The first time I heard of the Divine Mercy devotion novena and chaplet was when I watched it on EWTN and at first I didn’t know how to pray the devotion but after talking to a number Catholic clergy members priests and Deacons, they explained to me of what Divine mercy devotion is all about and soon enough I learned on how to pray it. And I even took a road trip to Stockbridge Massachusetts to the Divine Mercy shrine. And I found it very beautiful and what I liked about it was Stations of the cross. And in March last year, the grand knight of my Knights of Columbus council gave me the promotion rank of lecturer and I decided to give out a speech about the Divine Mercy devotion. And every year on Good Friday is when I begin the Divine Mercy novena and chaplet. It starts from Good Friday to Divine Mercy Sunday.
Devotion of the Sacred Heart is objectively better and grants more graces. Not really sure of huge danger from Devotion of the Divine Mercy but God granted us the ability to choose which devotions we do for a reason. However, if God tells us we need to pray for mercy, maybe there is also a good reason for that.
Objectively?😂 no need to comment sometimes, when heavenly things like this are so beyond our fallen human comprehension. The faith behind any devotion is all that matters it seems to me
I realized those who have a deeper humility, more detached, purer intention and purer love for God are the ones who have a deeper understanding of God's Truth. Let's examine our intention in saying and doing things if it is only for God. "GOD WILL NEVER LET A SOUL BE DECEIVED IF IT SEEKS HIM OUT OF PURE LOVE". - soul in purgatory
"God's MERCY has damned more souls than his JUST judgements." St. Alphonsus Liguori -- DOCTOR of Holy Mother Church. Pope St John XXIII pray for us. Have Mercy on us and on the whole world.
Holy Mother Church has deemed this devotion of "universal merit." To propagate otherwise is to be an anathema to Her revealed truth. God have mercy on your souls.
Do not allow the Chaplet to Challenge the Rosary. They are Complementary. The Sacred Heart and the Immaculate Heart are United! The Modernists hate the Chaplet and also the Luminous Mysteries. The Sayers of the Chaplet LOVE to pray the Rosary. Don't let us be Divided and Conquered!
Father, I love your teachings....but this is what happened to me. I converted (from Peotestantism) entered The Church Easter 2015 so of course the second Sunday as a new Catholic was DMS. At that time I thought, THIS sounds like Protestantism, but then I thought it just must be me because I know this is the true Church. A few months later I heard the DMC being sung on Catholic radio and immediately thought, yuck, this sounds creepy....but again thought I must be wrong. Then again a few months later I read how the devotion, the diary and the painting were condemned twice. Do you honestly believe the apparent lack of humilty found in the diary was "mistranslated"? I ask this in all honesty and humility Father. Thank you, God bless and the Virgin protect you. 3 Hail Mary's as usual.
For everyone saying that Faustina or even Jesus “praised her too much” seems to forget that Jesus told Saint Gertrude the Great, that after the Tabernacle, her heart was the most pleasing Adobe for Him on earth. How come there isn’t criticizing Saint Gertrude for pridefulness there?
At some point I distanced myself from DM devotion. There are many good devotions, but with this one I feel a sense of confusion. Arguments against it make sense, but people I love and trust like this holy priest likes it. Best wishes. 🙏
The Divine Mercy devotion *Demands confidence in an image beyond that allowed by the church* "I demand the worship of My mercy thru the solemn celebration of the feast and thru the veneration of the image which is painted. *By means of this image I shall grant many graces to souls.* It is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy bcz even the strongest faith is of no avail w/o works" (veneration of the image = works, HaHa)(Diary 742) Vs: Catechism of Trent: "It is clear that there are two chief ways in which God’s majesty can be seriously outraged. The first way is by worshipping idols and images as God, or believing that they possess any divinity or virtue entitling them to our worship, by praying to, or reposing confidence in them, as the Gentiles did, who placed their hopes in idols, and whose idolatry the Scriptures frequently condemn." So then the Catechism prohibits having confidence in the image which is demanded by the devotion
That’s not diary entry 742. The diary reads “ My daughter, if I demand through you that people revere My mercy, you should be the first to distinguish yourself by this confidence in My mercy. I demand from you deeds of mercy, which are to arise out of love Me.” The catechism entry you quote prohibits IDOLATRY. To revere the Divine Mercy image is not idolatry.
