Haven`t seen this series with english subtitles before. It`s an effort but at times so wrong that the real content is totally lost, and Monsens attitude may seem very odd when not understanding his comments. I love the expedition though, and if there is no other translation available I`m ready to help.

If u get a visa for crossing Canada in a fucking sled it's included -.-

@@server1ok Actually, he had some difficulties with that during the expedition. There's quite a lot of red tape involved for foreigners wanting to carry firearms in Canada, and he missed a deadline at some point to renew his permit or something like that. He had to stay in Yellowknife for quite a bit during the second summer to get it all sorted out. He writes about it in his book about this expedition (in Norwegian only, and I think out of print).

@@Innerspace100 then again, Canada doesn't get many explorers who take 30 months for a crossing -.- he probably had to renew the visa and when he did the other stuff was included. The permit wasn't an issue to receive but he killed a Polar Bear that wasn't strictly a self defense situation and brought a lot of dogs over from Norway who died instantly because he didn't acclimatize them to negative 40 C. That would be "animal cruelty" in many places of the World especially by current standards. Most sled drivers supply the dogs with dog tents or a make shift cover when there's a negative 40 C storm. He should be prosecuted for that but no chance for this happening in Scandinavian Countries you have to outright kill over a hundred dogs with a machine gun to even receive a fine. Hell. You can gun down a bunch of people and the medium sentence for that will be about 10 years. What he did was criminal negligence and blaming it on stupidity doesn't fly. It was fueled by a hunger to become famous and to make money and all of the animals in his path were treated like livestock in a factory. A scumbag imo. Well. He has calmed down since then and is more chill to watch nowadays but it took aging and disease to slow down his onslaught on Nature.

@@server1ok I don't remember all the details. Been a while since I read the book, but it was a bit of fuss to get it sorted, as I understood it.
