    Your NC500 experience does mirror mine. If you feel unwelcome it does spoil the experience. I felt in particularly in Pubs and eating out: plus the fact that trying to eat healthily was virtually impossible.

  • @garybeaumont1373
    @garybeaumont1373 2 года назад +1

    The NC 500 has got busy, sometimes there are just too many vans, motor homes etc. In regards to negativity etc sometimes you just need a thick skin and I think that most of the noise comes from a very small majority of folk. The vast majority of people are friendly and welcoming but occasionally you’ll find an exception, and the same goes for van owners, most are great folk but sadly it’s always the idiot that gets remember. Nice vlog, enjoyed watching

    • @TravelwithGaryandAmika
      @TravelwithGaryandAmika  2 года назад

      Totally agree mate, which usually applies to most aspects of life. I didn't meet one bad person in Scotland. In fact I would say from the few weeks back in the lakes there is a significant contrast, and the lakes are very friendly. You are a cracking bunch which is half the reason I enjoy Scotland so much.

      @@TravelwithGaryandAmika it’s a bit special. Until last year I was just a frequent visitor. I liked it enough to take the plunge and move up here, so now live just outside Inverness at the start of the NC500, (if you ever need a stop over try to get in touch) which I’ve done a few times. I’ve just recently bought a van with the intention of finding a few out of the way spots for the odd night out. I used to visit the lakes and looking back found it expensive, difficult to park and crowded, but stunning all the same! Happy travels!

But its fair to say the locals are fed up, not all but many are and that was apparent. Still go, don't let that put you off but I reckon winter is the best time. Less tourists, less locals out and about due to the cold, and shorter days means better places to hide 😁
