Very sad . . . there is no one who can or will replace them!! Have been a consumer of Camel since their inception in the early 70's. Never get tired of listening to their earlier cuts and have enjoyed their newer output. Hope there is more to come, but alas, time goes on!! Hope the best for all in the band and those temporaries along the way!! Thanks for all of the years! BTW, the entire video of this performance is 'all' equally incredible and well worth the many many 'many' times I have listened to it!! More to come as well!!
My friend, (let me call u friend as u are Camel lover, as well as I am). I'm portuguese and the first time I got to see Camel live was 2 or 3 years ago, when they celebrated The Snow Goose 40 years release. Still I've been an avid fan since day one when they released debut album called Camel. Too long ago for me to remember the year, in spite i'm 56 years old. Love Camel. They are a true inspiration to me...
Been w/ Camel from their beginnings. First saw them in a little club in San Francisco sometime in the 70's(?). I was hooked. That's when you could actually go up on stage and talk w/ the musicians. Andy is a remarkable guitarist...tops! Years later when they came to Palo Alto, CA, through a friend (B Richardson) I was able to give a Andy, a Fulltone OD Pedal. In return, he gave a few memorabilia items...Thx! Hope you're still getting some good use from it Andy :
...uwielbiam 💗😍 Dave Stewarta ...bębny, od czasu jak zobaczyłem, usłyszałem Go w kwietniu 1997 r. na żywo z Camelem w Warszawie w Kongresowej (trasa "Harbour of Tears"), a całość jak zawsze znakomita 💗😉👍👏👌✋👋👐✌🙋🙌👂🎼🎵🎷🎺🎸🎤🎻🎹🎶🎵
I don't know of guitar players that can convey so much emotion in their playing as David Gilmour and Andy Latimer.
Camel is just so kick-ass and underrated/unknown (in the US at least). The people that know about them and enjoy their music are blessed!