1159 The sacred image, the liturgical icon, principally represents Christ. It cannot represent the invisible and incomprehensible God, but the incarnation of the Son of God has ushered in a new "economy" of images: Previously God, who has neither a body nor a face, absolutely could not be represented by an image. But now that he has made himself visible in the flesh and has lived with men, I can make an image of what I have seen of God . . . and contemplate the glory of the Lord, his face unveiled.27 1160 Christian iconography expresses in images the same Gospel message that Scripture communicates by words. Image and word illuminate each other: We declare that we preserve intact all the written and unwritten traditions of the Church which have been entrusted to us. One of these traditions consists in the production of representational artwork, which accords with the history of the preaching of the Gospel. For it confirms that the incarnation of the Word of God was real and not imaginary, and to our benefit as well, for realities that illustrate each other undoubtedly reflect each other's meaning.28 1161 All the signs in the liturgical celebrations are related to Christ: as are sacred images of the holy Mother of God and of the saints as well. They truly signify Christ, who is glorified in them. They make manifest the "cloud of witnesses"29 who continue to participate in the salvation of the world and to whom we are united, above all in sacramental celebrations. Through their icons, it is man "in the image of God," finally transfigured "into his likeness,"30 who is revealed to our faith. So too are the angels, who also are recapitulated in Christ: Following the divinely inspired teaching of our holy Fathers and the tradition of the Catholic Church (for we know that this tradition comes from the Holy Spirit who dwells in her) we rightly define with full certainty and correctness that, like the figure of the precious and life-giving cross, venerable and holy images of our Lord and God and Savior, Jesus Christ, our inviolate Lady, the holy Mother of God, and the venerated angels, all the saints and the just, whether painted or made of mosaic or another suitable material, are to be exhibited in the holy churches of God, on sacred vessels and vestments, walls and panels, in houses and on streets.31 1162 "The beauty of the images moves me to contemplation, as a meadow delights the eyes and subtly infuses the soul with the glory of God."32 Similarly, the contemplation of sacred icons, united with meditation on the Word of God and the singing of liturgical hymns, enters into the harmony of the signs of celebration so that the mystery celebrated is imprinted in the heart's memory and is then expressed in the new life of the faithful.

To be safe, I'll stick with the devotions to the Sacred Heart of Jesus through Saint Margaret Mary and the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, making reparation to the 5 sins committed against the Mother of God. Very rarely, especially now, do you see the modernists promoting the 9 first Fridays and the 5 first Saturdays. It's all about the "Divine Mercy" and sometimes that devotion isn't even promoted. Chaotic confusion everywhere, now we have a pope that promotes nothing holy! It's all things climate change, immigration, pachamama, apostates OK to receive communion, change the words to Our Lord's prayer, supress the holy latin Mass, drop the vicar of Christ title, should I go on?? BRING BACK TRADITION!
You're being deceived. Most of what you hear on the Pope is a misrepresentation. It is not traditional to judge the Pope as a heretic as many Latin Mass Catholics do

Why dont you preach about holy Ildegard of Bingen, holy Don Bosco, Prophesy of blessed Emerick, Maria Valtorta, holy Padre Pio and many others which really sow Lord Jesus and Blessed Vergine Maria.
But how can you explain why Jesus wounds are missing? You know Father that the Wounds of Christ will last till the end of time. Jesus Sacred Heart was missing too. Also why st Faustina allow the Lord to rest on her hand? I believe if this devotion was really supernatural there shouldn’t be any scandal attached to it. Thank you Father ♥️🙏🏼
It's amazing how many Traditional Catholics, (of course the Novus Ordo Catholics say the Divine Mercy) say it. I have read in many places that she (Faustina) was bordering on mental illness and her "visions" were troubling as she was displaying no humility, and I can go on and on.....My point is: Very FEW Catholics have been given the graces to see this "Divine Mercy" as a serious no no. I stopped saying it like 6 years ago. A traditional priests once told me 2 popes actually condemned this "Divine Mercy", but PJPII allowed it and among many other things, it actually gives an excuse for communion in the hand, as one of Faustina's "visions" state that the tabernacle flew open and a host flew into her hands. This is demonic and nonsensical. I can go on, and I suppose many will challenge this post and I will have to reference pages from her diary to show clearer examples, but Catholics beware. I know it's "approved" by modern day (apostate) Rome, but who cares. Do NOT say the Divine Mercy chaplet. Thank you and no disrespect intended
markymarc b you're correct. I think it distracts the faithful from praying the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary & from the Sacred Heart of Jesus Devotions
markymarc b the ‘theories’ brought on by trads hold no water. There’s no evidence for any of the accusations or hearsay. Sure there’s some odd things in the diary but if we are honest we would say what mystic doesn’t have any odd things in their writings? Traditional exorcists use the chaplet and it works saying demons don’t like it. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this devotion. People don’t want to say it? Fine but let’s stop making up the slanderous ideas about saints and devotions.
