I feel like one of the main things of this show is seeing people reject people based on physical appearance, and so many viewers act like that’s so terrible and superficial (like beef cake rejecting purple hair girl because she didn’t look fit) but like.. preferences are completely natural and acceptable?? ANY preferences are literally fine to have! If you don’t like someone’s look, that’s a completely valid reason to not want to date them. COMPLETELY valid.
as someone with autism and struggles a lot with social interaction, i feel so much for John. I honestly wouldn’t have pushed the button at all, because he is honestly my type, cute, timid, kinda awkward, and just a sweet person :) i have a lot of issues with authority figures because of trauma, as well as being autistic, i can get very overwhelmed or overstimulated, and have had experiences of people yelling at me, or made fun of for going to louder public places with construction headphones on, as well as having “no manners” when it comes to eye contact, keeping conversation, or not following or understanding different social ques. i’m happy for him that he had the courage to come onto the show, i hope he’s doing well :)
john was doing so well, and you could tell that he was trying very hard to keep the conversation going and for it to not be awkward. i completely agree with you. with his monotone voice, it seemed like he could be on the spectrum. i am neurodivergent myself so social situations are hard for me. i couldn't imagine the anxiety of the situation as well as being filmed. props to him, he did a really good job! i hope he finds someone who's willing to be in a serious relationship with him because he seems like a really sweet guy.

I'm Autistic and I'm also not trying to diagnose but my radar was definitely going off for John. Fuck it, I’ll do it
I had the exact instinct that John was on the spectrum, I had the thoughts the same time you said in the video. I’m an Autism specialist and work with a lot of people on the spectrum who would love to get confident enough to have such a straight forward and brutal conversation as they just did. Holy that was a coaster
bonko is so based, he's just swole and wants to be swole with his wife
I was really looking forward to him roasting her
I'd date him. I love himbos so much...
He looks so sweet tbh, his smile is so cute
@@foxglove1999 So? Exercise is a valid hobby. A lot of people on the show have had weirder ones.
I wish John will read the comments here. Good to see how many ppl are so supportive. As someone said in the comments below, we got to see an episode only with John. I’m all for a “The Button: John’s special” It would be lit!
Cody pulling a Fleabag (a bunch of interactions after 7:24) in this vid made me remember how much I miss it :(
Damn Cody’s hair is lookin hot
Suus
john was doing so well, and you could tell that he was trying very hard to keep the conversation going and for it to not be awkward. i completely agree with you. with his monotone voice, it seemed like he could be on the spectrum. i am neurodivergent myself so social situations are hard for me. i couldn't imagine the anxiety of the situation as well as being filmed. props to him, he did a really good job! i hope he finds someone who's willing to be in a serious relationship with him because he seems like a really sweet guy.
Justice for John
This was definitely the video series of the year
this and the penny videos by ryan trahan
this and the penny videos by ryan trahan
The button definitely picks favorites, with the dancing and holding hands vs immediately exposing one of them or asking the weirdest awkward question
I love that Cody doesn't cut out Cut's native ads, but rather incinerates them for daring to plug a sponsor at all
John is one of the first people on this show I’d actually really love to have a conversation with
John was such a sweetheart, I really hope he finds someone not through a dating show though
Thank u for seeing he was neurodivergent. I know others would just think he’s “nervous” or “different” which isn’t the case.
John is so cute i wish him so much happiness fr
My older brother has autism so seeing Cody bring some light on John made me smile. Thank you for that ☺️🥹
as soon as he sat down my neurodivergent senses were tingling & i was just sad no one seemed to look past the nervous energy. i find awkwardness cute because i know what it means & i know how it feels. being a teacher is a great career for the ND folks too so i thought that was cool. hope he’s on the show again & meets someone with similar vibes
I'm Autistic and I'm also not trying to diagnose but my radar was definitely going off for John. The Button would be difficult for people on the spectrum because of the high pressure, social improvisation, sitting directly across from someone trying to make eye contact, and just the myriad of possible sensory issues that could come with that environment. I couldn't do it, props to John.
Vanko reminds me of a character in a book written by an amateur writer. So one track minded and one dimensional 🤣
You mean “Bonko” 😂
Nah he definitely has very defined interests but you can tell he's a sweet guy
@@eshenmaresch1868 If he's from Romania (or Bulgaria?) It strikes me his name would have Slovenian heritage like Vanko or Ivanko
@@juanpferreira All right Juan, you can date him :D
@@thisishowitallends9321 idk I’m not a cultured guy 🤷♂️
I liked John!!! So valid to be nervous! The Button as a concept is so strange compared to everyday social interactions
the button is so unhinged i love it
You misspelled "scripted".
John is so sweet i feel like i would genuinely enjoy just sitting down & talking with him
cody just doesnt stop with button videos and i love it
I’m on the spectrum and I immediately got Autistic Vibes from that guy. He seemed really sweet but it’s definitely way too tense of a situation to put him in if so.
I know I never could go on something like this😭
I love how dedicated Cody is to this show that he now is at war with a ad within the show.
I truly love the fact how Cody handled the situation with the guy who seemed ' nervouz' and knew from the beginning it wouldn't be appropriate to laugh with him
Cody they will never stop uploading Button videos if you keep reacting to them. This is a vicious cycle that will never end until the heat death of the universe. 😢❤
cody during the brand deal mentioning dre drexler is everything
Ken seems like he doesn’t even want to be there every time lmao
When Cody was showing off his dance moves I knew he’s ready to be a dad
Got to this one before Ludwig I see
dude John :( i feel for people who struggle with social stuff and anxiety. so proud of him for trying somethjng definetly out of his comfort zone :,) he probably has no idea how many ppl he inspired
It was nice to see cody aknowledge how hard settings like these can be for people on the spectrum
Good job Cody on bringing awareness to autism and the challenges that are faced! John was courageous and brave. What an awesome dude. 🎉
It’s time we start accepting all differences!
Let's take a moment to appreciate that Cody posted a video while he's participating in Squid Game
Nice
John hit the button like he was playing that game at the arcade where you have to hit the button when it lands on the color.
Big shoutout to the edditor, those sneaker sounds while Cody danced had me rolling.
John is definitely on the spectrum. I hope he finds someone wonderful soon!
Is no one gonna talk about the Dre Drexel’s reference. It had me rolling
Man, John was so nervous. Tough spot to be but good on him for trying something so bold.
id pay for a whole 15 minute video of just cody dancing
11:31 Cody, I said the same thing!!! Every now and then, they clearly have someone who is not nuerotypical and edit them to make them look like a fool. As someone who is on the spectrum, it is super cringey and icky to watch.
10:04 made me close my phone completely for 5 minutes
Hats off to the dude who was “nervous”. Fucking dope of him to have the confidence to do this whack ass show. L for the button though.
Please the roof joke thing was so funny it’s like he was processing whether he liked it or not 😭
Agree, it was so funny! Made me laugh out loud lol
Dude seems so nice and genuine this really helped us see why people react the way they do. Like the poor guy was having a panic attack and they didn’t even tell us
the way the button would get shit views without cody is always funny
That's not true
@@wasserlilie5419 Kind of one woman takes over the button video that Cody released got 1.4 million and the original from cut got 500K views
Cody dancing will the squeaky shoes sound effect is my spirit animal
90% on the Spectrum, which is fine. He did great and prob got a lot more confidence from the experience.
12:12 no bc i actually thought cody’s neck was being edited
