Powerlifters love to hate their training. One of the truest statements I've heard.

The owner of my gym (also powerlifter) recommended me this video, to learn to write my own pivot-plan. Thanks for the information.

What I like the most here is how you say you thought about putting out an example and then decided not to - actually THINKING about whether to do such thing or not is a very important thing for learning. Sure you gave a small example like 5-3-0 tempo and such things which is fine, but you didn't just put it all out there and you actually give the opportunity for your audience (those who truly listen) think and wonder about what you have to say, and that is how messages get through&encoded eventually much, much better. Good job Mike, and as always, please keep 'em coming!

Awesome video! How about putting up a range of examples of pivot blocks that you have been using/programmed for clients to lessen the negative impact on creativity? Could go for development blocks as well.
A more extensive idea would be to describe cases where you follow one or more trainees through a period of time, describe the programming and reasoning behind the ongoing changes. Would make a great book that I would buy immediately. Maybe something to make a Kickstarter for? I think many besides me would sign up to sponsor such a project.

Great video! I was wondering if you are planning to release an updated version of the RTS manual at some point? It would be so much easier if all the info about RTS style training was on one book.

Is it ok to be sore during a pivot week by doing new exercises that you dont normally do?

Yes, definitely. Just don't want to be so sore that you aren't ready for the next week.

    Hello,
You explained in the past that pivot blocks should last about one third of the time of developmental blocks. Do you sometimes programm longer pivot blocks, for example after a meet?
    Thanks.

Yes we do. Usually not more than 2 weeks though. If we need more than that, maybe a hypertrophy or off season block is in order.

@@michaeltuchscherer9322 but i thought you said in this video (2:39) that you take just as long during pivot block sessions as you do during developmental blocks.
As far as dropping fatigue during a pivot block, I dont understand how you can do that without reducing volume, number of sets, especially considering fatigue is mostly associated with volume work, which you're increasing by replacing, presumably about, 5 rep sets with 10 rep sets. 7:07

@@boxerfencer at that time stamp I was discussing that two development blocks, even if intensity is different, can feel quite similar. The time I'm referring to is the time it takes to complete a session

@@michaeltuchscherer9322 about the second issue, of dropping fatigue via dropping loads, i just saw another video where you seem to believe heavier loads are more fatiguing than lighter ones.
Im not sure this strictly true, but i imagine the change can perhaps drop off specific high load fatigue. Something to experiment with.

How long should a pivot block be?

    • @DywanTv
      @DywanTv 2 года назад +1

About 1/3 of the development blok.
