Love Hoyas! Very nice collection, something that helped me was to buy a jewelers loop to see anything that may be attacking my plants.
Yeahhhh I probably should get one or a microscope I'm just scared to see how bad the infestation is 🥲 lol
So many pretties! You might try buying 8 gauge aluminum craft wire and create your own trellises? Might be a cool video too! ❤
I forgot that was an option! Thanks!!! I may give that a go if I can come up with some fun designs i want to try!
You have a nice Hoya collection; thanks for sharing Dakota!
Thank you 😊
Wonderful Hoya plant.collection! So many beauties.🥰 You have several of my wishlist Hoyas. Great Job! 👌🪴🥰
Thank you!! 😊💚🌱
I’ve really enjoyed this video! Thank you
Thanks for watching 😊💚🌱
Nice hoyas!! The polyneura is so lush!! Will being videotaping my hoya collection soon. 🪴🌿🌱💚🙋🏼♀️
Thank you!! Can't wait to see :)
Your hoyas are beautiful, so lush and healthy looking.
Thank you 😊
You have a beautiful Hoya collection!
Thank you! 😊💚
What a beautiful Hoya collection!
Thank you 😊 💚
I found your channel just yesterday and was wondering what hoyas you have. Great timing on the upload haha. Love your collection 😁
Hahaha amazing timing! Thank you for watching 😊
Love our hoya collection, ive haven't experienced flatmites and the damaged they can do.Thanks for sharing😊
I hope you never have to! They are super sneaky 😫 thank you for watching 💚
I absolutely love Hoyas! I would love to get a Hoya Wilbur Graves but they’re pretty hard to find. Your collection is very impressive 💚
Yes the Wilbur Graves is on my wishlist too 😍 not easy to find here either. Hope you can find one some day!
Great collection! I love love love your undulata!
Thank you!! Me too, it's one of my favourites! 😍
Beautiful collection!
Thank you!!! 😊🫶
I think north shore tropical has clear acrylic trellises..Beautiful hoya collection Also Miro at Basie Plants shows in his latest video how to make cool trellises with copper coated wire
I did actually end up getting some trellises from NST but shipping to me is $55 so I'll only be doing it if I get a plant too 😂 I ordered some more recently from another shop that's a lot more local but do want to try making my own too!!!
@@dakotasplants I totally get it! I’m in Toronto too.. shipping is ridiculous
For you Hoya burmanica, it’s not rooted because of the flowering attempt. You could cut pieces from its leaves or 1 peduncle to force it redirect energy into growing roots OR you can give it more time😊
Your publicalyx needs more water and something to climb. Mine is wild which is not always a good thing she took over
Undulata is on my wish list now🤫🙆🏽
The peduncles looked like they may have dried up to me last i looked but maybe I still need to remove them! Maybe making them smaller cuttings is a good idea too 😂 I thought they would root easier. I'll be taking 1 cutting of the Pubicalyx soon to keep and selling/giving away the rest of the plant so hopefully it'll be easier to manage upkeep for it!
@@dakotasplants good luck
Taking cuttings is always good cause you never know 😌
I also got my hoya caudata sumatra because i saw yours bloom! i immediately went on the hunt for a cutting :D
Yesss! I hope it blooms for you 😍
All beautiful. My favs are linearis, heuschkeliana and polyneura. ❤
Great choices 😊💚
Loved this! Your polyneura is inspirational. Was wondering what you grow your Heuschkeliana in.
Thank you!! 😊💚 she's just in my diy chunky mix!
i love all your Hoya thet are beautiful i have about 20 in my collection but i still want more thank you for sharing
Thank you for watching 😊 hoyas are so fun to grow.
I love the look of the trio of Hoya bellas, but the green will absolutely outcompete the anneke bois (outer variegated) and lida bois (inner variegated). If you want that look, pick a big cover pot and keep the three varieties in separate flexible pots inside the big cover pot.
An option for your pubicalyx is to sell the big impressive mother plant and restart with a cutting for yourself. Pubicalyx is a beast lol.
Thanks for this video, I really enjoyed seeing your Hoya collection!
Thank you for the suggestions 😁 I'll definitely consider these!! I really do want to separate the Bellas so I may try that. Thanks for watching! 💚
Very nice video, love all your Hoya plants. I don't have any but hope to get one soon. Tske care.
Thank you! You too! 💚
Love your linearis. She looks so healthy
Thank you 🥹 so happy with how she's looking!
My Hoya obovata sat in its pot for a year. It’s in a south facing window with a ton of light. All of a sudden it’s been growing like a weed. Mine loves the direct sun! It does tend to dry out faster so I do water it a bit more than if it wasn’t in the sun.
Mine has been in multiple different spots to try and figure out how to get it growing 😬 but despite it currently being in a dark north window (to isolate it lol) it finally started growing after I started spraying it for flat mites. I hope she takes off and grows like a weed one day too!
Love hoyas❤ one of my favourites is the hoya polynera even though I find it abit tricky to grow
Looove Polyneura! They are definitely a bit tricky to figure out. Good luck with yours!
we love long videos! 🥰
Yay! Because it's seems to be all I can make 🤣
My Fishtail Hoya is my favorite too 😍🥰
i am HERE for the hoyas!!!
Heck yes!! 😃
i kind of want to combine my hoya bellas also (i have the same three you do!) once my variegated ones started growing they havent stopped (just like the green) so i kind of want to pot them together since they are all doing so well/growing at similar speeds now!
Oooh good to know they might catch up eventually 👀 I do think I'll be separating them but if they catch back up I may put them back together!
Beautiful collection. Can you post the name of the spray that you treat flat mites with? Probably can’t get it in the US but I want to look it up. Thanks!
I've been using Safers' End All!
