      Sometimes you just have to put Moorish Rose down for awhile and come back to it later. You'll get it :)

      I hope so! But in the mean time I will do this to make a torc style headband!

    I'm trying out the six-sided variant to create the beautiful pencil fuse units, but I'm struggling to get it started. Is starting a six-sided version the same way, but with five rings at the start instead of four?

    Fantastic video ! Showed right & wrong things to look for; what to look for when you're 'lost'! I can do this from this video. One question is ( I may have missed this info) do you use the 5mm mandrel for the 20 g weave also or a different size?

    • @lisaellis11
      @lisaellis11  8 лет назад

      Thank you :) And thank you for asking that. I meant to say and forgot. For the 20awg weave a 2.5mm mandrel works well. Knitting needles and crochet hooks make good mandrels.

    Is this weave related to Candy Cane Cord? It looks similar to me. CCC is one weave that I have always struggled with. Maybe this will help?

    Hello Lisa. I am new doing chainmaille, this is very interesting, the chain looks like the Candy Cane weave, isn't it?. Thank you.

      Hi! Pencil Weave and CCC look very similar, but are quite a bit different in construction. CCC can be woven up much faster, but Pencil Weave is lovely for swirling colors :)

    TEsted it, works nice, personally, I prefer to use a string/rope instead of a pencil, but whatever.

    What size mandrel does one need for the 3/16 bracelet? And where does one buy the mandrel?

    • @lisaellis11
      @lisaellis11  8 лет назад +1

      Hi Sharonkay:) For the 20awg pieces a 2.5mm mandrel works best. I use a knitting needle. Works great.

      +Lisa Ellis would 4" be long enough?

    • @craftecowgirl
      @craftecowgirl 8 лет назад

      +Sharonkay Schutjer or what length do you recommend?

    • @lisaellis11
      @lisaellis11  8 лет назад

      +Sharonkay Schutjer I use a 7", but I don't think it matters much, as long as it's comfortable for you.

    will 16 gauge 5/16 work for this

    • @lisaellis11
      @lisaellis11  7 лет назад

      Raymond Bailey I think that would be too tight. 16swg 3/8 would be better.
