Oni/Akuma is according to lore Goukens younger brother :) but from what i've heard he's mastered the Satsui no Hado beyond mortal level therefor his deformed look. well, that's what i believe anyways.
19:33 Seth's Attack fails miserably. 19:43 Oni's Attack is brutal. 20:33 Oni fails his attempt to get a free ride to mars (he didn't have enough money to pay for the rocket journey and they had they had Akuma on guard so Oni couldn't be arsed to fight).

I'll be honest with you: I was looking forward to this for a long time, but when I saw the first challenger against Oni, I went "Oh shit". I simply adore Juri, and seeing her taken out so easily... Oh dear...
So then, what was the verdict of having different skins of Akuma and Shin Akuma back during the Capcom vs SNK days? At least Oni has more different attacks than Ryu and Akuma together, and stronger specials too. Besides, Oni maybe Akuma, but not anymore in any recognizable trait.

Fourth: Did Oni just do a reverse air dash?! O_o O_O CORRECTION: His first special STARTS like Ryu's first special, but then follows up with possibly a projectile RAGING DEMON.......o_o Fifth: Would've been FAR more kickass if that special wasn't blocked......

is capcom lazy or what ?? most of the characters have the same move set..ryu, ken, evil ryu, oni and many more...even the combos are same for many...whats the need to have new characters if you are too lazy to give them unique fighting styles...
These characters you mentioned have different normal attack of there own. (For example, Ryu's belly punch, Ken's stepkick, Akuma's two hit roundhouse) Even their special attacks can work very differently: All of Ryu's Dragon Punch serves as solid anti-air, while Ken's DP have different functions depends on the button pressed (light for safe, medium for anti-air, fierce for focus attack cancel, and ex for safe-chip and better cancel timing). Akuma, Oni, and Seth's DP is no where as good as Ryu and Ken's and can be easily missed(whiff) and get punished. True that most of these Shoto characters look similar and have identical fighting style, but gameplay wise they are just not the same, and you need specific game plans to do well on each of these characters.

Its kind of unfair these characters aren't on the 3DS version. Still, I do love the 3DS version and play it when I'm travelling.
