    It's worth thinking about vassalising Granada so that you can then feed them Ceuta, as they have a mission that puts a center of trade there.

    12:00 when you diplo annex and full state a province you already had a core on, you just have to wait for a month to pass and it'll go to 0 autonomy. Don't manually lower it while at 90, that'll just lock it in at 65.

    Nice guide Red Hawk :)
    One strategy you could have used to conquer Iberia is to ally Tunis, declare war on Tlemcen and call Tunis (with promise of land), and then declare on Granada. This way you avoid breaking your alliance with Tunis. If you're lucky, Castile will then declare war on Granada, and if you manage to vassalize Granada you can call in Tunis and other allies against Castile alone. Win the war against Castile, break their alliance with Portugal and you now have 5 years to declare on Portugal. Easy Wins Easy Wars against the Iberians :D
    Here's some other tips: Restart the game until Aragon rivals Castile but not France, you'll have a much easier time this way. Delete the forts in Tangiers and Dahra (from Tlemcen), they're not worth it. Try to cobelligerent and vassalize any of the other Berber minors in the Sahara for easy defensive wars, especially if against Tunis and Tunis is allied to the Ottomans. To avoid paying admin for low dev provinces, I usually give them to the Saharan vassal(s) that I kept, it's better than keeping them at 90% autonomy unstated. And lastly, to save a bit of admin you can give Tafilalt its core from Tlemcen, start integrating it first, and when you see that the percentage will reach 100% next month start annexing Marrakesh and Sus too.
    Oh, and ally France ASAP, you tried a bit too late. And once you're halfway through Iberia, you might consider an alliance with England/UK and maybe even Austria against now-hostile bordering France.
    That's about it, cheers!
    PS: One variation of this strategy is Portugal declaring on Granada instead of Castile. It's basically the same, but the order will of course be different.

      Adding to the first strategy, to get around a Granada-Tunis alliance, Tlemcen is pretty weak and doesn't get very strong allies, so you should be able to beat them up and occupy everything Tunis might not transfer before calling them in. That way, you don't have to worry about Tunis occupying things you want to take.

    • @FancyBurrito47
      @FancyBurrito47 Год назад +1

      Well said, I didn't mention it because you would have to do so very quickly before Tunis can no longer be called. Also, if you occupy Tlemcen too soon you'll start getting calls for peace and war exhaustion. This will continue to tick during your Granada war since you'll want to wait until this one is done before peacing out Tlemcen.
      In short, it's easier to call Tunis from the start, and you simply don't give them anything they have occupied. Tlemcen will continue to exist with shitty provinces, but it doesn't matter since your main target is a defensive war against Castile, not Tlemcen. Conquests in Iberia are better done asap, you'll have time to conquer the Maghreb, especially if you decide to betray Tunis just after the Portugal war (or the 2nd Castile war if you time it well).

      @@trollolol705 I think it's good idea to rush and vassalize Granada and enable the scutage. Then fight few wars with Iberian countries baiting them into Ceuta fort to stackwipe, feeding Granada. It's one of the best eu4 feelings to block the strait and wipe 50k of enemies. But basically the best strategy is to criple iberians before they grow stronger. Even getting into debt, it's easy to repay it with sahel gold.

    Fort placement is sub-optimal since the forts exert zone of control on neighboring provinces. With that in mind, a fort in Jufra covers for both Sirt and Fezzan.
    Also, if forming Andalusia, I don't recommend full stating North Africa since your capital will move to Europe, which makes Africa a profitable Trade Company region instead.
    For ideas, Humanist + Trade + Defensive allows you to create an extremely tolerant and rich country with -50% idea cost when combined with Andalusian ideas, Mysticism and the Andalusian government reform.

    In this case while you were still allied to Tunis you should've requested Fezzan's core back using the Favours interaction.

    16:28 You said you didn't fully stated most of the lands you conquered because you couldn't afford the admin point to core it, but even if you cannot afford to core it, by fully stating it you will reduce the minimum autonomy to only 50%, which would probably have allowed you to increase your max troops/ships limit and reduced your penalties. And -40% autonomy from 90% is always good cash

    Well after about 20-30 restarts i can say the following. Tunis allys grenada every time. Spain will eat grenada while you fight tlemcen. Cant even do a no cb on grenada as tunis and them ally on like december 11 so you cant declare war prior to the alliance firing. Generally castille will ally either france or austria. Austria normally gets hungary. Burgandy remains a wildcard.
