My S-cape unit stopped working so I got a “conversion unit” from L&P. I ordered the right side bed unit but they sent a left side unit. I decided to see if I could install it with the ends reversed keeping the head icon and foot icon properly aligned. I made all the connections and could not get the unit to click into place. I noticed that the unit is about 3” longer than the original and the unit housing was blocked from going onto the actuator rod by the head massage motor housing. So I called L&P. I spent 3 hours including hold time and talking to impatient operators. They could not tell me if the reverse installation would work. One of them told me that I have to remove the head massage motor and give up the massagers to use the conversion. I asked why the remote has massager buttons and why the unit had power output connections for the massager motors. She said because that is just how they are made. The last person told me I had to call a technician to help me and tell me how I could get massage motors to fit etc. She gave me a number to call for someone who works my area. She told me I could send the left side unit back for a credit but would have to wait to get the credit activated after they receive the unit and then reorder the right side unit (Wow!) and hope, i guess, to get the correct one but still no answer in the clearance problem. So, I looked at the situation and removed the head massage motor and cut a hole in the thin plastic motor hosing to allow the end of the conversion unit to fit into it and slide into the actuator bar. That was not fun but was doable. So, I installed the wrong side unit but with the head and foot icons properly aligned. I reversed the plug ins for the head and foot massagers plugging head into foot and foot into head. I had to give the unit a really firm push to get it to click in place, not the easy push on the videos. Make sure the white actuator pistons inside the end cavities of the unit are fully retracted to give room for the actuators that connect to the actuator rods to have room to go into the cavities. You can plug everything up and program the remote and make sure head and foot are in the “flat” position before trying to click the unit in place. So I spent 5 hours on a 10 minute job but Viola! We, at least for now, have an operational bed with up and down head and up and down foot and head and foot massagers, even though we do not use the massagers. It is just the principle, right?

The base is working fine on ours but the head will not move. When activating the base it sounds like the motor is engaged. The head motor is working but it sounds like it is not engaging and free wheeling. I ordered a new motor from them but now I am wondering if I should have dropped the motor to make sure the bar was in good shape. The housing looks fine. Thanks

My temperpedic motor keeps breaking. 2 motors (Okin) in less than 2 years. Pratt & Leggett stands by the motor.
Plastic casing is not strong enough( my opion) also very hard to get on phone.

My motor went out with the head in the raised position. Will the head lower when I take out the old motor?

This motor is made in Brazil and is and does not last long i hardly ever used mine and the motor went out so they say and they want over $180 to purchase a new one. You can google Tempur-Pedic who uses this and you will see a lot of complaints about it. Once it goes out of warranty and that is only 1 year they will NOT help you. I payed over $4000.00 for this bed and only get a little over a year use out of it . And Tempur-Pedic will not help as they say it is not there problem .

Unfortunately the problem with the motor section going out is the internal 24V powers supply. It (the transformer) stays on (partially) whenever it is plugged in. It'll go out regardless of whether the adjustable foundation is being used or not. Does anyone know where to get only the transformer instead of replacing the whole part?

Same issue. Sent the power down box, re synched but not working. Wondering how I tell if it's the motor?
