People forget how great of an album Graduation is. Besides Drunk & Hot Girls, every song is fire & it was a staple of my childhood especially living in Chicago
What was the feeling like when Graduation came out in Chicago? I'm sure Homecoming and Everything I Am hit different...
@@NFRPodcast the hype was crazy. Everybody was on Kanyes side when he was competing wit Fifty for the number one album. I also remember me & my older cousins were hanging out on their porch and they were bumpin the album from their iPod plugged into some crappy speakers lmao. All the Chicago radio stations were playing the new Kanye songs nonstop (it was almost impossible to escape the hype). Favorite moment out of all of this was when the video for Homecoming dropped. Me & my cousin were so psyched watching it since the music video was filmed 10 minutes from where I lived at the time. I remember watching it with my cousin & being mesmerized by the black & white visuals & Kanye walking by iconic landmarks like the bean & the Millennium Park Amphitheater. Kanye really showed a lot love to the city during that time. I’ll never forget those days & wish I can go back & relive those moments :)
Tupac , Nas , Jay Z all had writers on their albums but only call out kanye , smh
Am I the only person who likes Drunk and Hot Girls??
@@jacoblebnan No your not I like it too, it's really overhated imo.
I like how everyone has different opinions on their favorite Kanye projects... just an ode to how many sounds he’s able to capture
The beauty of Kanye's discography! What's your favorite?

Kanye West really doesn’t have any bad albums
Yeezuz and JIK werent my favorite.

Graduation is madly under appreciated, shit changed, hip hop and pop production forever, went back to it and it was fire all the way thru
Yes it doesn't get the love it deserves for its impact people just praise it for having great songs...
It's his most streamed album on Spotify i think.
I feel Graduation change sound and it is the precursor to my beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Graduation is Kanye best album.

I feel like The College Dropout is one of the only albums I've come across that you can listen to in any mood and it'll still hit.
That's facts Ewan what's the best song off TCD for you?
@@NFRPodcast Depends on mood but Spaceships is just amazing
It’s best when your chilling playing an old GTA game or your just like, being outside in summer
True, my favorite from college dropout has to be through the wire, straight fire
@@joshsmith8715 very good pick but to me, it’s literally either Slow Jamz or School Spirit. Every song on that album is so good but those two songs I mentioned definitely is the best by a bit to me.
College dropout-(The documentary made me appreciate it alot more)
Late registration-(the victory lap)
Graduation-(his best)
808s and heartbreak-(a industry changer)
MBDTF-(the comeback)
Yeezus-(kanye nailed industrial rap first try)
The Life of Pablo-(all of the elements of ye in one album)
ye-(the most vulnerable ye has presented himself in any album)
Jesus is king-(a decent gospel rap album)
Donda-(the life of pablo but a bit longer)
Jik is probably the best album in that genre, and it’s a great album
MBDTF is his best by a country mile
Yeezus better
Late registration I’d say is more so solidifying his position in hip hop. Graduation feels more like a victory lap to truly show his greatness
how can u forget ksg

1. College dropout
2.Graduation
3.808s
4.MBDTF
5.Late registration
The guys convinced me that every Kanye album is my favorite.
Outkast and Kanye West have the best hip-hop discographies in my opinion. Kendrick Lamar could join them if his next album is gonna be great.
Hell yeah. I'm more of a rock guy than a rap guy, but I'm not sure I can name a better discography in all of music than OutKast's.
W
I have a feeling kendricks next project is gonna be a big one, kinda like tpab. Damn was really great, but it was definitely a bit scaled back from tpab, which is not a bad thing at all, but after his 4 year hiatus, and the fact that this will be his last album in top dawg entertainment, something tells me he’s gonna go out with a bang.
@@bigmozzarella9670 Maybe like 2Pac a double album with only bangers.
@@tropical9913 I heard like a year ago that his newest album is gonna have a lot of rock influences, sorta like how tpab had a jazz influence. It’s been over a year so idk if that’s actually true but I’m curious to see where he takes the album
Wow I just had the urge to listen to 808s again and it's absolutely amazing that Kanye has discography so excellent that this isn't considered one of his best. It's the most ambitious project a hip hop artist has ever done and the songs are terrific. Tbh sometimes I forget how great Kanye is until I start deep diving into his albums again.
People sleep on 808s, fantastic album and a classic.
@@NFRPodcast my top 3 Ye albums of all time
even his old mixtapes are a huge vibe. Like his beat tapes from the 90s are insane for someone that was his age at the time. keep up the great work guys amazing video might buy your patreon soon just cause i love watching your videos
Thank you for the love austin, thanks for supporting us and I'm sure you'd love our content on Patreon🙏
The thing I love the most about ranking anything Kanye is that even the last spot is better than some artists entire discography, and everyone has that mutual understanding that even when a song is poorly received its more of a compliment to his other works rather than an insult to the song/album itself
Fr I would rather listen to Jesus is king than listen to any lil Durk 😂
JIK is unlistenable esp for non believers
@@sweetsemen1498 🧢
I don’t think JESUS IS KING actually sounds bad, it’s just that it’s a MASSIVE downgrade compared to Yandhi…
@@elpoodoo3099ive only heard a few leaks, when i first heard a verse of selah that had lyrics similar to chakras, i went crazy
Its not that released selah is bad, its still an amazing song, but the hype in the og version is crazy
My dream is for Donda to drop and then a reworked future version of Yandhi. Never too late to drop Yandhi, Ye
He might change up some yandhi songs and put them in donda

