I think that maybe Jake needs to proceed with that video anyways. Change it, of course, so it would be probably lighter in tone and not an obituary, but still "what it means to be alive" sounds like a quite interesting topic worthy of a video.
I remember the moment when you posted the first video about having cancer... I was shocked obviously. I just had grown very attached to your way of explaining and describing things. I learned a lot from you and the other Vsauce guys! I am very happy that we can enjoy your presence a little longer! You are an inspiration, and makes me a little stronger in my battle with depression. Thank you Jake.
In my case I ended up losing my leg... at first they just removed the cancer but it came back... so they were just like "Okay, it's way too dangerous to keep it now". In the end, I preferred having an amputation, because my sarcoma was in my bone so after the first surgery I had little movement on my foot and limped way too much.,
@@joeandrew8752 Yes, I have fully recovered from it. But I have to do a check up in about 10 years after the second time if I am fully recovered and cancer free.
I felt reaaallly bad when he said "It shoots radiation at you? Can you see it?" and then there was a brief chuckle and what seemed like an editing cut ... Poor guy
its a dumb question but i see where hes coming from. he probably thought a laser would be attached to the machine to help point it to the right place or something
I will show this video to everyone that would forget how valuable life actually is. Because noone ever showed me as clearly as Jake and his perspectives just did. Go make it count everyone❤️
Advice to myself and everybody else who has last seen a doctor 2003 : Go see a doctor for a routine check. Even if you know that he will tell you things you already know like you are obese and high blood pressure (i have over 90 in the lower pressure). It can literally extend your life. If doctor finds not much wrong it's only a good thing! Not a waste of money.
Jake is a real good sport. The guy on the right was being a little too straightforward about the cancer questioning, but I assume it’s because he knows Jake is cool with it. I certainly wouldn’t ask these kinds of things in such a tone to anyone who had cancer, but Jake never seemed uncomfortable about it.
I know how you feel. I had radiotherapy for my benign tumour, and the fact that it will give you cancer later on in life is really harsh since my tumour is in my brain. And due to the surgery, I can't take any hits to the head now, which is especially bad since I now listen to death metal.
Sorry that happened to you. I'm in cancer research, and prior Radiotherapy exposure increases the chance but it doesn't mean you will get cancer. It's like... living in the USA increases the chance you will be shot by a gun, vs. living in Australia or the U.K.,... you just have more exposure to people with guns in the USA, it doesn't mean that you will be shot. Its very good that you're thinking and staying vigilant, catching lumps and weird stuff early makes treatment easier.

There is a pretty big difference between grading and staging of cancer. Grading looks at the cells themself (how do they look, how fast do they grow) and staging looks at whether or not the cancer has spread throughout your body. So in grading, a grade 3 is a cancer cell that is rapidly growing, may or may not be spread yet. In staging, stage 3 is the stage where cancer has spread to surrounding tissues (so to your bones, muscles, fat cells surrounding the initial spot) and possibly also into your lymph nodes, this cancer can be a slow growing grade 1, or a fast growing grade 2 or 3. Stage 4 would mean that it has spread to a completely different, remote location (for example to your liver). The importance of the stages is that it has an impact on the treatment. A cancer that is at a stage 3 or will most likely be treated by treating your whole body (so by taking chemo pills for example), stage 4 is the same but at stage 4 you are very likely never going to get rid of it. So I'm guessing he had a grade 3 (like he said) stage 1 or 2 sarcoma.
I like how TomSka had in his will if he were to die to have a friend post a tweet on his account 1:th of april saying something and then end with the phrase: “nope, still dead”.
man that start was horrible - do they no realise HE HAD CANCER? christ - as interviewers they were really out of touch with the gravity of that line of questioning.
agreed - the dude on the right was annoyingly lighthearted about it all too. that last comment "fingers crossed" - are you fkn serious mate? we say this for hoping the weather is good tomorrow, and that you get a good score on a test, not whether or not cancer is coming back to claim your very existence.
12:00 im not crying , you're crying
13:43 same
I got f**king ad

Damn, these interviewers sure know how NOT to act when you're talking to someone about the most vulnerable and scary experience of their life

I'm amazed he managed to keep his leg. Knowing how cancer could spread, part of me would want it all gone, just in case.
I would 100% get rid of the leg lol.

