This brings tears to my eyes, but in a good way. Way back when my father passed in 1977. In '79 my mother and I purchased a 1977 VW camper Okay, a little hard to live in full time, but the memories I will always treasure. We had many adventures, as far as my work would allow, that I will always treasure. Unfortunately she passed, as we all must, and the bus had to go. But I still have contact with the people who bought it, and for it the adventures continue on.
If I have message to give, treasure those adventures and those who you love.
I love those old vans my uncle had one and we took a road trip with my family and my cousins it is a fond memory drove 16 hours to Cape Cod now my one cousin lives on the tip in PTown

Another great video, y'all! Here's a friendly suggestion, T&D: Whenever you off grid in Desert Storm, take along some Medical CleanTouch (or another similar brand) Bath Wipes, which will enable you to have a convenient rinse free bathing system. These disposable and pre-moistened wash cloths may be heated in the microwave and have a gentle no rinse hydrating cleanser. The bath wipes are alcohol free, hyperallergenic, soft on skin, and reduce the risk of infection. Using these will keep you clean and fresh and help you save your water resources; which is very important when you're boondocking.

I don’t have a microwave in my rig, but I still have a warm bath by using the kind of wipe you mention with water heated on my stove. Feels so incredible after a busy day. A cold shower in hot weather is equally wonderful in hot, dusty weather!
You can also do the same thing with Witch Hazel the liquid in those wipes. And a regular wash cloth. Hamamelis Virginiana. ❤❤🎉
So rarely see Dave without his glasses he looks like a different person when he’s shaving…he even wears them in the pool lol.

Hi all, so happy to be a new viewer. Buy land. You'll like it. If the taxes are nominal and the town nice. Try it in a good weather belt like Presque Isle Maine where the land is beautiful, prices low, taxes nominal except if your on a shore. This place is FILLED with lakes. They are everywhere. PLUS there's an added enhancement from Canada which is the last northern stop on the Underground Railroad which I studied since I was a kid. Fredericton New Brunswick is a large native and black community. We shop back and forth. The border is usually ten minutes away. Advice- learn how to snowshoe. You'll need it.❤❤🎉

Aw..this was so sweet. Younger days..Dave no beard..Tanya looks slightly younger but much the same...always a lovely couple. Interesting to compare how you 'camped' b4 vs how you travel today...ok..gotta go with today. BTW..those ants have a mean bite. Be careful. Keep travelin..thoroughly enjoy! I could be wrong, but I think being with a soulmate or other compatible person makes this a much more enjoyable experience. Doing this alone would be a had to versus a want to go it alone! Seeing more of the beauty of this country is truly something to behold, so glad you are sharing it with us! Godspeed! ✌

There are a lot of people doing this alone, not out of necessity, but because they want to.
That is very admirable and I am glad they are living their dream! It would be a had to for me, because of the times in which we live! Or, it would be very infrequent travel for short trips!

So fun to see and thanks for sharing...saw an older one with no shower, toilet, or hotplate, and old tiny style dorm fridge,,,you could stand up in it..but at my young older age...I think I would need your newer set up...some version...but to have this recorded..and to suggest to all of us grand idea of renting something to be sure is wonderful...lt is a lovely rental for younger or Yoga peeps...lol...I adore your communication...people really can learn more than camping with neat couples and solos and friends doing this and sharing their skills...so many many never had that and that is the struggle..or what is at some of the struggle in our world I think.

I absolutely love that van. That is exactly what I would want, but I would get a power station, portable toilet, and a refrigerator for it. Great video as usual.

Save yourself a step and put your pasta sauce in the pot and about a half jar of water..a cup or so..then pour the uncooked pasta into the sauce and let it low boil until it is cooked. The pasta will be beautifully done and the sauce will thicken up. The pasta is even better than just cooking separately.

