That blue pipe is known as what they call zed bell pipe . It’s for water , so it has to go through pressure test before it reaches the field where it’s installed. I went to work in a plastic plant where this was made back in 1983 . I’ve worked in this plant now producing plastic sewer , an pvc electrical conduit for over 40 years now. As a lead man on a production floor? For 28 of those 40 years? Yea there’s definitely a lot of logistics that goes into processing, producing, an distribution of an end product u see in a peace of plastic pipe.
Man, this takes me back. Although I helped make, can't say who, diaper liner,, very similar from pellet handling, extrusion, to product. 29 years. Retired for 10 years, I can still smell the polymer. Used Allen Bradley control view interface to the PLC networks. I always tried to keep the operators happy. If they wanted a doo hickey on the touch screens, I made it happen. Happy operators, Happy Machine team leader, and happy Maint Dept boss. Equalled happy retirement.

Why is it, these videos rarely if ever show the really interesting technical details. All you see is an overview of the production machinery at work, with no explanation as to what's going on inside, or very little
When things go wrong melting or down stream..machines get pushed across floor..lines jam springing loose saws not cutting power outages injuries dreaded chloride gas tooling equipment fails all never shown.
I do it for 25 yrs before coming to America. In 2012 i left jamaica, working as a electro/ mechanical tech at thermoplastic jamaica ltd, now omni jamaica ltd. Enjoy doing it

imagine some of those 60" pipes bent into shapes that could be fastened to a central spine into either a single tube or a double tube archimedes screw pump.. the lower end on a float so the depth of the ends is controlled. it could move a lot of water a 40 to 80 feet uphill. with a tiny fraction of the power needed for conventional pumps. since each of the tubes is filled just below the spill over point the water won't run out thru the spiral.. multiple bundles of 1 to 2 foot pipes could be created to do this also..
Can you draw this? I can't quite picture it.. What do you mean by spillover point? How deep are the ends?
@@chrisv4640 if you completely submerge the ends you get a complete spiral pipe full of water.. the water will spill over from loop to loop loosing the water out the bottom end.. if the spiral pipe is only filled to the lowest spot of tube on an upward loop.. it can't flow over and out.. so limiting the Depth of the openings into the body of water is critical.. the bottom end is going to be on a floating barge that can support the weight .. this allows the body of water level to rise and fall without loosing pumping. imagine a boat dock access ramp.. it connects shore to the floating docks..

just imagine some way to support it.. a steel tube down the middle.. with discs to allow the exterior structure to support it mid span allowing it to roll..

What a waste of plastic. A pipe at this size manufactured with PVC is an environmental disaster. Meanwhile there're alternatives on the marked which are used widely.
Wrong...with a lifespan of hundreds of years...more actually..nothing compares to strength,durability of PVC made correctly
@@NJDEVILz86 I hope you know how PVC is made and its environmental impact. In Germany this kind of pipe is not legal because of better alternatives. So I don't get the point why you need then so much plastic.
