classic fairytale ending) and they go back to the "every day normal lives" but changed ( not that they stop being witches but definettly live the ending they wanted) ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Charmed is one on my favorite show. When I was a pre teen we had, each Saturday evening in France, a TV-program with 2 episodes of Charmed, then something nobody really cared then 2 episodes of Buffy. It was the best time.
even now if I have the chance to spot a Charmed (or buffy) episode on TV, I watch it. I remember a lot of their magic spells.
I started writing an essai about how much i love the time traveling episodes, and how I started to loose interest with the show when Piper's son came around, and how the last season was bad. But you already said it.
I just want to say that, even the relationships between the actress wasn't the best in real life they manage to create a strong and belevable relationship on screen.
At first my favorite sister was Phoebe, but as I grew older Prue grew on me. But i'm not gonna lie, I always find that Piper has the best power.
Btw I saw recently on RUclips some behind the scene on some episode of Charmed without the Fx and stuff. It's really funny and actually clever to see how they managed to make the supernaturel stuff looks real

With regards to Pru never appearing as a spirit or in pictures after she died, it was because Shannon didn't give them permission to use her likeness on the show after she left
As for Cole. I haven't actively watched Charmed so maybe everything ive seen is out of context, but it seemed like he was trying desperately to be good but the sisters refused to believe he could be. They kept insisting he was evil despite everything he was doing and he just fell into despair and became evil again...then Phoebe refused to kill him when he wanted to die...because it 'was on his terms, not theirs'...
From what I've seen Phoebe and Piper became insufferable from S5 onwards (around the time Alyssa and Holly became producers interestingly), and spent more time bitching about wanting a normal life than saving innocents, and say what you want about Billie, but at least she wanted to help people, and the Charmed ones would actively discourage her from helping people..
It's a show I want to start watching but from what I've seen others say about the show, it looks like it will get very annoying at a certain point

    • @melodyndayegamiye501

I personally didn't find it annoying I think it made them more realistic heros because unlike billie they werent new to the witch role, they've also lost so much through out the years due to what they do on a daily basis, i found it understandable. It was their destiny never really a choice, i think its worth the watch if you keep that pov although it def had its flaws especially after season 5. Think buffy the vampire slayer, being a chosen one but wanting a normal life... but season 1-3 are by far the best because Prue is one of my favourite characters. As far as Cole he made alot of bad choices and everytime the sisters thought he was evil they sadly happened to be right because he kept lying to them. at first i think he genuinely wanted to be good though but after the halo that was kinda lost.

The thing that bugged me about Cole, or the situation with him, was that it wasn't really his fault.
He was a demon at first, true, but he tried his best, he changed, and once the Source was killed, that spirit, or whatever it was went into Cole. He was not a fault there. And he had a chance to become Source free. He fought tooth and nail to free himself, but it was Phoebe who pushed him over the line. Phoebe who basically took his hand and said that she wanted him to be the Source (while she was seduced by evil herself).
ANd then, when her sisters saved her, she acted as if it was all his fault!
What is worse, that in the following season when he came back she kept antagonizing him, pushing him away. Nothing was good for her.
But I believe that they would have ended up together if not for the actor going onto his own show (nip and tuck, or something like that).

I loved Prue and I will be forever indebted to you for explaining why she was my favorite. She was me! I was the one left to be the "father figure" to my younger and even older siblings.
When my parents unceremoniously divorced and my father left to form another family with a woman he cheated on my mother with. I had to become my mother's, brother's and sister's patriarch. I even became the partial breadwinner of my household growing up!
So, I tried to become the the most educated and the most "perfect" of my brothers and sisters even though it was impossible! My eldest sister was wild and a handful like Phoebe. Her and I battled much the same ways! My second eldest sister was exactly like Piper constantly put in the middle and playing peacemaker while having the wit of ten comedians! My younger brother was very much the Paige ironically being the wildcard who I was never able to fully understand due to our 6 yr age difference. I relate to her so much even though I am a 33 YO black man! Lol
We both built up walls to hide how truly insecure we were. Like Prue I accumulated accolades and knowledge to make up for my inability to connect with anyone romantically. I had a hard time finding love even though I was attractive because I was queer. This also drew me to the show, the idea I didn't quite fit in because of who I was genetically and that being something I needed to hide even though it was completely natural. It's still something I struggle with.
I remember watching the episode "Reality Bites" and hearing her talk about how her possible future self would be remembered "she worked hard." My heart sinks every time I watch that scene. It was a question I had asked myself many times. That was certainly how my family and friends saw me up until recently. A man who had nothing going for him but his accomplishments.
I am happy to say I have made it so much closer to my third season Prue phase of my life! Hopefully that doesn't mean I'm dying soon lol
Yeah... that was an essay. I just needed to vent that because I never could articulate why I loved Prue so much. I also loved early (seasons 1-3) Phoebe too!

Prue is my favorite character watching it in my adult years. Being the oldest I understand her. Her character development in 3 seasons were probably the best in any series in my opinion.