Wow, Sensus....I am a HUGE fan of your posts on here, but I must respectfully disagree. Time and space does not permit me to get into it, but I think above or below me there is a post by a gentleman who actually gives references to her diary with page number and example. If that does not help, there is a world if info on Google on why not to say it. I respect you, bud, but I personally stopped saying it years ago, and if I am in church while it is being said, I will quietly remove myself to the back of the church until the people are finished.
Sensus Fidelium I agree with you. I have tested its power many times by praying it for people who are sick and they experience relief in both soul and body. Same with the luminous mystery, I have tested its power too by praying it. I often fall into sin of impurity on a day if I dont say a rosary for the intention of not committing that sin. And when I pray the luminous mystery for that intention like the other 3 mysteries, God supplies me sufficient strength for that day not to fall into that sin and I really dont do that sin. I realized God's Truth can easily be known and determined by its fruit. "So you will know them by their fruit." - Matthew 7:20.
Healing doesn't always mean its from God, healing can also be done by Satan. We have to check the spirits. There are many, many good, rebuttals on this post alone and on Google informing us why we should avoid the Divine Mercy. I think it is so demonic because in my experience, speaking for myself, it has stolen many, NOT ALL, Catholics away from saying the Rosary which is the BIGGEST WEAPON in a Catholic's arsenal. Particularly because it is quicker and shorter to say than the Rosary and it's become quite the devotion among many charismatic Catholics. The mere fact that many Catholics, most of which are Novus Ordo Catholics, get so defensive and kooky when you challenge the Divine Mercy leads me to believe that there is an evil, evil force behind it. I notice this about Madjorgie (sic) too. And by the way, for what it's worth, I never "slandered" any Saint, even though Faustina is a Vatican II saint....I just simply stated that she was reputated to be bordering on mental illness. I certainly didn't know her personally. One can easily read this by reading about her "visions" in her diary. They do NOT foster humility but pride. Please keep in mind, this devotion was condemned by two previous Popes. It doesn't get more clearer than that,. And that fact, in the very least, deserves to be respected and researched and causes one to raise an eyebrow. And I have no way of knowing. I, for me, will NEVER say this devotion. I mean no disrespect and thank you for allowing me to comment.
Still not sure why the bishops at the time spoke against it. and the diaries were sketchy in that they seemed to make it that the visions were praising her and focusing on mercy but not on penance, reparations etc.. I would be interested to hear more about the translational errors
For everyone saying that Faustina or even Jesus “praised her too much” seems to forget that Jesus told Saint Gertrude the Great, that after the Tabernacle, her heart was the most pleasing Adobe for Him on earth. How come there isn’t any criticizing Saint Gertrude for pridefulness there?
"If Holy Mother Church said --- pink elephants have been seen flying --- then pink elephants can fly..." so went the quote from UBER conservative Fr. John Hardon as he reflected on the grave obligation of obedience learned in his Jesuit seminary training.
I was at one time a devotee of this. Not any more. There are many arguments against it, I will let the reader do some basic research to explore them. Ask yourself a question; Why does the , Mercy picture, show Christ without His wounds and without His Sacred Heart? Sounds like something the devil could tolerate. This mercy devotion is a fraud and should not in any way be followed by catholics.
Steven Mccallan rash judgement, false accusations & lies are sins against the 8th commandments plus the 4th commandments includes respect to those who are in authority. The Church had already spoken & declared it authentic divine revelation..what credence can we give to your false statement?