i really like this duo, they contrast each others ideas but are respectful towards each other and are both quite knowledgable. good job guys
ye has to be my favorite, there’s something about the whole structure of it.
The way it works is supposed to mimic bi polar disorder, which I have.
Ghost town and all mine hit so great, and violent crimes is such a great closing, it feels like the end of something great.
It’s like when you finish a long film at the cinema, and you step out and it’s cold and it’s night.
Beautiful
☠️
Finally someone I can agree with. This Album is so great, I don't know why everyone ranks it so low. It's like a minimalistic, perfect project
100% , the album is perfect
Hot take but I don’t think the way Kanye structured the album was that special or revolutionary or even that interesting of a portrayal of bi polar disorder, the sloppy messy yet controlled structure of the life of pablo feels more accurate and more interesting then ye.
My Top 3:
*1: MBDTF -* It’s very consistent, diverse, and a perfect combo of emotional and hard hitting songs. The production is incredible and the features keep a fresh sound on every song for me.
*2: Kids See Ghosts -* Short, sweet and to the point. Kid Cudi kinda kinda carried it tho.
*3: Graduation -* Some of the most uplifting music you’ll ever hear. Every track is an anthem for someone.
respectfully isnt one of mbdtf’s biggest flaws the consistency? many people critique it for how it fell off after the first 8 or so songs. the other 2 you listed are way more consistent
@@rhoclouds Blame Game and Lost In The World imo are still good, and while yes they are the two weakest songs on the album, they still have their spot. They're definitely some of the more emotional songs on the album.
@@jakeguerras_fan i like lost in the world a lot, but there definitely are some very high highs and some songs that are good, but on the weaker side. there's just no way a blame game or monster holds up against a runaway or devil in a new dress
@@rhoclouds I can agree with that to an extent. I acknowledge that Blame Game doesn't hold much replay value on it's own, but when used as a piece in the greater album I enjoy it. But no it doesn't hold up in that sense that you can play it on it's own.
As for monster I can see it being a weaker track due to not having much meaning, but it's very catchy, and is a fun song to bump every once in a while. Still a very strong song imo even on it's own.
@@rhocloudshell of a life is the most underrated Kanye song, blame game is also pretty underrated and lost in the world is amazing it does not fall off at all imo

808s & Heartbreak is an album I was mild on at the time it released aside from the big singles like Love Lockdown, Paranoid, and Amazing. I didn't get the concept but knew it was something different. Over the years it's grown into one of my top Kanye albums. It's so hard to place the album but to me it's above MBDTF which I like but was one of the few people who didn't really feel like it was Kanye's best work. I appreciate all the work and creativity that went into MBDTF but it would probably be number 5 to me. 808s is number 4 but it's a hard call. Ranking these albums is tough because they are all very unique and distinct. I like every Kanye album so they are all number 1.

There may not be another album I have listened too that puts me in a certain mood like 808’s does. Throughout the album, you are lonely, you are emotional, even angry. Late registration way too low
@@cjhill4130 Mine is very low aswell, I just never put it on and I never really related to it
@@cjhill4130 Idk Late Registration got a few good songs, but it wasnt very interesting except for songs like Gold Digger. It felt like a decent scrapped away version of The College Dropout ngl.

Hopefully one day Ye will bless us with a care package of unreleased music
a lot of people may not agree with my ranking lol:
1. Jesus Is King
2. Late Registration
3. ye
4. Graduation
5. The Life of Pablo
6. MBDTF
7. The College Dropout
8. 808s & Heartbreak
9. Yeezus
I agree with yeezus at worst
I know music is subjective but this list is dogshit lol
808s is my personal favorite. I can acknowledge it maybe isn’t his best album, but it got me through the death of a family member and a rough break up. I also think his creative use of auto tune has influenced this generation in a major way.
Sorry about the death of a family member and agreed with 808s being fantastic
Yes 808s is my favorite too especially because I don’t think people understand how influential the album really is especially now.
Graduation is his best project in terms of rapping and production
production-wise yes, but rapping hell nah thats MBDTF.
If Barry bonds and drunk and hot girls was replaced by good night and bittersweet poetry then without a doubt best album
@@marcinmleczko4565 i actually like drunk n hot girls, but i skip barry bonds everytime
@@somebodyig624 I would say the opposite is true
MBDTF would like to say a word
1.) Graduation
2.) TCD
3.) MBDTF
4.) Late Registration
5.) Ye (yes I know)
6.) Yeezus
7.) TLOP
8.) 808's

