I swear it must be the name!! I have ADHD also and I’ve struggled my whole life but I was only diagnosed at 50! I use many of the same tips you mentioned like I must take notes and highlight, I listen to audiobooks and read at the same time when I’m especially struggling, and I have to listen to classical music with no words in the background. My favorite music to concentrate is Chopin. I listen on Pandora and it helps me stay focused so much. Thank you for sharing your struggles with it. It really is helpful knowing you’re not alone ❤
Oh my goodness. You are describing many of my struggles (some past and some current) to a tee. Its so challenging because people don't understand it. The good news is it can get better in time. I'm actually a director of a non profit now. Sometimes i cant believe all that i manage. What i do though is switch my tasks and duties up when i start getting bored or distracted. I make lists and use my calendar daily to help me stay on track and refer back to in case I fall off the rails! 🙏🏼😬
I’m so glad you’re doing well and have found ways to manage your time and tasks. I have to have my paper to do lists or nothing gets done! What is it about being able to mark off task when completed? That tiny bit of accomplishment pushes me through to the next task. ☺️
Yes, it’s helpful for me. I have been doing a lot of reading on the subject of adhd, and similar things. Diagnosed with it as adult since I was a kid when girls didn’t get it. Anyways, definitely thanks for sharing your experience with us all.
Thank you for this list! I think it is going to be helpful for me! And thank you for the ambient noise suggestions because I found so many pages to follow for whatever situation I need, whether it's for Bible study or journaling or writing! Or even sleeping!