Way to go, St.Joe: (OUR) "trust in His Love for US." Nowhere does this oppose the messages of Our Lord to St.Margaret Mary. Elsewhere Scripture makes clear that " He Loved us first". Not we Him. Ours can only and always be a response-love to His initial Love. St.Robert Bellarmine -my mom's choice for a Baptismal name -said, "in the final judgement, the whole syllabus will be on Love". St.Thérèse of the Child Jesus, when she had found her calling within her vocation to Carmel, said, "I will be love within the Heart of the Church", because love was the "DNA" that vitalized every other vocation ( .. Apostle, Missionary, Martyr). The Divine Mercy, it seems, is "bending over backwards" so to speak, so that even those souls who caused the greatest loathing in Gethsemane -the indifferent; the lukewarm -have a final hope of Salvation:"to flee to My Mercy. " .. Those souls wound MY HEART most painfully .." They were the reason I cried out" for His Father to remove the cup from Him. The Chapel of Divine Mercy near here (Diocese of Calgary, Alberta, Canada) has been assigned to two Sisters of Mercy .. veritable apostles in promoting the Message, as well as catechizing and directing youth in Calgary Parishes. This tiny Chapel lives for and from Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration, Confessions, the Stations of the Cross and begging. Besides their Patrons of St.John Paul II and St.Faustina, St. Michael the Archangel is invoked daily as Protector and defence against Satan & Co. The Sisters have built up a little library featuring especially books on "the four last things", particularly the reality of Purgatory and the Souls there, but also Hell (..St. John Bosco; Sister Josepha Menendez), and equally the reality of the Sacraments of the Eucharist, Confession, Matrimony, and all the Sacraments. The little binder in the Chapel containing the 3 O'Clock-hour prayers -prayed faithfully each day by the Sisters and anyone attending Adoration that day-is SO "rich in Mercy", invoking the Divine Mercy for all sinners, and ESPECIALLY FOR Priests and their vocation, above all CONFESSORS. Any further doubts as to the truth of the Divine Mercy events should hasten the doubter to research Sr. Faustina's Confessor, Fr. Michael Sopocko. Would that all Confessors today were so solid in their philosophy, theology, and spirituality as true Sons of the Church! As for that same SOLID teaching and formation in the Church's SACRED TRADITION, I've found Fr.Chad Ripperger MOST helpful in recuping these serious and sober Church teachings on Faith and Morals. His clarity and detail is certainly helped by his being a veteran, Church approved exorcist.
Ignore the trolls who shoot the messenger. You're right on all counts plus faustina was not equal to True Saints. She lacked humility & her "visions" were blatantly disturbing if not very blasphemous.
Holy Mother Church has deemed St Faustina's divinely inspired message of MERCY absolutely and UNIVERSALLY necessary for our times. Wise to take counsel and heed your words..

The evil one hates it because it snatches souls from him and because he has access to our feelings it’s easy to feel “yuck” towards prayers that work.
The Divine Mercy devotion *Demands confidence in an image beyond that allowed by the church*
"I demand the worship of My mercy thru the solemn celebration of the feast and thru the veneration of the image which is painted. *By means of this image I shall grant many graces to souls.* It is to be a reminder of the demands of My mercy bcz even the strongest faith is of no avail w/o works" (veneration of the image = works, HaHa)(Diary 742)
Vs: Catechism of Trent:
"It is clear that there are two chief ways in which God’s majesty can be seriously outraged. The first way is by worshipping idols and images as God, or believing that they possess any divinity or virtue entitling them to our worship, by praying to, or reposing confidence in them, as the Gentiles did, who placed their hopes in idols, and whose idolatry the Scriptures frequently condemn."
So then the Catechism prohibits having confidence in the image which is demanded by the devotion
That’s not diary entry 742. The diary reads “ My daughter, if I demand through you that people revere My mercy, you should be the first to distinguish yourself by this confidence in My mercy. I demand from you deeds of mercy, which are to arise out of love Me.”
The catechism entry you quote prohibits IDOLATRY. To revere the Divine Mercy image is not idolatry.

1162 "The beauty of the images moves me to contemplation, as a meadow delights the eyes and subtly infuses the soul with the glory of God."32 Similarly, the contemplation of sacred icons, united with meditation on the Word of God and the singing of liturgical hymns, enters into the harmony of the signs of celebration so that the mystery celebrated is imprinted in the heart's memory and is then expressed in the new life of the faithful.
The (i think most recent) Catechism speaks on veneration of Our Lord in an image of Him.

The "divine mercy" so called "devotion" was twice condemned by the Holy Office (when it was Holy).
one more question in regards to not accepting the miracles... but didnt Jesus that in the last days many will come doing great wonders.
This devotion is heresy
I ACOMEND TO ALL TO READ MARIA VALTORTA BOOKS, THAT WAS RECOMENDED BY HOLY PADRE PIO.
I've read all of her writings and they are SO spiritually beneficial and good to read.