You might want to think of a “luggable louve type toilet. So many ways and options.
From a 5 gallon bucket and toilet lid with heavy duty bags and solution to solid your fluids.

but no thank you as I will stay with our 27' Ultra light Salem Hemisphere with the
huge bathroom and our queen bed. I tell ya it's nicer than my house and I'm not
kidding. Did I say it has a walk in pantry? It's a R.V. and weighs in at 5,413 lbs.
Compared to our last R.V. which weighed in at 9,500 lbs. My husband is loving
this much lighter trailer. Even having a 250 Silverado lighter is nicer. Love you
guys.
I know that already told you two this but you two are so likeable and fun. If you ever make it to Boise, Idaho I would love to treat you to a beer 😊

i enjoy watchin your videos. i'm from the upper peninsula of michigan (U.P.). there's a lot of woods, which i like. i went through the southwest once as a kid on amtrak going to california. the desert does have its own beauty and ambiance. i don't know if i would want to live in the desert. if you're ever in the U.P., near where i live, i would be more than happy to show you some sights, if my work schedule allows it. to the young lady; i love your bubbly personality. your personality kinda reminds me of my mom. 🙂

Do you ever get scared of bears or other animals that could potentially cause you harm? Do you keep any defense items, sprays, etc.?
Do you ever fear "bad people" during your adventures? Any defense plans, just in case?
What do you carry in your vehicle RE; First Aid? What about when you hike?
About the spring water left in every "rest structure," that's fantastic! I don't know if you heard about the young family who were fairly experienced hikers, two parents, a baby, and their beloved dog moved to a new state and wasn't familiar with how hot it got there. They packed up for a day hike which apparently turned out to be hotter than expected. Sadly, they al died, even the dog, from heat exhaustion and dehydration. I was shocked and upset for a couple days after I saw that story on RUclips. I feel sad just relaying this story So, if they had water stashed along the way, it might have saved all of them.
Van life looks exactly how you described it. Not for me, though. lol I do wish you had seen elk but I am happy that you saw two horses with riders, being led by their big dog! You had even mentioned that horseback riding there would be great!

An amazing video. I'm with you - while I love van conversions, screened windows, a higher ceiling, and an inside wet shower (with a cassette toilet at minimum) would be a requirement for me! But even back then, you could see the joy you take in being outdoors and free!
Solar works ok in AZ but not great, yeah we get plenty of sun light , but too much ambient heat, once solar panels get too hot, they do stop working

I can see why you ended up with Ekko, I love it. I couldn't live, even camp, in something I couldn't stand up in. Praise you both for the knee walking. Did you own or rent? It was good advice that you gave to rent and sample before purchasing. I haven't seen this one/video before, but it sounds like it was in your beginnings. Im a single girl and just love everything you've shown, experienced in your Ekko, I believe it's going to be the one for me. I will rent a couple class B vans as well as Ekko, which I refer to as a class B plus, before purchasing. My family started with tenting, then we moved to a camper truck and then up from there to now, have 42 foot coach. BUT it's definitely not good for what I want to do, so told my sister its hers, her husband was a truck driver. I am working on becoming a minimalist. I've come to the determination we humans put too much value into stuff. I want to vaule things I can take into my next life and stuff never is an option. It's the experiences that you get to take with you as thats what were here for, the experience of being human. ❤ You too give us not only the experiences through your journeys but also seeing the love you to have for each other. It's a beautiful journey that you two have chosen. May you be blessed always.

As a looong time AZ resident I can say, the heat is the worst but we can get a few kinds of bugs, but they are not that bad. I recommend sealing the edges with boric acid to keep out he ants, roaches and scorpions.
We don't have much problem with mosquitos, but flys. And usually a bit of incense and they stay at bay.

I love the van but do agree you need to stand up. Flagstaff is a beautiful areal. The Arizona Trail actually starts down below Patagonia Az close to the Nogales Mexico border. Great area to be in the fall or early spring. If you ever make it down there ck out The Velvet Elvis restaurant great food and the decor is unforgettable. Love your videos happy travels!

WEN I WAS YOUNGER MY SHOWER WAS .AND MIND YOU MY LASTVAN WAS 4X4 W 6"LIFT I DID MY SELF..ANYWAY I HAD A BLUE 7 GAL RELIANCE WATER JUG FROM KAMP WALMART..PUT IT ON ROOF BY SIDE DOORS .HUNG A CHEAP AND BIG ENOUGH TARP AROUND DOORS. W A BATHROOM SHOWER HOSE. ON JUGG AND LET IT FLY..BUT THE WEGHT OF JUGG IS WAY TO HEAVY TO DO THAT ANYMORE..
Good video but I like Desert Storm a lot more. You have more room and you can't forget the kitties too. So just my opinion but have a good time and will see you in the next video. Love, Prayers and Safe Travels.
