- I overview three different types of adapters for Canon to MFT 4/3:
Metabones: amzn.to/2H4m0q9
Ftasy Canon to MFT : amzn.to/2WxdlCc
Vello Adapter : amzn.to/2DU1V3Q
4/3 is an open lens system so various manufacturers adopted it: Panasonic, Olympus, Blackmagic Хобби
thank you i had no idea about the different adapters need one for my 18-35

Yes
Can anyone confirm that ''Metabones Canon EF to Micro Four Thirds T CINE Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x'' will work for Bmpcc 4k to the 18-35mm lens? Thanks!
Thank you. One aspect which you did not cover is - how good is the optical alignment of the lens on the body, using different adapters? Are the surfaces parallel, is the optical centre of the lens in line with that of the sensor, how good is the capture of the excess light from the larger image, ..? After all, those optical issues are how we judge a photograph.
It's not as good as native lenses ever, it's a compromise when you want to use older lens, or not spend money on new lens. Often enough, the results are very acceptable. If you're going after a specific look these can certainly achieve that. But if you're going after absolute quality, go native.
Can i use canon efs 18-55mm lens to the 44$ adapter for Panasonic lumix g7?
NO. Canon EF lenses only, per Metabones. EF-S lenses like the 18-55, designed for Canon APS-C DSLRs, will not work.
Vertix, I'm sorry. I didn't read your question carefully enough before first answering, and I can't delete or edit my answer now. You were not asking about the Metabones Speed Booster; you were asking about a different adapter. I don't know the answer to that question, but like you, I suspect the image might not fit the sensor correctly, because EF-S lenses are designed to hit an APS-C sensor, not a full-frame sensor. You'd best explore that on the website of the company making the adapter you're asking about. They may make a different manual adapter for Canon EF-S lenses.
Sounder Davis I just read that the Viltrox M1 is made for Canon efs lens for micro 4/3.
Hello Tom, do you have a favorite, I keep buying simple adapters but there is lots of wiggle and play in the adapters, any suggestions would be great, thank you for your video!
The Best one is the Metabones, but it's expensive. The simple ones are not that good. I'd go with some brand named ones that don't have lenses.
@@SLRTom Great, thanks Tom!
Can I do the opposite and connect micro 4/3 lens in canon body?
Unlikely because the image projected wouldn't cover the whole sensor. Unless the adapter includes some "magnifying" correction lens
You failed to mention the compatibility of ef-s lenses and the Vello adapter with aperture control looks nice in theory but is useless in as it creates strong vignetting in every stops except wide open. Did you actually check this problem before posting this video?
Would this work for G85 too?
Yes of course, they share the same mount.
It's too bad you can't adapt canon efm mount lenses to micro 4/3rds, all those lenses are pretty good bang for your buck and they would look great on m 4/3
from what I understand f/1.8 stays 1.8 in terms of light gathering but becomes 2.6 DOF equivalent
Sadly, no.
@@ilusoriob that I tried with om50mm 1.4 the light gathering was the same as with Lumix 25mm f1.4 depth of field became 2.8, so it does retain the same light on both lenses without a speed booster, try it out ta
Please brother i want a lens .i don't have money for buy it. Please 🙏
Wow get a fucking grip dude....go panhandle or just go old skool and give hand jobs if you need money 4 gear that bad
700 bucks for a lens adapter.......for this money you can get a good camera Body.
Schwellenzaehler45 there isn’t a camera body under $700 on earth that I’d want to use, with the exception of maybe Canon 1D Mark I!
@@spi-fi_media , okay .... it seems you are a poser ; -)