Ms. VALTORTA has been censored by Holy Mother Church. St. PIO would do as he was told. You best do likewise.
You are here to disinform, Maria Valtorta was a spiritual daughter of holy padre Pio, as she also was able of bilocation just like padre Pio.
Just like you
Bishop Williamson recomends the Valtorta books highly.I love them!
OK ... who else came here thinking was going to find some typography info?
Still not sure why the bishops at the time spoke against it. and the diaries were sketchy in that they seemed to make it that the visions were praising her and focusing on mercy but not on penance, reparations etc.. I would be interested to hear more about the translational errors
For everyone saying that Faustina or even Jesus “praised her too much” seems to forget that Jesus told Saint Gertrude the Great, that after the Tabernacle, her heart was the most pleasing Adobe for Him on earth. How come there isn’t any criticizing Saint Gertrude for pridefulness there?
@@freshbrewedasmr3378 thank you for that info fresh brewed.
Why he finish talking abuot tje Pope. Isn't this video about Divine Mercy? Or... he couldn't find anything else to say about the devotion?
"If Holy Mother Church said --- pink elephants have been seen flying --- then pink elephants can fly..." so went the quote from UBER conservative Fr. John Hardon as he reflected on the grave obligation of obedience learned in his Jesuit seminary training.
Pray: JESUS have Mercy on us and on the whole world.
Jesuits are notorious for false obedience. Sorry but the order HAS been closed down once before.
Holy Mother Church has deemed this devotion of "universal merit." To propagate otherwise is to be an anathema to Her revealed truth.
Way to go, St.Joe: (OUR) "trust in His Love for US." Nowhere does this
oppose the messages of Our Lord to St.Margaret Mary.
The Divine Mercy, it seems, is "bending over backwards" so to speak,
so that even those souls who caused the greatest loathing in Gethsemane
-the indifferent; the lukewarm -have a final hope of Salvation:"to flee
to My Mercy. " .. Those souls wound MY HEART most painfully .." They were the reason I cried out" for His Father to remove the cup from Him.
The Chapel of Divine Mercy near here (Diocese of Calgary, Alberta,
Canada) has been assigned to two Sisters of Mercy .. veritable
apostles in promoting the Message, as well as catechizing and
directing youth in Calgary Parishes.
This tiny Chapel lives for and from Holy Mass, Eucharistic Adoration,
Confessions, the Stations of the Cross and begging. Besides their
Patrons of St.John Paul II and St.Faustina, St. Michael the Archangel
is invoked daily as Protector and defence against Satan & Co.
The Sisters have built up a little library featuring especially books on "the four last things", particularly the reality of Purgatory and the Souls there, but also Hell (..St. John Bosco; Sister Josepha Menendez), and equally
the reality of the Sacraments of the Eucharist, Confession, Matrimony, and all the Sacraments.
Any further doubts as to the truth of the Divine Mercy events should
hasten the doubter to research Sr. Faustina's Confessor, Fr. Michael
Sopocko. Would that all Confessors today were so solid in their
philosophy, theology, and spirituality as true Sons of the Church!
As for that same SOLID teaching and formation in the Church's SACRED TRADITION, I've found Fr.Chad Ripperger MOST helpful in recuping
these serious and sober Church teachings on Faith and Morals. His
clarity and detail is certainly helped by his being a veteran, Church
approved exorcist.
Ignore the trolls who shoot the messenger. You're right on all counts plus faustina was not equal to True Saints. She lacked humility & her "visions" were blatantly disturbing if not very blasphemous.
HowdyDo CowGirl: you a cattle rancher? .. you're guessing.
Pope St John XXIII pray for us. Amem!
Pope "St." John XXIII was a Freemason, dear Miss Jean. Oh God, please research these post V2 popes.
@@markymarcb4932Thank you
This is a false devotion.
Holy Mother Church has deemed St Faustina's divinely inspired message of MERCY absolutely and UNIVERSALLY necessary for our times. Wise to take counsel and heed your words..

Jeremiah Alphonsus facepalm. Demons hate the divine mercy idea too. That’s coming from a trad exorcist. You don’t want to say it? Fine. Don’t post fake news on it though. The garbage against it have no footing & made up problems. Tiresome. Maybe some, like the pelagians, hate mercy and want pure justice? Sad if so.
Sensus Fidelium I never said I hated Divine Mercy. Strong language & accusations. Shame on you for persecuting & oppressing others who simply expose heretical claims designed to cause discord.