Cutting your leg off wont guarantee that you wont get cancer somewhere else...
Nothing garantees anything, not with cancer. Yet depending, it may give you the best odds.
Astip id rather just repent and go see my end lol not in a morbid way
Having cancer is not fun, I had cancer twice in my life.
The cancer I had was Hodgkin's lymphoma.
2 wins on your belt! nice
So you're ok now? Full recovered?
@@joeandrew8752 Yes, I have fully recovered from it. But I have to do a check up in about 10 years after the second time if I am fully recovered and cancer free.
Sounds like a Harry Potter name. I wonder, do you feel as if you have to do more with your life now?
I'm sorry
You are so brave man! I had people close to me going through cancer and I understand how it sucks. I send you a hug bro!
Great listen, amazing that he's doing well!
This is fuckin awesome. Love this new cast!
It's really good to have you here with us beautifull human ❤️

?
He answers the question. There is no cut in the audio at least.
he seems quite the simpleton

give him a break he is a dumbass
A dumbass who studied law. Not everyone knows their damn science. Calm down guys, pls
Very inspirational! Thank you for sharing Jake.

Thank you Jake, we're glad you alive, and thank you for the wonderful videos.
He is free from cancer really
Oh it made my day
We love you Jake
J.Roper... so fucking inspirational man. Been a huge fan for years now!

13:00 I've got to admit I'm kinda disappointed he didn't give Michael power of attorney

yeah the dude acted like it was some kind of joke
I find this Interview incredibly relaxing for some reason. And the subject is death and cancer.
i suggest if they want to progress this series they should boot wren jake is a strong enough personality to have on the show
Glad you’re healthy now 🙌🏼
This is so inspirational.
I survived Stage 3 cancer...because it became Stage 4.
You ok now? :/

I know, i have to have regular checks. I am very thankful for the therapy but thr chance that it might turn malignant is a bit negative
God. I think we all know the M83 song he would use. I would love to see a version of that video where he talks about being alive instead of him dying.

Corridor and Jake Roper in one video?! Hell yeah!
gets told he has cancer "dang, okay"

Man cancer sucks. :( Glad you were able to recover, must have been a very scary experience though. Hopefully it never comes back.

5:00 ow. that was smart :))
Nurses do twice the work for half the pay
Jake asks very interesting questions...
Cancern’t
I’m just kidding, I love both Chanel and hope some how he gets better and cures. Sincerely. Love ❤️ from Mexico 🇲🇽
You mean Can'tcer?
I cried
Ayy corridor and vsauce 3

Im not loving the lighting
Those nine dislikes didn’t survive stage 3 cancer
Oof
GRADE 3, I'm only saying that because there is a big difference and I have seen other commenters get very angry about it.
Sarcoma or lymphoma?
Sarcoma
Does it shoot radiation ? Can you see it ? - What ??
wait wait wait wait...IS THIS VIDEO FUCKING MONITIZED?!
i see what there trying to do with this video and i’m sure this type of thing is gonna be repeated
At least you don’t have vsause2
My grandmother died of sarcoma.
Sorry to hear that my dude 😓
I wonder how he found out :o maybe it made him feel super sick? Idk
I am not a professional but I think that he only survived because he didn't do chemotherapy
man that start was horrible - do they no realise HE HAD CANCER? christ - as interviewers they were really out of touch with the gravity of that line of questioning.
I think this would go better with just one host... and I'd go with the one who can figure it out on his own that radiation is invisible *sigh*
Im surviving stage 3 cancer every time i play CoD...
Cool video but these guys seem incredibly naive. “Can you see the radiation?” “What do you think caused it?” *facepalm*

god this video might as well be called "MISINFORMATION" .