ye is personally one of my favorite, all songs are memorable for me. Ghost Town and Violent Crimes are 2 of my favorite Kanye songs. I get why people rank it low because it’s very short but I think it’s EXTREMELY underrated. No hate to your lists, it’s really good but if ye was longer it would be top 5 or even higher
I was ranking Kanye albums with my friend, and he was like “bro why you put ye at 12” and I was like you have no idea how much it hurts me to put it there.
Same ye is better than most people see it as
Another classic from the NFR boys, one of the best youtuber on the platform
I honestly feel like ppl have some hate on Jesus is King just coz he was praising God...Just listen to the album calmly and like understand and appreciate where's his at in life and you'll see.....this album is beautiful
Graduation has zero skips, other than Ye. Its the only album from Kanye where i can listen to every single track, I’ll list my ranking below:
1. Ye
2. Graduation
3. Late Registration
4. The Life of Pablo
5. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
6. The College Dropout

@@jeankirstein3841 Sorry, but I personally think that yeezus features some of Kanye’s worst lyrics, and I feel that there are other artists that have done the sound that Kanye did on yeezus better, which is why it is near the bottom of my ranking.

Kanye’s discography is something I can’t rank in order except for 808&heartbreaks as my number one. I rate is top just because it connects with on a personal level. He has a pool of discography where people keep digging from West (US) to far east (Japan) just so they can glimpse it’s beauty.
JIK was mediocre

What's Kanye's most underrated album for you?
@@NFRPodcast ye
@@NFRPodcast Yeezus imo, it’s my favourite personally but objectively I still think it’s top 3 Kanye. The concept and sequencing of the album is nuts, it’s not an album it’s a movie fr, layered deep from the samples, beats, and lyrics, it tells a thrilling story, and that’s without mentioning the iconic tour and interviews surrounding it. I didn’t view it that way personally until after a couple listens, and “Dissect Podcast” on Spotify/RUclips delves into it deeply, check it out. What’s yours?

yeezus below JIK isnt true not even an opionion at that point.
sorry but ye, tlop, and yeezus can NOT be bottom 4
It’s a mf opinion guys, don’t hate on bro. Kanye’s discography is really just that deep, not a single bad album and so many different sounds to appeal to different people
@@BrandonGuile I will say that Yeezus has grown on me a bit but it’s too inconsistent. Now tho I’m takin Ing it over JIK and Donda fs and depending on the day ye
@@atomoasis yeah my opinions changed a bit but ye and Yeezus are still towards the bottom of my list just more like 9/10. Yeezus is too inconsistent for me to put over most other stuff. It’s highs like Blood on the leaves, Black skinhead, bound 2 and hold my liquor are amazing and some of my favorites but songs like Send It Up or I’m In It genuinely make me cringe so I can’t put it higher than other stuff. Ye it depends on the day tbh. It goes between 6-10 for me depending on the mood I’m in but in general it’s more towards the lower end I’d say. TLOP has really come around for me tho. It’s probably 6-7 for me behind the original top 5 and probably Late Registration also. If I remade this I’m going with the same top 4, then LR, KSG, TLOP, Throne, ye, Yeezus, donda, jik
1. TLOP
2. Yeezus
3. MBDTF
4. Graduation
5. Ye
6. The college dropout

6. YEEZUS
7. 808s
8. Ye
9. JIK
I love this list! What makes LR place at #1 for you?
@@NFRPodcast it may not be as diverse and hype as an album like MBDTF, but I really admire it for that reason. It’s super consistent and probably his most easy to listen to album. The highs are there as well. It’s just super chill yk?
The best conversations are just two friends aggressively agreeing with each other
How many classics does Jay have is a great conversation. Surprised your Patreon didn’t recognize that conversations potential for a fire episode.
My Ranking (Including Collabs except CS):
11. Yeezus (Want to like it, but Hate it’s sound)
10. Jesus is King (Alright but not Amazing)
9. Ye (Great and Real but KSG is better)
8. Watch The Throne (Fun Collab from 2 Kings)
7. Late Registration (Great Singles, CD Better)
6. The Life Of Pablo (Real and Painful AF)
5. The College Dropout (Amazing First Album)
4. Kids See Ghost (BEAUTIFUL MASTERPIECE)
3. 808’s and Heartbreak (Very Innovative)
2. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (Classic)
1. Graduation (My Personal Favorite, Very Fun)
But all of them are Great except Yezzus and JIK, those ones are just good.

for me i only started listening to kanye since ye. so i dont have the nostalgia, sadly, of the eras of earlier albums.
i always have tlop at 1 but the others change all the time. speaks to how great he is. Ranked (with my fav song) :
