What is the final ‘Quality Check’ for a component of AK 203 during manufacturing in IRRPL?
👉 It is called a ‘Type Test’.
The newly made component under trial first passes all physical and chemical tests in our laboratories.
It then replaces the original component on a new Rifle.
This rifle is then made to fire 15000 rounds (500 magazines with 30 rounds in each). [Theoretically, life of the rifle is 15000 rounds, hence this quantity. In actuals, AK 203 will be able to fire much more].
The component must be effective in its role in this complete cycle. It’s only then that the bulk production of this component starts.

While the AK203 is a perfectly fine weapon. SSS Defense weapons deserve trials. Pakistan Army is fielding the exact same rifle. PA has the PK-21. Which is locally produced unlicensed copy of the AK 103 assault rifle. It doesn't provide any edge over either opponent, being literally exactly the same! IA should consider a 6mm gun caliber and have it made by SSS defence. Since performance differences between rifles are small, ammo matters more.
True 6mm also has a good velocity aganisत the 7.62 and also pretty lethal too

AK203 isn't perfect if you've ever checked Kalshnikov's official test for running it mags after mags. I know, Indian Army had to chose lethality over lightweight but Israeli Galil ACE does almost equally good as M4A1 even with 7.62. PK21 is actually good plus, for 7.62 they got homemade clones of AK12 which is newer service rifle for Spetsnaz. It got issues too but it fairly retains zero.

@@azexnewmai3607 We do have civilian gun ownership. Only problem is that the range of calibres that can be utilised here with any firearms in India as we are limited to just .22 calibre and some shot gun rounds as per gun laws here.

@@Humble_Balaclava 315 bore and 3006 also. 315 is indigenous one but the problem is these are age old weapons. Arms act should be ammended to allow semi automatic at least low calibre rifles. Like m1 carbine or Winchester 1907 self loading or any indigenous of low calibre

That's an AK-203? Looks more like an AK-103 considering that it has a fixed AK style butt-stock instead of the collapsible M4-like butt-stock that the AK-203 is usually presented.

Like they say to save costs instead they should have gone for galil ace or sss defence P series rifles
Fr it looks like they took a modedrnized AK 103, slapped a new dust cover on it, and a railed handguard.
The Indian variant also foesent have the new buttsock, making the 203 nothing but a modified 103.
Like the AK-12, all these variants are unnecesary.
We should have just gotten modernisation kit license from Zenit and modded our existing batch of 7.62 AK's, or simply looked for a domestic option.

OO Army Expert, it has a folding butt stock, but not the collapsing one.
@@Humble_BalaclavaI think he means in terms of ergonomics for each individual soldiers. Like not everyone has the necessary arm length to wield the weapon conveniently against the shoulder. So in order for anyone to conveniently hold the rifle while in line with that of other troops, a collapsible stock would make sense as it can be suited as per the user's requirement in order to better operate the rifle as needed.