❤ thank you for the video
💚💚
I’m just getting into Hoya and I think yours are beautiful. So scared mine will get flat mites. Don’t know that I can deal with that anyway, yours are so pretty.😊
Yeahhh flat mites can be stressful! Unfortunately any plant can get them, not just hoya. But they usually prefer hoya, I think for the thicker leaves or something!
Which Safer End All are you using? When I googled two came up, one for roses and another that said it works on houseplants. Great hoya collection; I was drooling over most of them. Living in rural Iowa, all I can get my hands on are the commom hoyas.
It's a yellow bottle! I don't think I've seen the rose one before but a quick Google looks like it's a white bottle? I added a link in the description to Amazon Canada. I can't find it on the USA one but it'll show you what it looks like at least!
@@dakotasplants Thank you!!
Most of my Hoyas were not growing and I tried many different sprays and nothing worked until I found a liquid concentrate sulfur 2 applications and new growth like crazy. The other thing I noticed with flat mites is the eating of the new leaves. The other pest is scale so I use a granular systemic and spray with alcohol
The safers end all has been helping, but I'm not sure if it's getting rid of them... but I haven't been spraying them down super consistently, so it is likely completely my fault. 😅 I'll see if I can find a sulfur spray! Thanks for the tip.
Hi Dakota. I’m curious if you can confirm that the safer’s end all is working as everyone I’ve heard from said only sulfur works on them. Thanks. Nice collection
Hi! I absolutely notice a difference since using it. I actually did end up getting a microscope and I checked any plants I was 100% sure had flat mites. I did see some dead ones (or at least ones that didn't move for over a minute lol). I wasn't able to see any live ones but the microscope was really difficult to use. The plants still aren't growing great so I am still going to be actively treating them. Apparently diatomaceous earth works too, and can be applied the same way as sulfur. So I plan to spray all 150+ plants with it, just in case, as I'm pretty sure the flat mites have been around for over a year.
I love that one there to
Hi. Love your Hoyas. They all look so healthy and happy. Please let me know if you’re going to sell cutting of the publicalyx.
Thank you!! Are you in Canada? 😊
@@dakotasplants haha. No. I’m in Florida.
Aww. Sadly I'm unable to ship outside of Canada!
What do you clean your leaves with?
i know this isn’t a hoya but if you loveeeee fuzzy leaves have you had a chance to touch a goeppertia rufibarba (furry feather calathea)? it’s genuinely the softest plant i’ve ever touched and not as fussy as some other calathea in my experience. also not too difficult to find in the states!
I touched one a few years ago and was obsessed! But I've never had one. I would looove to get one one day! I used to see them a lot more often than I do now.
Yeyyyyy love hoya
Hoya Carnosa grows crazy fast. But she wants a lot of light. If she isn't growing it's most likely a light issue.
What are you spraying the hoya with? I tried googling several spellings of what you said, but got no results.
Hmm, I'll try moving her to more light and see if it makes a difference, thank you! I'm using Safer's End All (its a yellow bottle).
❤😊
Will someone tell me how I could order Hoya, were,I have a couple,Iam really getting into them, N.C Oxford
Sometimes local shops and big box stores will carry them. Or if you are comfortable ordering online there's a lot of online plant shops you can order from!
Your Thomsonii is so big..!
Right! I'm so impressed with how much she grew last year. I bought trellises so I think I'll be putting her on a bigger one soon and we'll see how long she truly is 😃
I gave up on Hoyas. I have the sad, dried up wisps of three Hoyas that I'm struggling to keep alive.
I like them, but I gave up.
Maybe a humidifier would help you? My fish tank and humidifier really help my plant babies.
P.S. Your Hoyas are magnificent.
Aw, they can definitely be tricky to figure out! 🥲 I don't use humidifiers for multiple reasons, unfortunately. So the ones that appreciate the extra humidity get the greenhouse, the rest either can choose to life or to croak in room conditions 🤣
I am new what is pond?
Pon is an alternative to potting soil. Its a mix of different types of minerals, typically used to grow plants in a semi-hydroponic set up, similar to leca.
I love 27:20 one it's beautiful
Thank you 😊 🌱
Check that undulata for root rot. She shouldn’t have yellowing leaves
I will be very soon 😭
Bonjour tu as pratiquement toutes les hoyas que j aimerai avoir tu es un chanceux !😊
😃💚
Hello Dakota from Puerto Rico!! Finally started my English speaking channel. Would appreciate your support. You have beautiful hoyas!!! My collection is growing 😊
Hello Nina!! I just watched a bit of one of your videos and love it! You have such a lovely personality 😊💚 I subscribed and will watch more later today!
Hi Dakota, concerning your (possible) flat mite-problem, why don´t you get a microscope? They should be quite affordable and make determination a lot easier.
More important ( for me) I really don´t know if I should sincerely thank you or be ironic for putting the Hoya nummularioides on my radar. I´m not a particular "Hoya head", but I am a sucker fur fuzzy leaves, so this one went on my list. I will return the favour and recommend you the Hoya calycina stargazer (fuzzy, big leaves ans gorgeous).
I've got a microscope on my Amazon list, but I'm squeamish at the thought of seeing them 😂 I'm so worried they are going to be on literally every single plant. I probably should get one, though 😩
Haha you're welcome! I love fuzzy plants so much too! I did actually have a calycina for a moment. It rotted on me 🙃
Nice collection. Thanks for sharing. Pests are a nuisance that no plant parent wants to deal with but, understanding potential problems is prudent in order to take appropriate intervention. Otherwise, you'll risk other plants becoming affected where you could experience high lost. You can do it and work through being squeamish🔬🧐 🪴
You're totally right. I'll be ordering a microscope this weekend 😬
