*QUICK TIP* - Make sure the anti dry fire device is fully in the correct place otherwise the crossbow will not shoot when performing the dry fire to attach the string and don't forget to remove it after like I did in the video.
That reminded me. You can actually press down on the scope rail firmly and close the gap a little and it fires the thinner bolts perfectly if you ever have issues with that! I opened mine up by mistake by shooting the thicker cobra R9 bolts and I had issues with the thin bolts not opening the anti dry fire mechanism, but a little bit of force closed the gap back up. I wouldn’t go too crazy with the pressure though as a little firm press worked for me!
I managed to find one for sale in the U.K. and it’s arriving tomorrow. I hope all the hype is real! It’l be the 5th crossbow in my collection and my first ever pistol crossbow. Looks like a fun bit of kit! I just ordered the non deluxe version but I have a lot of accessories I can add to it!
The hype was real. Quite an impressive little crossbow for the money. I have changed out the foregrip for a better one, put a red dot on top and installed a torch/laser on the rail underneath. Looks the business and it’s a great little setup now. I have the laser zeroed for target practice across the garden and it’s accurate and more powerful than the size suggests, especially when you use the aluminium bolts and fill them with salt for added weight.
@@MrChrisdavie Hello there Chris,I was thinking to order this CB but I couldn't find the exact site for it(I mean I found similar looking ones) so can you be so kind and send me link where to buy it and the staff you add it?It would be greatly appreciated :)
@@teskataftaba well I can give you a list of where to get them in the U.K. or Europe but not sure about over there. A quick Google found this site? Great vid thanks. Got a Safety Tip ! After first cocking BEFORE firing check the limb grub screw hasn't come loose!!! Mine had the limb plates falling out even though the grub was well tightened after first cock. Very Dangerous!
Bought the same bow recently. I didn't have the balls to follow the manual, since it didn't explain why is the string installation shot is not considered dry-firing. Is it the plastic pin lodged behind the cocked string what makes the difference? Anyway, got the installation done after seeing this video. Although I had to tighten the stringer loop, since it was too loose to get the string in at first. Cheers.
Hi. Just bought my crossbow. Watch your video and it was very helpful. But when i pushed the string to arm the arrow the trigger locked and it won't shoot. Help 😉
try pushing the red button at the back, thats the safety, then pull the trigger, and also make sure the anti dry fire device is fully in the correct place otherwise the crossbow will not shoot when performing the dry fire to attach the string and don't forget to remove it after like I did in the video.
I'm looking for the spare parts plates that hold the prob/limb in compression in the rail body. Do you have a price for the three plates or alternate method to secure this?
I have this same question. I’m going to try using a penny or nickel in the mean time until I can get an answer. I heard you can use a penny from a different video
Hey great video. Mine didn’t come with setup instructions so didn’t know how to position those plates. I ended up losing one of the rubber plates (things that sandwich the limb).. is there anything around the house I could use in place of it? Would a penny or nickel work? Not rubber but not sure if that matters. Thank you
Question: Pulling the trigger without the bolt is dry fire so doesn't risk to ruin the string? I mean, there isn't another way for decock the crossbow when you need to attach the string? :-)
its o.k that one time as it not fully cocked when you use the stringer, i'd not recommend a dry fire either, there are other ways but its difficult with these new crossbows due to the safety features.
Same for me. The string isn't long enough and doesn't seem to be adjustable like the stringer is 😬 Came to this video and comments hoping there'd be some answer but the one in the video looks longer.
Wish your video was about when I had my old one it was just like yours but all black,it was a bloody nightmare to set up and didn't find the instructions very good either when it came to the safety. Thanks for posting this. A lot of people will find it extremely useful! P.s. did you find yours hard to cock at all? I used to find my old horizon a bit difficult sometimes, also I was told leaving the string on can weaken a crossbow overtime,do you know if this is true at all? I'd allways thought it would be ok as well... that's what there designed for,and they can be hard work to string! Are you thinking of getting a rifle version in the future at all? Happy shooting!
Hi Bex, glad you liked the video, hopefully it will help others, these can be hard to string, Jack striker was just saying he broke the prod on one of his trying to string it. and yes this is reasonably hard to cock, certainly more so than the older ones, but i found if i pressed the handle on my stomach it was easier. I have heard that a prod gets weaker if left strung or that the string stretches but never confirmed and even if true i would still not unstring it and neither do the majority of people i know, its not worth the time and effort to to do it every time you want to shoot it, i've always assume there fine to be left strung, like you said they are design like that. I've have two bought rifle crossbows, a 175lb compound and a 150lb recurve but always want more, lol, might get another rifle crossbow eventually, bit to pricey for me though at the moment, look on my channel for crossbow collection, i have quite a few homemade ones too.
Great video. As others have mentioned, the instructions it comes with are useless. It can fire a broadbolt by the way. Just dont bother attaching the end sight
You got it on now mate? Follow the instructions in my vid and you should get it on, you might need to adjust the stringer to make it shorter if the string won't go on
I just got one of those a few hours ago based on 100 reviews I read including this one...just shot about 70 bolts with it and these are my first ipressions....funny but no one ever pointed out what i just experienced ! ...first and most important ... is it ever possible to make something so small and so impossible to cock ??...I will be full of bruises on my thighs and unable to even write from trying to cock that damn thing !! half of the people on the planet dont have the strength to do it and the mechanics behind it are so impossible to even handle !! arrows....after 3 shots at a rag filled cardboard box at 7m 2 of them lost their tip !!...sights...out of the box they were aiming left and to the feet !!...still havent dialled it in correctly but I have no hands left to even lift a fork !!.... hows eveyone so happy with that thing ???....for the record im 6.3 bench 130kg and do curls with 30kgs 20s !!...cheerzz
They definitely are hard to cock, if you watch my other videos on it i'm sure i mention it, this is an assembly video after all, theres a technique to cocking these, watch my video - First impressions of the Hori-zone 80lb Redback Crossbow - i mentioning my cocking method and how its easier, hope it helps. If you want any tips on setting up the sights, or others things let me know. One last thing, a home made stock extender would help with cocking (look up Pistol Crossbow Fan and i make make some to sell one day too), or see if you can get a Armex Tomcat 2 - the extended stock makes it much easier to cock.
@@WeaponCollector first of all I would like to say to all your viewers that my comments have nothing to do with you specifically or your channels or other products you review or any other personal or commercial issues ... none whatsoever! they are not ment to be critical but rather educational !... as a matter of fact your reviews were of the few that pointed out the cocking difficulty ! 👍 but that in my opinion should be very very emphasized ! it is not for the faint hearted and definitely not for all day practice unless you get round cocking it with other assistance !! it looks like its almost a toy in the videos, buy one klick it shoot it, a kid could do it !!... so I left my pc on (I was watching this when I left so here was my first comment 😊) got on my bike went to the shop got it plus a pack of arrows and a six pack 🍺 and returned for a nice evening of indoor practice 😎... little did I know what was meant by "hard to cock" ! gozzila hard! was about to return it on the spot ! Yeah, i had forgot it was still in there though during the video, lol

I'm sorry for my English ;/
No ,its fine to leave the string on.
Leave string on. Order a few extra parts including string .
Mine won’t fire I’ve got the pin thing in and still nothing just a stiff trigger
Can i use 6.25 bolts with this
yes, but in my experience for the best longest lasting bolts i suggest Anglo arms gold and black bolts
